The cabin is beautiful with plenty of room for a family to enjoy. Thanks Frank & Jenna for such a wonderful place to celebrate a very special Mom on her special birthday!! |

| A perfect place to relax and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. If you plan to bike the Creeper Trail, the cabin is very easy access to the beginning of the trail. We brought my parents from KS here for an early Christmas present. They loved it! The trees were beautiful and we had a perfect day to bike the trail. The cabin fit our needs perfectly. Thanks for letting us make use of your beautiful place. We love Whitetop, VA! |

| Went up for the Bristol Race and had a fabulous time. The cabin was wonderful and more than we expected. There is plenty of room. The outdoors was beautiful and even in August the weather was cool. The basket and phone call from Mr. Stamper was a nice touch. I do recommend anyone driving to the Bristol Motor Speedway drive up to Chihowie to the interstate and better drive than Hwy. 58. Looking forward to going back to the cabin in the future. |

| Our family vacationed for a week on Pond Mountain and loved it. What a relaxing vacation! The house was well appointed and very clean. A perfect spot if you are seeking serenity and enjoy exploring the outdoors--the proximity to the Creeper trail is fantastic. Our young children enjoyed playing in the yard and taking numerous day trips to nearby parks and recreation areas. Even in August the temperatures were cool...a truly wonderful retreat. |

This is the best cabin we've ever been. The cabin is great and it's in the mountain. There are plenty of board games in the cabin. We had lots of fun playing most of the games. We did 3 hours of biking on VA Creeper Trail. It's highly recommended. Thank you, Frank & Jena Stamper. |

| The people in the Whitetop community were so friendly and helpful. We went to the Music on the Mountain on Saturday night and it was fun and entertaining. The cabin was outstanding and in an excellent location. Biking 18 miles on the Creeper was exciting and mostly downhill. The Barter Theater in Abingdon is a professional playhouse. We were there in July and at 3,800 feet it was still cool. This is a wonderful vacation site. |

| Every day at the Stamper's home was a delight for all of us, who ranged in age from 7 months to 71 years old. Starting with the welcome basket and phone call to see if we'd arrived safely, we felt like cherished guests in our homey and peaceful retreat. There is so much to do: riding the Creeper, hiking the gorgeous Grayson Highlands, hearing the wonderful music Friday night at the Whitetop Community Center and Saturday night at the garage next door to the bike shop, and then returning "home" for a game of badminton, watching fireflies and talking on the porch as we breathed the fresh mountain air and enjoyed the coolness of the night. I can't remember a nicer vacation. Grateful thanks to Frank and Jenna for sharing the joy. Judith, John and family |

| Wonderful! Awesome! Gorgeous! It was all those things and more. We were there the weekend of Memorial Day and the weather was fantastic. We rode the Creeper Trail to Damascus. The cabin was more than we had hoped for, beautiful and very clean and inviting. The welcome basket was a nice touch. We hope to visit again, maybe in the Fall. I'm sure the trees are beautiful. I would highly recommend this cabin and the creeper trail. What a fun, enjoyable way to spend time with your family. God bless. |

| Wonderful place to stay in the Damascus area. You really feel at home in the Stamper's cabin. Quiet and relaxing. The Virginia Creeper Trail and Grayson Highlands State Park (especially Cabin Creek Trail) are fantastic, but coming back to the cabin afterward to sit on the porch is the perfect finish to any day. Thanks for opening up your cabin to us. We'll be back. |

We visited the Stamper retreat in mid October and had a wonderful time. The leaves were beautiful and the weather was perfect. The cabin is very close to Whitetop Station, so it was very easy for us to get our bikes to the Virginia Creeper. The house is beautiful and well kept. It was very clean and welcoming. The welcome basket was a nice surprise to weary travelers. We had a hard time finding the cabin since we came in from Damascus (our mapquest directions were from the other direction) and we were travelling late at night. Call ahead and get directions from Mr. Stamper before you leave. There is little to no cell phone coverage on the mountain. (We saw parts of Virginia we did not expect to see, but it was a FUN Adventure). The house is very kid-friendly. My children enjoyed playing on the hill behind the house and there were plenty of games and movies for the kids to watch/play. The kitchen is very nice, but if you want to do a lot of cooking, you may want to bring your own knives and pots / pans. We had a hard time finding a pot to cook chili in. Otherwise, the house was very well stocked with paper goods, coffee filters, etc. We loved our vacation and can't wait to go again. We will definately try to stay at Stamper's Retreat again. It was great. Jenna and Frank have done a great job making their cabin a welcoming place where you can relax and enjoy all that Whitetop has to offer. If you go to ride the creeper, make sure you ride both ends. We enjoyed the Abington side as much as the Whitetop side. They are very different, but very nice rides. My children (10 and 12) and my friend (64) had no trouble with the ride from Abington to Damascus. Also, make sure to save some time for hiking in Grayson Highlands State Park. We had a wonderful time there. |

| We just spent 12 wonderful days at Stamper's Pond Mountain cabin. This cabin sits high on Pond Mountain and offers gorgeous views of a Christmas tree farm from the front deck. The cabin is very clean inside and out. Three decks offer a peaceful place to read a good book or to just sit quietly and enjoy the scenery ~~ and the scenery is breathtaking!! The cabin interior is very open and inviting. We had no trouble maneuvering a small wheelchair throughout the entire first floor. All three bathrooms are spacious. The beds are very comfortable. The cabin is very homey and offers its guests every opportunity to relax. Frank and Jenna Stamper are wonderful hosts. We give them 10 gold stars for their efforts in making us feel welcome and for their attention to detail in furnishing the cabin. This truly is a great place to stay when visiting the Troutdale/Whitetop area. We plan to return again and again!! If you're looking for a place for total peace and relaxation you really should treat yourself to Stamper's Pond Mountain cabin. It's simply perfect! |

The kitchen is fully stocked. The owners were wonderful to deal with - the welcome basket was a very nice touch. Whitetop Mountain is a beautiful place to visit. We highly recommend staying here. |

| What a wonderful place to go to on vacation. The cabin is quite lovely and we enjoyed the deck outside. The scenery is beautiful and spending time there was very relaxing. The mountains were stunning. We met our family from N.C. there so we could all go to the race. I highly recommend this spot if you need to get away from the daily stress of work and home. If you like mountain biking, you'll love the Creeper Trail. |

| Ideal location for being between Damascus and Grayson Highlands. We spent a recent weekend mountain biking on trails around Whitetop. Although we did not use the Creeper Trail, you can actually ride your bike down to the trail from the cabin. The cabin was clean, quiet and an overall good value. Would definitely stay again. |

| I've stayed in a lot of cabins in a lot of wonderful locales over the years, but this one is idyllic! A wonderful view,a beautifully furnished cabin with a great floorplan and all the amenities of home! And so convenient to everything the great outdoors has to offer. It is ideally located at the start of the Virginia Creeper Trail on Whitetop Mountain. A Mountain Biker's "coup de grace." The most beautiful foilage you will ever see is present in the Fall. Great fishing, hunting, bike riding, hiking and camping on the Appalachian trail are located literally less than five minutes away. You are surrounded by the highest peaks in Virginia, and will love the remote seclusion afforded by the cabin's location. We took in a play at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, a wonderful place just a short drive away! Truly a piece of heaven on earth! |
