We really enjoy the view from the decks, too. Sitting out there and soaking it in is our favorite thing to do. You need to come back when the weather is a little warmer so you can really spend some time out there.

One of the best things about our trips to the Smokies since we bought the chalet is that we've learned how to just sit back and enjoy the view more than we used to. It's nice to occasionally go away and do nothing but that. We'd love to have you come back for a longer stay and just relax and unwind at Cloudy Dreams.

It's nice to hear that your family had a good time at Cloudy Dreams. There is a lot of room in the chalet making it nice for families. I remember the days of having small children and all of the extra stuff you had to pack because of it. It's so nice now that the kids are older and they can pack for themselves. LOL.

Sherry - Glad you all got to see a bear while you were at the chalet. We just got back from the chalet ourselves and were fortunate to see a bear by the chalet three different times. Once on the road in front of the chalet and twice down beneath the decks. One morning he was down there having his breakfast. It's always so neat to see. We also saw one in Cade's Cove after our hike to Abrams Falls.

You're the second or third guest to tell me how great the Miracle show is in Pigeon Forge. I need to get over there and see it sometime.

I'm so glad that you (and several other guests) have skied the slopes of Ober Gatlinburg this year. It's so close to the chalet. It's nice to see people use it. We've never been skiing there, but we've gone up several times to ice skate which is also a lot of fun. I'm glad the kids enjoyed the game room and that the adults were able to enjoy a much needed vacation!

Netra, We really do strive to keep the chalet in top condition for our guests. While we get down to the chalet to work around the house anywhere from 6 - 10 times a year, the real credit goes to the couple that cleans our house. They do a fantastic job and we're very grateful to have them!

I know that when we used to look for a place to stay, we always looked for King suites. We would visit Gatlinburg once a year with my parents and it could be difficult to find two Kings in a two bedroom, so that was one of the things I looked for when we went to buy a place.

I'm glad you were able to have a relaxing getaway with your best friends. We hope to have you all stay with us again sometime!

I'm glad you all had a chance to get up to Ober Gatlinburg. There really is a lot to do up there both in winter and in the fall. This past summer my 16 yo daughter and her best friend really enjoyed skating at the indoor ice rink and sliding down the alpine slide. Unfortunately, we've never gone skiing up there. It's still on my to do list.

I'm glad the kids got to see at least a little bit of real snow. I know being from MS that they must have really enjoyed that!

I am a little surprised that it wasn't too cold for you to be on the deck although if you're anything like me you were out there whether it was cold or not. Sorry you didn't get to see a bear. There certainly were a lot around this year, but it is getting a little late in the year to see a lot of them. Most of them are bedding down for a long winter's nap.

I'm glad you had a good time in the mountains. It's definitely my favorite place to be. Peggy, it is truly amazing how much we found out we have in common from jobs to favorite Gatlinburg stores! For those reading...be sure to check out Beneath the Smoke on the Parkway in Gatlinburg. It's right across from traffic light #3. I just love that store and there are a couple of wildlife pictures in the chalet that I bought there (some at home, too).

We really hope to have you stay with us again when you decide to take another break in the Smokies.

It sounds like you had perfectly beautiful weather while you were in town. It is quite something when it's clear and you can see all the mountain peaks from Clingman's Dome and Newfound Gap. Sorry you didn't see any wildlife. I'm sort of surprised since you spent so much time on the deck. We've had a couple of different bear families that have been visiting the chalet this year.

I'm so glad that you had a great time over your Spring break. It is indeed unusual to have a late March snowfall. The best part about those late ones is that it's beautiful when the snow is falling, but it soon melts allowing you to see those early spring flowers poking their heads up. Every vacation to Gatlinburg always seems to be "way too short" or at least my vacations do! I haven't been down there since the beginning of February, and I'm starting to exhibit withdrawal symptoms, I believe. First, come the dreams of a Donut Friar donuts from The Village dancing around in my head. As my condition worsens, I begin to imagine I hear bears in my trash cans and such. LOL.

Since we always had issues trying to find a place that would accept pets, we decided to allow them at our mountain home. We almost always had to kennel our dogs because, as you know, a lot of times it's hard to find a nicer place that allows pets. We thought we'd change that.

I'm so glad that you felt like your Mom was with you on your visit. I actually had a friend who lost someone and began to see a blue bird outside of her window all the time. The bird would sit on the windowsill for hours and watch her through the window. So I totally get your Mom and the hummingbird story. Thanks for your extraordinary comments on your stay at Cloudy Dreams. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay. I know that you said that all you wanted to do this past weekend was relax, and it sounds like that's exactly what you did. Our favorite spot in the chalet is also the main deck. I just love to sit out there and even find myself out there sitting in the winter with a coat on!

We saw a bear at the beginning of this year, but have yet to see this one that everyone keeps mentioning. Maybe he'll visit us when we're down in October.

I'm glad to see that your boys enjoyed the pool at the Owners' Club. I really need to try it out myself when I'm at the chalet in August. I've never been, but it sure looked like it was very nice when I went to check it out.

I wondered if you all would be able to see the fireworks in downtown Gatlinburg during the summer. I know from another guest that you can see the fireworks in town on New Year's Eve, but was curious about the 4th of July ones. Glad to know that not only can you see those, but ones from other towns! Spectacular!

A gas grill was always one of the things I would have liked to have had when we were renting chalets before we bought this one last year. It just makes it easier. I know some people really like cooking with charcoal, but I never liked dealing with the mess.

You all really saw lots of wildlife while you were in town! This year has been a record year for seeing bear I think. I've talked to visitors to the Smokies online and have heard about many sightings from them. We're at the chalet now, and my daughter and I went through Roaring Fork yesterday, and saw a Momma with her cub. We took a couple of pictures from a safe distance. It's always so exciting when you see one. Plus didn't you tell me in an email that you saw a few elk in Cataloochee and also some coyotes? You must have lots of pictures! By the way, thanks for the picture of the bear you saw outside Cloudy Dreams. I'm going to put it in the photo album here.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the chalet. It sounds like you spent a lot of relaxation time there. Before we bought Cloudy Dreams we used to run ourselves silly everytime we went to Gatlinburg. Now that we have the place we've learned to slow down just a bit, relax, and enjoy the view so to speak. That's so important on vacation.
