| This is the most amazing home. Beautiful views and Doolin is an amazing village. We checked out all of the pubs (in the name of research, of course) and we loved McDermott's the best. The owners and the caretakers are quite wonderful and thoughtful. You will love your stay in this beautiful house. |

| Our family just returned from two weeks in this warm, comfortable, magical, elegant (there aren't enough adjectives!)home. And as beautiful and welcoming as the house is, the surrounding land and nearby ocean are even more so. It was wonderful to start each day with a cup of tea on the patio, watching the ferries go back and forth from the Aran Islands, feeling the sun and the breeze, and being amazed by the absolute quiet of the place! I am so grateful to the owners for sharing this place. I hope to return. |

We are veteran home renters, but Draiocht charmed us beyond any other place that we have ever stayed. This lovely home is a bastion of stillness, covered with a traditional thatch roof and set upon the most beautiful rolling hills running down to the sea. The view is so stunning that dozens of cars stop daily right along the road outside so that folks can hop out and have a picture. In fact, this very same view -- a 15th century castle with the sea beyond – is featured in the current (September 2007) issue of Condé Nast (in an article on touring the “new” Ireland).
The entire home is comfortably and charmingly furnished. We were particularly grateful for the collection of books helping us to identify the flora and fauna of the area and providing background on Ireland of the type not commonly found in guidebooks. The house is so snug that you will be tempted to spend all day curled up with a book and the view, but make sure to get outside on foot. It is an easy and breathtaking walk into Doolin. If you tire of pub grub, the food at both Cullinan’s and The Lazy Lobster is not to be missed. Other wonderful walks include the road to The Clare Jam Shop and the road bearing the sign from Co. Clare warning of “Dangerous Cliffs.”
We are immensely thankful for our two weeks at Draiocht. We hope that it will remain just as it is – beautiful and unspoiled – for many years to come.
