Phoenix Nest is Heaven on Earth... Soon, it will be my 5th visit to this most wonderful home. It provides everything that you could want for the perfect getaway. The Views are amazing from every room. The home is cozy, comfortable and inviting. The beds provide some of the best sleep you will ever have while listening to the sounds of the ocean. The kitchen has everything that you need including great views of the ocean and the forest that is behind the home along with deer in the yard. Each season brings something new for me to discover…it is always peaceful, private and relaxing. One of my greatest pleasures is sharing it with those that I love the most as I want them to have the same shear joy that I feel when I am here…Phoenix Nest has been the setting for some of the most wonderful memories that I will ever have and I will cherish them for all the rest of my life.
I have had the privilege of getting to know Pat over the last several years and she has always been gracious and caring. It has been like becoming part of a family. Thank you so much Pat and Sid for opening your home to us. You have touched our lives in a way that words can not express.
The hardest part of staying at the Phoenix Nest is leaving. I always find myself planning my next return just as I have arrived!

| Beautiful, stunning home! We spent 2 weeks touring N. Cali and during our vacation stayed in 3 different homes. This was our favorite! The interior is modern and cozy. The views are spectacular inside the house and out. The sectional sofa in the living room is the perfect place to spend a leisurely morning reading a good book because you have the view of the little harbour where 100s of sea lions played during our entire stay. The deck had comfy chairs to sit and enjoy the views. Our absolute favorite which came as a surprise to us (must not have read the descriptions close enough) was being able to take a walk to the nature preserve where we could get a closer look of the sea lions. It was amazing to watch them play and communicate with each other. They had so much personality and were so graceful! Loved it! We're all so lucky that Pat and Sid share their beautiful home! Thanks you for the wonderful experience! |

We loved our stay at the Phoenix Nest! We stayed there the end of April 2009. The views alone are priceless but the Phoenix Nest had everything else we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation. We enjoyed hot coffee in the morning while using the binoculars to search for sea lions and whales. Grilled steaks and chicken hot of the grill were delicious. Haven's Neck is extraordinary. Our only regret is we didn't stay long enough. We're looking forward to another visit soon.

| The Phoenix Nest is definitley a home away from home. The furnishings are warm and inviting and immaculate. The view is amazing and when my huband spotted whales on the horizon he was mesmerized (he is convinced they were blue whales). We found it hard to tear ourselves away to see the sites like the Point Arena Lighthouse and Manchester Beach which are worth the trip. Sitting in the hot tub in the evening gazing up at the enormous sky filled with stars is also a huge highlight of our visit. We first spent three days in Napa before coming to Phoenix Nest for three days wishing we had spent the entire time at Phoenix Nest. Kudos to Pat and Sid for going above and beyond offering their home. |

I learned that the whales that you saw were both blues and humpbacks! You hit the jackpot that week. I hope you return for the gray whale migration in November! Or perhaps come to see their calves when the mamas return in June. Warm regards, Pat

My husband and I stayed at Phoenix Nest the first week in July. We were there for a long awaited rest. Your house was perfect. If anyone is looking for a vacation home, look no more. There is nothing comparable to Phoenix Nest. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen had everything we could think of and was clean and open. The open space of the living and ding rooms with a view everywhere. I sat on the wrap around sofa and I couldn't even concentrate on my book, because the ocean was right there! We didn't sight see at all because we were so content at the house. I woke up one morning and sat up in bed, there was a deer looking in the window at me! I went to sllep to the sound of crashing waves and sea lions. I have rented many homes off VRBO, and I always read the reviews. This house far exceeded my expectations. I was also impressed with the wheelchair access. Someone in a wheelchair would be able to manage nicely in this home. My soul thanks you........ |

Words cannot begin to describe our experience at Phoenix Nest. From the first moment we were mesmerized by the beauty and grandeur of the home and landscape and continued to be until we had to pry ourselves away to come back to Texas. Your Internet description fell far short of what we actually received.
From the barking of the sea lions to the pheasant at St. Orres, we were constantly amazed as well as relaxed (we did try the praline basket and it was so good). We explored as much as we could in four days and would have spent a lifetime if we could. We do plan rise again out of the Texas heat and visit Phoenix Nest again as soon as possible.
Thanks again for allowing us to use your home and for providing such a clean and comfortable place to rest our weary bones. It was refreshing and uplifting.

