My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with the peace and quiet we had staying at Camp David. The wildlife was wonderful to see and nights on the porch, enjoying the hot tub, under the stars , were something out of a fairy tale. The cabin itself is an amazing, hand built work of art. We were not bothered by anyone but yet very close, by drive, to all the places we wanted to go. When making our reservation we could not have been more impressed by the friendly, helpful service we received. This place is truly a wonderful get away. We recommend this place to those who want to have time alone, and some peace and quiet, in a natural setting. So much fun! Thanks for the memories. Andrew & Tamina

This little piece of 19th Century Texas, otherwise now known to us as our little piece of Heaven, surpassed our greatest expectations. On a previous vacation to Lake Tahoe, we were very disappointed to find out the website photo was several years old, and once we arrived, found out our "log cabin" was a converted mobile home located across the street from the airport. Needless to say, my husband and I were somewhat nervous about booking another online "log cabin." However, this truly is a "log cabin." Built lovingly from the ground up using 19th workmanship and tools, everything about it - the design, craftmanship, decor, location - was perfect. It was extremely clean, well stocked with food staples, a gorgeous river rock shower located on the outside of the cabin (you'd have to see it to believe it) and the innkeepers were wonderful and caring; seeing to our every need, as well as answering answered questions immediately. Further, a notebook was left inside with all sorts of area things to and see, maps, guides, etc. The bookcases were lined with interesting reading materials, and lots of table games, too. (Did I mention the relaxing hot tub on the back deck?)
The journal left by other customers said exactly what we felt - quiet, peaceful, a wonderful romantic getaway - gorgeous scenery, precious deer coming to be fed. We cannot wait to spend more time there.
It's affordably priced and just one of the several rooms the Innkeeper has. Check it out - you'll be glad you did!

Wonderul cabin retreat, beautiful setting to relax in the hot tub or sit on the deck and watch the wildlife. You can feed the deer, raccoons and squirrels. Away from it all but still close enough to enjoy New Braunsfels and Gruene. A great place to stay..we can't wait to go back.
