The time spent in your beautiful home was a special part of our New Zealand vacation. We enjoyed the time on the deck, gazing at the milky way. We loved the small town of Mapua and the platters offered at the local wineries.

A wonderful week spent in this beautiful cottage, Nelson and the surrounding area. Loved Mapua Wharf - Smokehouse Cafe awesome and The Aquarium a big hit! Day trip and short tramp through Abel Tasman then stop off at Jesters Cafe - perfect! Nelson Market and browsing the shops. Rabbit Island for cricket and of course wandering down to the water and listening to the wildlife here at Twisted Pine cottage. It's been lovely :-)

My husband and I travel alot and we have stayed in many lovely places, but Twisted Pine is really special. The house and furnishings are exceptional, so beautiful, that you wouldn't expect to find them in a holiday let. The feeling of light and space and the magical views add to the pleasure of being here. And, there is so much to see in this area that we have only scratched the surface in four days. Happy to have found this place.

Nice place location wise, but not many provisions were provided such as bath soap, diswasher soap. Had to even go out and purchase garbage bags for rubbish. We've rented at many places worldwide and this was a new one for us. Quite an inconvenience to go into town and purchase a garbage bag while on holiday.

Homeowner Response:
Dear Karen,
I just received your feedback and you are the first negative response we’ve had over the two years since we started.
I will apologise for the lack of soap as it is supplied I did not check the cottage again after the cleaner had finished.
It would have just taken a moment for you to ask me when I came to see you to ask if everything was in order and if there was anything you needed.
We however do have ample recycled plastic bags for rubbish in the bottom of the pantry cupboard and there was a big rubbish bin outside the cottage.
The majority of renters for holiday cottages in New Zealand disposed of their own rubbish when they leave especially in rural areas.
Guest who stay for a week normally buy the council rubbish bags when they do their grocery shopping so I hope you did not make a special trip.
Best regards Pauline

We were lucky to visit the Evills and stay at Twisted Pine Cottage for a few blissful days – If it was any more romantic we would have got married there and moved in. We will be back for our honeymoon. Fane Flaws & Jo Blogg (engaged to be married)

What a great way to have it all! Peace and quite overlooking the estuary in a chic, charming house - and only 25 minutes to all the shops, restaurants, market, activities of Nelson. The wonderful vineyards are so closeby. This is definitely a place to unwind!

I just thought I’d drop a line to you now we’re back home in old Blighty to let you know what a fine time we had in your cottage; if only it could have been longer! It’s so nice to stay somewhere where there’s decent new equipment and furnishings, in fact everything, rather that some cast-offs that’ll “do for the holiday home”. We particularly liked the woodburner and the bathroom floor heating as it was a pretty cold spell during our stay. And the views? Well, what more could you want?! If I had one suggestion to make it better, particularly for a winter stay, it would be nice to have the woodburner already going but damped down and the bathroom underfloor heating on prior to guests arriving. That said, we had a most enjoyable stay in what was the best place we had stayed in during our whole stay in NZ, and California afterwards. We’d certainly look you up again should we return.

We had a delightful stay in February, what a beautiful spot, away from it all but 15 minutes drive from action if you want it. The cottage is lovely, imaginatively decorated and furnished, light, airy and spacious and very comfortable. Excellent value compared to other stays in NZ - would definitely visit again if we find ourselves in that part of the world in the future.Highly recommended to those seeking peace and tranquility with style.
