We had a great time at the cabin. It's very quiet location, and there was everything anyone would need in the cabin - no need to bring anything. Thanks to the owners for being so thoughtful.

Once again we had a great time and enjoyed this wonderful cabin. The weather was absolutely awesome for the entire week - much better than in May '08. No snow this time, but we didn't see as many animals. We drove to the top of Sawtell Peak and loved the view but it was very windy. The Upper & Lower Mesa Falls were beautiful. We also saw Cave Falls and hiked up to Bechler Falls. It is an easy walk and well worth it. A pamphlet says the bugs are bad in summer, so now is the best time to go - it was just beautiful. We also saw Old Faithful and hiked to the observation point. We drove up to Bozeman and then to the Tower-Roosevelt section to walk over the suspension bridge. That was well worth it too. We walked along, then up to the lake where we had a campfire and enjoyed the stars, hearing the cows and coyotes. We also enjoyed the museum in West Yellowstone. Thanks, Magdalena for everything.

We had a great time - could have used a few more days to get in all the sights.
Everything was breathtaking. We never saw a bear, but did have cows outside our cabin one morning...it was awesome. The cabin was perfect. It was well equipped with things I may never have thought of. Very clean and comfortable, but most of all cozy. I will definitely recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for everything and for making our stay comfortable - hate to leave.

All of us had a great time in this lovely, well equipped cabin. Coming back to cook, chat with friends, relaxing etc. were the most exciting things for everyone. We took a lot of pictures which will definitely bring us wonderful memories in our life without question. The Yellowstone trip has been an incredible vacation for us. We enjoyed Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs, Norris, West Thumb, etc. Thank you for sharing this amazing, peaceful, quiet and well supplied cabin with us. We do appreciate everything here. In addition we will definitely recommend this cheerful home to others. Thanks so much again and May God Bless This Home and your family.

Our family LOVED your delightful cabin in the
woods. This place is wonderful inside and out! We
were very RELAXED here - most relaxing vacation in
a while! Yellowstone was beautiful, but we saw
almost as much wildlife here at the cabin and on
the road up here. Saw a large male moose in the
woods between here and Highway 20, then a large
buck deer on the back lawn. He didn't even spook
when we went out on the deck to take pictures. Just
really enjoyed our time here - thanks for sharing
your piece of heaven with our family. Rodeo at
Meadow View was a unique experience. Horseback
riding at Harriman State Park was a good choice
too! Thanks for all of your help, Magdalena - every
detail was taken care of.

P.S. Our kids loved the Eagle's Nest too!

We two families had a great week. The cabin was
fantastic. All the kids loved the Eagle's Nest. The
gents cooked up a storm in the kitchen and even
used the bread machine. The cabin could not have
been better stocked; it was like taking over
someone's home for the week.

The surroundings of the cabin are so peaceful. We
had a great walk up the road and into the aspen
forest. Never saw any wildlife bigger than a moth at
the cabin, but saw at least one of everything at
Yellowstone and Teton. Also had a great float down
the river via Mack's Inn Rentals near the cabin; at
the river's edge we saw a bull moose up close and
personal.

By the way, we had great ATT service for our
iPhones at the local lakeshore (Henry's Lake).

This vacation was quickly put together and we are so thankful we found the Mountain Lake Cabin online! What a cozy, comfortable place to come to each night after driving around Yellowstone. Magdalena was so helpful in letting us come for just three days - to fill in her summer's rentals and give us a great experience. We had all we needed - even the hair dryer I forgot to pack! The Tetons are also wonderful - hiking to Taggert Lake was so beautiful. We went whitewater rafting there on the Snake River and I can recommend Jackson Hole Whitewater as a great organization. Went up Signal Mountain in the Tetons - saw a mother black bear with her two cubs up a tree! They were so cute, but when they came down we were sure to be in our car! This a a super house location! Thanks again.

PS - Ellie wants an Eagle's Nest at home to do homework for her senior year! All age kids love it!

We loved the cabin so much - it was wonderful! Our favorite vacation house ever! At Yellowstone, we saw grizzly and black bears, coyote, bison, bald eagles and their nest, lots of elk and deer. We also saw deer right outside the cabin in the yard.

