I recently vacationed at 241 Barbados, Sapphire Village in Saint Thomas. First impressions are that the condo complex is very clean in appearance, nicely manicured, landscaped. The condo itself was more than a pleasant surprise as it was exceptionally clean, and well maintained a clear indication as to how well the condo is managed. It was very spacious and had views of the Caribbean from every room. The bedroom was spacious, well appointed and the bedding was luxurious and so comfortable! I slept so well there. The soothing trade winds and sounds of the ocean put me right to sleep. I enjoyed having a TV in the bedroom to watch the news before going to sleep. The view from the tiled terrace could be a scene from any Mediterranean villa; it overlooks the Caribbean and, St John Bay. You can see St John, and the British Virgin Islands. We had dinner on the terrace. The kitchen is very accommodating to cooking a nice dinner and all the cookware required to make and eat dinner is provided. I would recommend spraying some Mosquito Spray at night when you’re outside. The Mosquito on tropical Islands are small and you don’t even see or feel them until later. Noteworthy: while there I took notice of a couple of key things; first – this condo is much larger than others I “peeked” into while walking. I don’t know if all of the others are similar or not but this one is very spacious. Second – it’s worth mentioning twice – it is very clean and it showed! Third – there were no stairs to climb when entering from the parking area. The location was excellent, Sapphire Beach is right there and I went jogging every day around the Marina, beach and community. I even saw wild parrots. The resort has two pools, the one is like having your own private pool and it’s only a few yards from the door of the condo. There is also an outside shower. The quaint town of Red Hook is so close and we went there one evening and took the Ferry and went over to St John and for dinner. St Thomas gives you a feeling that its relatively safe, not like other Islands I have visited. Its small things like this that adds up to an overall wonderful experience.
The daily excursions to nearby beaches were a real treat. Every beach offers its own uniqueness and ocean life. Snorkeling in the calm waters off of Sapphire Beach was just outstanding! I saw sea turtles there, Coki beach is a favorite, try one of Boise’s Daiquiri drinks on beach! Saint Johns is only a 20 or 30-minute ferry ride. I highly recommend taking the Ferry over there to enjoy some of the most exclusive beaches in the world!! Nightlife is just right down the road at Duffy’s Love Shack in Red Hook, if you want to have some fun. But be careful not to over indulge. After 11 its 2-1 drinks! I was very pleased with this condo and highly recommend and will definitely be vacationing there again soon!!

| We spent a week in the condo at the end of June, and had a wonderful time. The condo itself was very clean and completely comfortable. The view from the balcony was one of the best views of the trip, and we relaxed outside after making drinks or food (the blender came in handy)nearly every day. The kitchen was well-stocked and had great appliances. The trade winds were great, and kept the condo from getting too hot; and the AC units definitely cooled it off quickly when it began to get too warm. The condo was easily accessible, no carrying luggage up any stairs, and a few steps away from a pool. We were happy that we decided to stay at Sapphire Beach, which was only a short walk from the condo. There we had some amazing snorkeling, seeing turtles and rays in the grass, and lots of fish along the coral. We also saw 15-20 iguanas along the marina, as well as friendly ducks. We traveled to St John and to Jost Van Dyke while there, and this location, close to the ferry at Redhook, was perfect for exploring the other islands. We also found everything we needed in Redhook, groceries, good restaurants, and other shops. We would definitely stay in this condo again, had an amazing time! |

| We stayed Dec 2008 at this unbelievable condo owned by Bill Sands. Over the past years I have stayed on St Thomas at Secret Harbor, Point Pleasant, and Sapphire Beach Resort, none which can hold a stick to this property Sapphire Village Resort at Sapphire Beach! We were so impressed how clean and bright the condo was, and oh what a VIEW! You can see St John and the BVI Islands. One of favorite place was enjoying coffee on the private deck enjoying the ocean breeze, and view. We also enjoyed the spaciousness of the unit, other places we stayed represented that their units as one bedroom condos, and when we got there it was a glorified hotel room or studio! This unit is a spacious one bedroom and we enjoyed the space. We picked up fresh fish just down the road, and prepared it in the fully equipped Mod. Kitchen. There is nothing like fresh caught seafood, we played games at the dining room table and on the deck. The living room offered a really comfortable sleep sofa for my son. The mattress was enhanced by a comfortable padding system. There is also a love seat, and a teak armed side chair. The one wall is all glass overlooking the ocean and you don’t even need the A/C the trade wind breeze was all we needed. We also enjoyed the privacy of having a separate bedroom with its own a/c control and TV. The bedroom is so comfortable. The sheets were Egyptian cotton and the furniture and art work was first class. We open the windows at night at we could hear the ocean. We also enjoyed the fact that the dressing room and vanity was separate from the showing area which allowed two people to use the bathroom at the same time. One final thought is the location of the unit…it’s the best… your in the middle floor of a three story condo building but from the driveway side you are a walk in so no staircase to climb or descend. A few steps away is a pool, and there is another pool just around the building which is more people due to the Bistro Restaurant so we choose the Pool by the unit, it was quit and is surrounded lush tropical plants and palms. There is an outside shower there which was convenient on beach days. We also enjoyed the location on the East End. We enjoyed the Village of Red Hook just a ½ mile away. We found everything we needed at the gourmet grocery store there, called Marina Market Shoppe. We also tried several restaurants and bars Molly’s Malone & Duffy’s both were great. One night we went to St John, the ferry is only like 20 minutes by boat and the terminal is right there in Red Hook. We really enjoyed Morgan Mangos restaurant on the waterfront in Cruz Bay and you will see it just outside of the Mongoose Junction shops. The ferry is cheap and Fun! If you snorkel Sapphire Beach is incredible! We saw sea turtles! Just down the road is a beach called Smith Bay Beach; a locally it is known as Lindquist Beach. It was better then the Beaches on St John and it’s our favorite. Thanks! We are coming back May 2009 |
