When we walked in the door we could'nt believe how beautiful it was and that we were blessed enough to get to stay there. Everything was perfect it was more than we expected and we didn't want to leave. Thankyou so much for your warm and generous hospitality and for the love that you put into every detail of this beautiful home. We will be back!!!

| Me and five of my girlfriends take a long weekend every year and this year, we stayed in your beautiful home. I cannot begin to tell you just how much we enjoyed being there....the house is full of small little touches that make it feel so homey & cozy. The views are just stunning. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin. My 4 yr old daughter decided she wanted to stay there forever! Although it rained and hailed during our stay, we had a lovely time!
My kids (son 2, daughter 4) loved the chipmunks, squirrels, birds and we saw 3 deer next to the house too! They were constantly asking to go on "adventures" into the forest, which we did as soon as the weather was clear. My daughter loved the "unicorn horns" (pointed shells at the front) and son liked the "tiger swing" (tire swing), as he called it. We all definitely want to repeat this experience. Thank you for making this such a memorable first holiday for my kids!
We stopped at Cripple creek and rode on the train, but due to inclement weather, had to skip the mine (until next time). We also got to see the Dinosaur museum and the Wolf sanctuary which were awesome!

Top four highlights of staying in your beautiful cabin:
1. No HUMIDITY and cool temps. (We are from Iowa)
2. Such a serene and natural environment(loved watching and feeding the raucous Stellar's jays,chickadees, nuthatches and fleet-footed chipmunks and ground squirrels, oh, and having the bear visit the metal garbage cans. The stars and meteor shower weren't bad either.
3. Cozy, but roomy cabin. Exceptionally clean and well-kept.
4. Our trips to The Wolf Center (!!!!),shopping in Manitou Springs,driving to the summit of Pike's Peak, rafting the Gorge, and horseback riding in the Garden of the Gods.

Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home! The cabin was very well appointed and decorated and the views were breathtaking. With the property being at such a high elevation (9100 ft), the weather was so nice and cool compared to the Texas heat.
We enjoyed the seclusion and would love to stay again sometime in the future. Thanks again!! |

Marc and Angel,
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful mountain cabin with us. Our entire family enjoyed watching all of the chipmunks playing outside, and seeing the deer roam in the yard. We even saw a fox come into our yard one evening. The kids were so excited!! The cabin was so nice and cozy. We enjoyed smores at night by the fire, and loved hiking in the nearby woods. I can't wait to bring my family back to your cabin again soon. We were all sad to leave and return home. Thanks again for allowing us to have such a great family retreat in your cabin. We arrived at your cabin on Wednesday and we're amazed at how beautiful everything was. The view from the deck was like nothing we had seen before, the deer were just a foot from us most mornings. (A great place to drink a cup of coffee.) The howling of the coyotes was an awesome thing to hear. We saw so much wildlife during the week that we didn't feel the need to go to the zoo. With four couples staying, we never felt crowded. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful cabin and for being so kind! We had a blast and we will be back again in the near future!!! |

| We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin with our children and grandchildren. We built a snowman near the bench while enjoying the view. A long walk through Pike National Forest ended with an awesome view of Pikes Peak. Marc and Angel were unusually accommodating to our needs. We all hope to return next year. |

| This cabin was wonderful! It had everything you could want on a vacation,I have 4 kids and we went in early spring so there was a chance for snow, I was really worried if there was a day we could not go outside they would get bored, NO WAY! There were a ton of games and DVD's for them to watch. |

This cabin was beautiful! It was a perfect week for my friends and I to spend away from school and work. We visited during our college's spring break, and had a great time just relaxing and visiting places such as; garden of the gods, pikes peak, cave of the winds, ghost town, cliff dwellings, hungry bear cafe, jans cafe, rock gym in colorado springs, and much more.
I highly reccommend this cabin, and plan on returning again in the future. |