P.S. The Riverside Cafe on the other side of Quake Lake on Rt. 287 was awesome for lunch!

All eight of us loved the cabin a lot. It was so beautiful and had everything we needed, so close to a beautiful national forest. It rained every day and snowed once, but we still were able to do all the sight seeing we wanted. Bruce was here quickly for any trouble. Thanks, Bruce. There are so many things to do and see in Yellowstone - a week isn't enough. But we also had a great time within a few miles of the cabin!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin with us! It was very well equipped with most everything anyone could need or use in their own 'home.' I love the furnishings and the beds were very comfortable. We had a great time seeing all the wildlife in Yellowstone Park. We saw lots of buffalo, two grizzlies, elk, sand hill cranes, eagles and antelope. We even saw elk and a coyote on Red Rock Rd. But the kids enjoyed feeding the muskrats, trout, ducks and seagulls at Big Springs the best. They also enjoyed fishing at the Reservoir and caught two Rainbows.

We have rented cabins similar to this one in the Black Hills and The Smokeys and I would say this was definitely the nicest! Very homey and quiet. Truly a vacation! We'll definitely recommend this property to others who might be vacationing this way. Thanks so much!

We are the Goffs from Kaysville, Utah and Syracuse, Utah - myself, my husband, our son and wife and our grand kids. We really enjoyed the family togetherness and everyone loved the cabin and its great setting. The kitchen was better stocked than any other vacation home I have visited in the past. This made preparing meals for a large group worry free and easy. It was also nice to be so close to good fishing. It allowed us to fish in the morning and then return again in the evening without much of a drive. Our son went into Yellowstone, took some short hikes and saw lots of animals, especially enjoying the new little ones. We went into West Yellowstone, shopped and then drove to see "Quake Lake." It was so interesting. We were both 16 when it hit and felt it in our homes in Utah. The visitor center was very educational. Our grand kids want to see it today before we head home. Great location. Thanks for a nice visit and for sharing your home with us!

To the Owners:

Location, location, location. How refreshing it was to stay in a cabin and not hear anything other than what was going on outside (re: wind, snow falling, etc.). The beauty and views from the cabin itself and the way you furnished it is admirable. We honestly can't say that there was anything we needed that you did not provide.

A huge kudos for the Managers of the cabin. They were at our beck and call. Never a call missed or a concern not addressed. We have rented many times in Island Park and never received a call from the Property Managers to see how things were going or address any concerns. Not only managing other properties, it felt as though we were the only ones that they had to look after (although we do know this was not the case). Having been in the hospitality industry for many years, I commend both of you for your concern and care of our stay at Mountain Lake Cabin. It was so comforting to know that you were there.

For any future snowmobilers, snowshoers, etc., this is the place for you. True beauty, tranquility and the comfort of knowing you have Magdalena and Bruce as your Property Managers, nothing can touch it. It was "our" pleasure getting to know you both and appreciate the extreme hard work that you do.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back.

Happy 2009 New Year to You!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your beautiful cabin. This was our first trip to Yellowstone and we were definitely awed by the beautiful vistas. Saw many, many bison and some elk and three pronghorn - however, we were hoping to see a moose or two and some bears, but that didn't happen even though we traveled almost every inch of the park. Oh well, maybe next time. Thank you once again for the use of your cabin. We were not at all disappointed. Your website is very good and the driving directions you gave us were great.

We had a wonderful family vacation at your beautiful cabin. Visited almost all of Yellowstone and saw elk, moose, pronghorn, coyote, black bear, bison, trumpeter swans, and bald eagle. Elk were always on the south side of the west entrance road about half way in, in the afternoon. Moose seemed to be near the petrified tree mid afternoon. Pronghorn in the field east of Highway 20, just north of Red Rock Rd. Bison were everywhere in the Park. Visited Grand Teton also. We came back through Yellowstone in the evening and it only added a half hour and provided more wildlife sitings. While you're at Grand Teton if you have the energy, take the hike to Inspiration Point!! It's well worth the effort. Karl, Betsy, Bruce and Magdalena, we can't tell you how great it was to come "Home Sweet Home" after all of our very long days. Thanks you all for the Hospitality.