We had the most wonderful time at Phoenix Nest! The location is unbeatable, the house so beautifully renovated and spotlessly clean, equipped with everything one needs and hopes for, and the view from the deck is gorgeous at any time of day. Thank you, Pat, for being so helpful and considerate! This was our second stay at your home, and we wish we could just turn around and go right back to this gem on the Pacific! |

We had a wonderful week at Phoenix Nest, the sun came out every day, tempratures touching 70 degrees every day with a niceonshore breeze, perfect. we were welcomed wit a bottle of Champers, couresy of pat the owner, lovely touch. Phoenix nest was so lovely and to wake up to that view, across the bay and see the sea lionsevery morning without putting a foot on the floor was just amazing I played golf twice at Sea Ranch,a lovely course with more views over the sea and only 15 minutes away by car, ideal. We had our first outdoor hot tub, how nice was that!! nature plays a big part in the enjoyment of Phoenix Nest, with deer, sea lions, seals and Ospreys coming to call, we even got a video of the Osprey catching and carrying a fish in its tallons, a memory we will keep forever. Phoenix Nest Is very spacious with a large outside deck overlooking the bay and has every thing you need for a great holiday. If your reading this and thinking about going their, stop thinking and pick up the phone, you will love it!! |

WOW!!!! What an experience and pleasure to be guests of Pat and Sid at Phoenix Nest. The minute we walked into the great room area with the 180 degree full ocean view to our last morning with Champagne (graciously provided by our hosts) and OJ in the hot tub, we knew we would return to this haven. Great walk through the uninhabitated reserve. Every need addressed throughout the house. It is indeed a retreat and will make you forget the every day stresses of life. | Five days at the Phoenix Nest in March were just fabulous. The house was very comfortable and the view fantastic. It didn't matter that the weather on some of the days was less than ideal; we just curled up on that sofa, looked at that incredible view and caught up on some neglected reading. Heaven! A big bonus was not having wi-fi and not being able to use our cell phones. Yes! Total relaxation on one of the prettiest places on the planet! |

| We spent 10 days in this heavenly location, with views... even this sites "well done" pictures cannot convey! We took Day trips to Mendocino, local wineries and various other beach locations for picnics and hiking. The private beach is for the very hearty only. We cooked all our meals in,and enjoyed the hot tub while watching the sunsets and meteor shower!! |

| We have rented many vacation homes in the past but we have never seen one as quiet and peaceful as Phoenix Nest. The neighboring homes are a good distance away and almost every window has a view. The home is well kept and stocked with nice dishes, pots and pans and everything else you might need. We enjoyed every minute of our one weeks stay and did not want to leave. |

