| We had such a great time at the Blue Dolphin. Your place is beautiful, the upstairs is exceptional, and I can't thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to be there. Betsy and Eva were a blessing. Made lots of new friends on the island and good times were had by all! |

I spent the second of two idyllic weeks - in February this year - at the Blue Dolphin on Harbour Island, Bahamas, and I've already signed up for a third in 2009! For those looking for a low key tropical beach vacation with a sense of community, this is definitely the spot; if you're expecting Miami Beach, look elsewhere! There are a few small, elegant hotels but no high-rise condos. Instead, there are beautiful, colorful, manicured homes, facing the bay or the ocean, and the Blue Dolphin - on the bay, 5 minutes by golf cart to the pink beach - is among the loveliest. The 5-bedroom, 5-bath house is well-appointed and staffed - a cook and a housekeeper - and is immaculate, roomy and charming. And what a joy it is to sit at sunset with a cocktail on one of the four porches, two down, two up - taking in the awesome view! Or in the flowering garden in the morning with a cup of coffee. One of the unique aspects of this island is that visitors and locals co-exist in divine harmony; I've rarely met such a friendly, welcoming - "Morning, Morning" - local population. En route to the expansive but never-crowded beach, one passes a cafe, a liquor store, a grocery store, a bakery, an ice-cream parlor, several small clothing shops, an art gallery, a church and a cemetery, not to mention the occasional rooster, keeping close watch on a hen and chicks in the backyard of one of the year-round residents! In other words, you are a participant in the life of a real village. There's a yacht basin, several fine restaurants and a night club or two, Gusty's being the most famous. Some friends reported seeing Cameron Diaz and Uma Thurman there in December! A social membership in the Coral Sands Resort - with free use of the beach amenitites, pool and tennis courts - comes with the house. All in all, I simply cannot imagine a more perfect spot for a stress-free, relaxing getaway. It's paradise!

"We all had a really good time while we were there and thought that the improvements to the house were great. I loved all of the extra balconies and (while I haven’t seen tons of other homes) really think the back yard must be special.
I doubt there are many locations that offer as much in terms of the overall package - gorgeous beaches; low key, friendly people; ease of getting around and the access to an occasional lovely meal out. And with kids having the beach right next to a pool while still being able to get to your own house with enclosed outdoor space (fully fenced yard), nothing beats it. It is a special place."

"We had so much fun in Harbour Island and really enjoyed staying at the Blue Dolphin. I love the floor plan of the house with the addition, and it worked perfectly for my family and friends. You are so lucky to have such a great house on a fun and beautiful island. Betsy (maid) was wonderful, and we ended up going to her church on Easter Sunday, what a treat! . . . We have such good memories of Harbour Island and always come home planning our next trip back."

"Three generations of our family living in different areas of the U.K. were united on Harbour Island for a family wedding. The occasion exceeded all our expectations and the second week was made perfect by the tranquility of the Blue Dolphin."

"What a great place . . . We've been coming to Harbour Is. for 16 years and this is the most user friendly of them all. The social membership at the Coral Sands is a major plus. Your notebook with all the island info. is another great asset."