Thank you for the use of your cabin. This was the first time we have ever done something like this. Your cabin is wonderful. I caught myself just looking around - it's so beautiful. And of course bear hunting - never saw one around your cabin, but was hoping to (from a distance that is). Anyway, thanks again. We will remember this time forever.

P.S. It really felt like home. (I could get used to it).

What a great place. Everything was so nice and well stocked and equipped. We did not see a black bear here - was hoping - at a distance of course. We did see one in Yellowstone in the northern section. Yellowstone is as wonderful as we imagined, a real treasure of a park. The only problem was running out of time - we stayed here for 6 nights. Mesa Falls was one of the best waterfalls we have seen - just down south of here a few miles. The Grand Tetons is also a gem. Thanks so much for the wonderful cabin. Thanks to Magdalena for all her help - good, nice management. Loved it all. Karla and John

The house was great! As we had hoped Yellowstone and the surrounding area are tremendous. We were very lucky to see a grizzly crossing Route 20 between Island Park and West Yellowstone. This was on Tuesday. The next day we saw a black bear and her cub in the morning near Tower Falls. An hour later we saw a larger black bear. To make our luck complete we also saw a coyote, a herd of buffalo, two foxes and of course many elk throughout the week. Yesterday we rented 2 small ATVs and drove around the Island Park area where we almost ran into a huge moose. We got a picture!

Willem, Tineke, Roely (13) and Marlena (10).

P.S. I discussed our grizzly sightings with a very nice and knowledgeable ranger. After my description of the event he wisely concluded: if you think it was a grizzly and not a black bear, then I am sure it must have been a grizzly! When I retire I plan to come back to be a ranger!

What an incredible home - and that's what it felt like when we drove up every night after a long day of exploring Yellowstone - we were blown away at the beauty of the location, the closeness to the West entrance, how well stocked it was and the amenities of the cabin. I especially enjoyed my coffee and prayer time on the front porch in the mornings, and a glass of wine by the firepit in the evenings. Coming from Florida, we especially looked forward to the cool temperatures in the morning. Thank you so much for a vacation getaway memory that we will always cherish.

If you are looking for wildlife in the park, try Lamar Valley (saw bleak bear, coyote, wolf, buffalo and elk) - also if you have time, go to Mammoth - 50 elk were resting on the hotel lawn. We did not see any wildlife on the cabin property but did see two moose just off Red Rock before you get to Highway 20. If you come in the summer, enjoy the wildflowers in the meadow behind the house - collected quite a bouquet for my wife. Thank you for letting us enjoy a little piece of heaven on earth!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous mountain home - we loved the openness of the cathedral ceiling in the dining and living areas, the coziness of the bedrooms with the oh so comfortable beds and luxurious linens. Such great extras. Everything we needed was there in the kitchen for cooking, grilling (propane), crockpot slow cooking. Spaces were well planned for cooking and talking to friends, family dinners inside or on the decks, gathering in the livingroom or in the loft for a dvd. If we'd had kids, we know they would have loved the "eagle's nest" play area accessed by pine log ladder indian cave dwelling style (well, not that high but a sturdy ladder none the less). We liked the location - the surrondings are breath taking and the West gate of yellowstone and lots of wildlife is just 35-45 minutes drive away. Dave's Jubilee grocery store in Ashton was a great find after talaing toe loop dirve to the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls. Dave's has great meats, good veggie and fruit selections plus yogurts, Slik soy milk and other surprises. We stocked up and had a great week of cooking, eating and picnicking as we took hundreds of phots of wildlife and nature in Yellowstone and the Tetons. Thank you so much for such a great home away from home!

fun experiences for us all - horse back riding, rafting down the

Jackson Hole - best fireworks we have ever seen! Best animal viewing
time is just before sunset, which for us was about 9.00. We saw wolf
pups, black bear, antelope, elk with babies, bison and moose. The moose population seems
to be down right now, or maybe we weren't at the right spot. Your home

Merry Christmas! We had a picture-perfect Christmas vacation. We were able to escape our busy lives in the city, to this beautiful and clean Mountain Cabin. It was wonderful!