We were lucky to celebrate are 33rd anniversary at Phoenix Nest and now that we found it, plan on returning. We've stayed at various locations including Sea Rock Inn in Mendocino and Serenisea's "Castlerock" in Gualala which had a very impressive view but nothing can compare with the VIEWS at Phoenix Nest. The views were absolutely breathtaking!! The owners were very nice to speak with and their home showed pride of ownership. We can't say enough about this fantastic home other than to say, if you plan on staying in the Mendocino area, this home is a must to reserve. You won't be disappointed! | As soon as we walked into the door, we knew we were somewhere special. This is a beautiful, cozy, welcoming home. The photos just can't do it justice. And the views are beyond breathtaking.....we enjoyed our days on Haven's Neck, on the deck, in the hot tub, exploring the area, just soaking up the tranquility and beauty. Even the stunning photos do not do Phoenix Nest justice. Three friends and I just returned from an amazing weekend stay, and are still glowing from the experience!
The house is set up such that being indoors -- doesn't feel like it! The kitchen faces greenery and trees, every room has direct ocean views, and the home is airy and spacious. It's clear that both architect and owner(s) adore this home, and have treated it accordingly.
You won't need to bring a thing besides your maybe weary soul... this place will replenish you inside and out. The kitchen is stocked with cook and dishware, glasses, and basic spices, and the bedrooms are ready to go, complete with several thoughtfully selected books and CDs, as well as bathrooms with essential toiletries. There are two fireplaces, and, of course, a hot tub under the stars! The patio is perfect for breakfast (or coffee, or wine, or sunsets, or stargazing...).
We didn't go hiking, beachcombing, shopping, or even fine-dining (canceled our reservations!) because we were so content to be in this marvelous place. If you need a relaxing getaway, you've found it. And last but certainly not least, the regular communication with and warmth from Pat made this vacation four-star. I truly look forward to returning. |

| 10-18-06 The wife and I were just looking for a place to get away for a few days. We were lucky enough to find this place. If you plan on cooking at all,we did because the sunsets at night are great. It was so peaseful and quite. Having the son and grandson living with us, we did't know how to act. I cooked a really nice dinner the second night, and happend to remember candle stick holders and candles. The views from the upstairs are awsome or downstairs in the bedroom with the fireplace. The spa is right out side your door. There is nothing like sitting in a spa with your favorite beverage and a cigar, listening to the sound of the sealions in the morning and the waves at night. We took drives everyday. Mendicno, fort bragg and two winerys on hy #128 out of Albion. we stopped at Hush and Esterlina. Great drive BIg redwoods. The last day we cooked a great breakfast and sat at the table to enjoy the last few hours of heaven. We deffinetly will return. there is no need to look any further for a place that is as peaceful or with the ocean views that this house as to offer. The owner Pat is the best to work with! The weather was great,a little fog one morning, but lifted by noon. Thanks again for letting us experience for a short time, the life we wish we could all have. |

We had the good fortune of first staying at the Phoenix Nest some 10 years ago. Since that time, we have vacationed there on a regular basis in all four seasons and for many celebrations with friends and family, or just the two of us. We travel extensively and it remains is our single favorite California getaway home.
The Phoenix Nest is a beautiful and serene place to relax and restore. The recently renovated living, family and dining rooms all provide spectacular views of ocean and bluffs below. The downstairs bedroom has fantastic views of the ocean and a rock mantle fireplace for winter nights. The hot tub is just outside the master bedroom overlooking the crashing waves. The multitude of stars offer a dazzling show at night. The ample deck area is perfect for having meals and barbeques or to just sit in the Adirondack chairs with your feet up, sipping wine and watching the seabirds, migrating whales or stunning sunsets.
When we want to be more active, there are many nearby hiking paths along the ocean front, kayaking, golf, local festivals, art galleries, wineries and specialty bakeries to visit and sample. All the necessary services and some fine restaurants can be found in Anchor Bay , Gualala and Point Arena--all within a few miles of the house. There is a farmer’s market every Saturday where you can buy fresh vegetables and local produce. The local people are friendly and accommodating.
We highly recommend staying at Phoenix Nest. The owners are particularly helpful and accommodating.

| Words just cannot describe the wonderful stay we had at your home. Thank you for opening up your bit of paradise to us. The sea lions and whales seemed to be there just for us. We saw an incredible sunset on Friday night! On Saturday, we went up to the light house at Point Arena and then that night cooked a fabulous dinner, (thank you for the champagne) and then turned out the lights and just gazed out the window as the horizon faded into the night. Waking up to the ocean is something we won't ever forget and yes we will be back. K & M 02-11-05 |

This house must have been designed by someone who loves the California coast--every window invites you to stop and fill your eyes with the enchanting view it offers, whether it be the sea or land.
