Evergreen House offers the best of all worlds: A wonderful, modern home in a beautiful, private setting situated between Acadia and the picturesque towns/locales of Castine, Deer Isle, and Stonington. But what made my vacation especially memorable was the gracious manner in which owners Jim and Judy welcomed me to Evergreen. They are great hosts and are willing (if asked) to share their knowledge of the area based on one's interests. Evergreen gives a vacationer R & R or the opportunity to pursue a variety of activities. I plan to return this spring.

Evergreen House was the perfect spot for our Maine vacation. After busy days in Acadia National Park, Blue Hill, Deer Isle and Stonington, we came back to our big house to rest and relax. It was our first family vacation wigh all three generations under the same roof for a week and it worked beautifully! We'll recommend Evergreen House to others.
We also enjoyed Nervous Nellie's with delicious jams and whimsical sculptures. Westcott Forge was delicious and relaxing for the older generation and the Fishnet was great for those who wanted take-outs. A happy vacation for all!

Thank you for sharing your peaceful house with us. We really enjoyed the privacy and location close to Acadia. We feel we have entered a different world where time is slower and the past is the present. Very different from the hustle and bustle of Buffalo. We really enjoyed some scenic hikes and bike rides. Sorry to be leaving.

We have had a wonderful stay in Maine. Evergreen House as wonderful and in such a peaceful, quiet, and private setting. We spent the majority of our time hiking, biking, canoeing, and exploring....Our favorite activity was biking the carriage trails in Acadia. The horse drawn wagon ride was also a favorite. We loved Bar Harbor also! Great food places we discovered included the Downeast Deli, the Quarter Deck, Pat's Pizza, and for Pop-overs, the Jordan Pond House. We stayed busy every day and probably did not get to enjoy Evergreen House to its fullest extent but we did enjoy the time we were here!

| We just spent another great week at the Mountainside Cottage. Once again, we had a great time. Jim and Judy are wonderful hosts. We have rented from them for several years and we are looking forward to returning next year. |

We enjoyed Blue Hill. It is the perfect small town and a great location for visiting all surrounding towns. We especially enjoyed Acadia and Castine. Arborvine was our best dining experience.
Thanks Jim and Judy.

We thought the house was wonderful and it is in a great location for either relaxing quickly - or - for exploring the area, of which there is much to explore. We only wish we had more time. It was also great to meet the owners who we thought were lovely helpful, friendly people, and we will tell everybody we know how great it is here. Hopefully, one day we will return.

We just returned from our week long stay at Mountainside. MOUNTAINSIDE: We were very pleased with this cozy studio that had everything we needed to be comfortable. Blue Hill is a lovely bayside town with lots of outdoor activites both on and off the water. Also a beautiful library with wifi for a rainy day. Thanks Judy and Jim for a very pleasant week. Your vacation home was so beautiful in the woods, we actually drove up to it and said that cannot be it - It's so lovely. It was the perfect location and so comfortable for us. Evergreen was one of the highlights of our journey. So, when folks express an interest in traveling to 'down east Maine' I have been and will continue to refer them to you. Please, feel free to put my comments on your web site.
Blessings, Ruth

MOUNTAINSIDE: I just found this guest book. We stayed with judy/jim last year. what a great cabin in the woods with a beautiful view off the back deck. they were great hosts (they stopped to see if all was ok and empty garbage) great home at a great price and in a great area. we are already booked for this year and will be going back in a few short weeks. this is a great area with many things to do and see. try nervous nellies jams/jellies, blue hill fair, and penobscot market for fresh lobsters to cook in your pot. [Jim has returned each year for three years]