We put up Christmas lights, cut down a Christmas tree, drank hot chocolate, ate lots of delicious holiday food and sweets, played board games, watched movies, opened our Christmas gifts and relaxed. November 22 - November 26, 2007 (clear blue skies and crisp white snow).

This was our first Thanksgiving away from home - and what a beautiful and special place to spend it! As a current Philadelphia resident I frequently long for tall peaks and craggy landscapes - so what a treat it was to have them in such abundance here. I loved waking each morning to see the crisp snowy woods at my bedroom window. The peace and calm here are incredible. Also: we've got a few photographers in the family and you can imagine what a field day we had with all this beauty. I can't wait to go home to print the photographs! Thanks for a lovely holiday. To Betsy and Karl - Since we arrived here after dark, I had no idea of the beauty of this incredible home (hardly a cabin). When I stepped out of the hot shower (upstairs) and opened the blinds I saw a sight I hadn't seen in umteen years - the grounds and the branches covered in glistening snow. What a treat to have been here at this time. Thank you. Truly, Fran Raboff

It was wonderful to have 3 generations of Raboff/Gordon women here for a lovely Thanksgiving. Barry, a great multi-tasker, husband, son-in-law and father, always brings his spirit of adventure to a trip. Thank you so much for providing a beautiful home base for our fun adventures. Laura

First, we would like to graciously thank Magdalena, rental manager, for all of her excellent and timely communication with us as we prepared to travel here from Oregon! She was so patient and always ready to help with whatever questions we had which made our trip and our arrival here so wonderful! Thank you Magdalena! To the owners, Karl and Betsy: May I tell you that your beautiful cabin is so wonderfully well-equipped, stocked, and clean that I really did not even have to make a run to the grocery store for items like paper products, or plastic storage bags! Even a crock pot and every utensil/cooking item needed for those meals we cooked here - spices, even the condiments!

Another excellent thing we enjoyed was how comfortable the beds and all the furnishings were. All of my family suffers terribly from dust mite allergies and so we are usually not very comfortable in rental homes because they do not clean well for dust in furnishings, bedding, etc. We had no such problems here, so we know you must do a great job of "allergy-proofing" your bedding and keeping dust to a minimum - we are so appreciative as this is very rare! I hope it can continue to be maintained this way because we hope to return annually!

We spent a good majority of our time in Yellowstone so we did not see much wildlife around the cabin, but enjoyed the beautiful location! Your deck is awesome! Great work! I can tell you stay here yourself because your own special touches make all the difference! We have stayed in many vacation homes in Oregon on the coast and I can tell you from experience that yours has been the most comfortable and wonderful to stay in because of the care you have taken to provide more than 'just the basics' and your continued interest in 'keeping it fresh' and clean. Thank you for providing this wonderful home!

This was the perfect spot for our "extended family" reunion (CA to PA).

We are fortunate to enjoy your well-built and nicely appointed
cabin-in-the-woods-near-the-lake! We had wonderful family time around
the dining table and enjoyed having everything we needed in the
kitchen. So thank you for the opportunity to spend this week here. Rob Stewart

Outstanding job. Dick and Peggy from PA

Furnishings were perfect and demonstrated a sincere desire provide a home away from home for others. We saw deer every day. The cabin provided a perfect ending to each wonderful day at Yellowstone Park. It is obvious that you have a love for sharing the beauty of the area with others. Thank you so much!

What a gracious up/scale home away from home...Everything far exceeded any expectations that we might have had! The amenities were "over the top"! We had expected to leave the cabin relaxed and rested, but there were way too many fun things to do during our stay. Took 2 Yellowstone tours as well as spending time in West Yellowstone shopping and taking in the local sights. Be sure to see Earthquake Lake on the loop coming back to Island Park. Highly recommend going to see Meadow Vue Ranch down the road from the cabin in the summer. Thoroughly enjoyed their "Steer cutting" competition over Labor Day weekend...They serve a great bar-b-que! We also enjoyed a couple of dinners at the Island Park Resort. It's a REAL PLACE FROM THE PAST! Had a great breakfast at a West Yellowstone local hangout called "The Red Pancake House" or something really close to that...All in all, a fabulous week...Thanks so much! We had a great time up here for Darsie's 40th birthday! It was great to

be reunited with friends and meet some new ones in such a beautiful
place! The scenery, the friends ... everything was so nice. I'm just
bummed that I saw no bears! Thank you for sharing this with us!

Thank you for the use of Mountain Lake Cabin. It really is a great
cabin in a beautiful location. This cabin really did feel like our home

for a week. Thank you for furnishing, appointing and stocking it so
well. Our favorite part of being here was the cool evenings out on the
deck and the wildlife. We saw everything you could imagine, including a

mule deer right in the back yard. Thanks again - we had a great time!

This beautiful house was a pleasure to return to after long days spent exploring Yellowstone. One evening on the 5 mile stretch of Red Rock Road we saw a male moose beside the road! After an afternoon fishing on Yellowstone Lake we returned here to grill the two lake trout caught (one 4.8 lbs!) and ate on the deck watching the sunset through the trees. Without question though, our absolute favorite experience at the cabin was waking up two different mornings to the sight of a fairly large black bear foraging for food behind the house. At one point he got to within 25 ft of the back door - incredible!! Thanks for a very nice vacation!

What a beautiful cabin in our favorite place - Island Park! We've been so impressed with how well stocked this place is - you've certainly thought of everything. We hope to make Mountain Lake Cabin a yearly family tradition. The only thing missing was a hot tub - but we're not complaining too loudly. The views are so peaceful and beautiful. Thank you! Thank you! for letting us stay in this wonderful place.

We had a great time exploring all of the surrounding areas and it was really nice to have such a beautiful, peaceful home to come back to each evening. Took a trail ride at Diamond P Ranch and met some really nice people, visited Harriman State Park, Jackson, WY, Virginia City and Nevada City, MT and of course spent time in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons! One afternoon we startled a young mule deer that was hiding in the shade under the front deck.
Thanks for letting us experience this piece of paradise and providing us with information on how to make the most of our time!

We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the gorgeous surroundings. For a
bunch of flatlanders these mountains are pretty breathtaking. In
addition to the usual park activity we also enjoyed Big Spring, Mesa
Falls and the trail ride. It was a perfect environment for our joint
holiday. We were particularly grateful for how well the kitchen was
stocked, and the house was a great experience. It was nice to find this
lovely home online.

What a great vacation we've had in this clean, comfortable, and well-equipped home away from home! We especially enjoyed keeping the bird feeder full and watching the varied birds and squirrels eat the seed. The view of the mountain through the aspen and pine trees was captivating. It could not have been better. Hey - we like it here!

Spent a wonderful week here in 2005 and looked forward to returning since. My parents, Bert and Pat, and friends Marv and Connie joined us for the week.

We toured Yellowstone and the Tetons and spent the rest of the week playing cat and mouse with the elk and deer on the ridge. We had a geat time with some heart-pounding excitement and as usual the elk are still roaming the mountainsides with us ever more respecful of their place in the mountains.

We love your cabin and look forward to 2007 if available. Thanks ever so much. Ken and Janet

It was our first time staying in a beautiful cabin like this. It was like in a dream. Our kids loved it - they didn't want to leave. My daughter loved the loft. It's very warm and cozy.

Thank you for letting us use your house. Hope we can stay here again next time.

Beautiful cabin in a spectacular part of the country. Came out to enjoy the west and go elk hunting (archery). I saw 17 elk (3 bulls), 17 mule deer, 5 bucks, 4 moose (2 bulls) and had a fantastic time. My wife enjoyed the comfort of your home as did I. Thank you!

Thanks again - this is our second time here and summer is as much fun as winter. This time instead of bringing our snowmobiles we brought our 4-wheelers, and still the country and trails were great. We love your cabin and here we feel most comfortable, all seven of us. (Maybe one of our next soon visits we'll bring a grandchild - hopefully soon!). I'm sure we'll be back, this is becoming a summer home to us.
Thanks again, The Cooks.