You have a beautiful home and is fixed up so cute. I loved it!!!! Just being up in the mountains was being in peace. The view was wonderful. I can't find the words to express how nice it was. We enjoyed the deer and the chipmunks which was hilarious.The views were Awesome. Being able to have a fire in September was so nice. We played cards for hours. I cannot find the words to express how happy we were staying at your home! My daughter loved the chipmunks and deer and staying in the Bear Room. I loved being able to utlize the fully-stocked kitchen and grill as we prefer to cook than eat out all the time. We loved the quiet--I don't remember the last time I sat outside in complete silence, being able to look at the thousands of stars. I was equally pleased to be close but not too close to the towns nearby, as we love isolation when vacationing! I think your prices were VERY fair for all we got. I would highly recommend it!

| It was a pleasure staying at a beautiful home in the mountains. This is the first time my 3 children experienced Colorado and it's rich scenery. We had a lovely vacation. Marc and Angel were wonderful "hosts" even though I have never met them! My youngest son loved leading us up the "deer trail". The morning's were spectacular, and the views were something we will never forget. |

| We had a great vacation. Your home was excellent. Deer came by every day to visit along with the chipmunks who kept us entertained. All the major sights (Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods )are nearby. We even had a chance to visit the Farmers Market in Woodland Park where we were able to pick up some good bargains. Sitting outside on the patio every evening and enjoying the cool weather was great. We hope to come back again. |

Thank you both for all you did to make our Son's Senior Trip an everlasting, wonderful experience. Angel, you were so easy to contact and willing to help with any questions we had before our arrival all the way from Louisiana. The cabin was truly beautiful with all the amazing special touches. The bedrooms worked out great with plenty of room. Thank you for having a grill for us. The back patio deck was wonderful for cooking out or a quiet cup of coffee before the guys woke up in the morning. The guys looked forward to returning each evening to the cabin after, rock climbing, white water rafting, or two days of hiking Pikes Peak. Kyle is so thankful that your cleaning lady found his camera in the cabin after we left. You are truly wonderful people. We hope to return again someday soon. |

We had a wonderful time at your home. It was perfect for our family!
The fireplace was a hit with the kids. There were only two days we did not have a fire at some point in the neat iron stove during the evening or early morning.
My daughter was elated with having the washer and dryer to keep up with the
laundry of her small children. She took care of ours too!) Thank you for the supply of birdseed. That was quite entertaining for us all to see the chipmunks, squirrels and birds. Two-year old Nicholas was always on chipmunk alert and kept us quite entertained. Thank you again for offering your home as a vacation retreat. It is really a beautiful area to have a home located and the surroundings were amazing. The decor and furnishings in the home gave us a feeling of it being our very own "home away from home." We will have many fond memories of our grandsons' very first visit to the Colorado Rockies summer 2008. God Bless!

| We are so glad to have shared Marc & Angel's house on their little piece of paradise ! The drive through National Forest to their home was so charming and then to arrive at their beautiful, secluded log-sided cabin was enchanting. The beautiful finishes throughout the house, the fenced yard for our dog, the sled hill for laughs & the deer trail to view the Sangre de Cristo mountains was so perfect we never wanted to leave the house. But finally forced ourselves out to tour the Fossil Beds (which were fascinating), fish along 11-mile Canyon (caught lots) & hiked in the National Forest (which is just up the street). Charming, relaxing & a perfect break from our busy lifestyle. Coffee on the back deck, snacks on the private bench & wine by the wood burner... we couldn't have asked for more ! Marc & Angel helped us have a magical vacation ! See you again next year (& we will bring some friends)!!!! |

| We had a wonderful time at this cozy, friendly mountain home. The furniture and decorations set a wonderful mountain retreat mood. We had coffee while watching the birds and squirrels feed outside the window and then snow shoed up to the bench and saw the nice views and lots of wildlife tracks. This is just the right place for a comfortable and relaxing time away from it all. |

| We enjoyed so many nice surprises during our stay. Delightful fun accents made me laugh. Looking out the kitchen window at night,the view of illuminated grasses from the walkway lights was magical; and then after breakfast, we saw two young bucks out the kitchen window. We hiked around the quartz quarry, a visual wonderland, and spotted and photographed a beautiful red fox we interrupted from a nap. I hiked to the bench, saw kinnikkinnik loaded with berries,lots of flowers,small white daisies...,and the view when I turned around to see what was behind me was delicious, valley aspens and mountain ranges... wow. And we soaked up the bright stars and the relaxing nurturing comforts of this beautiful home. Many Thanks for your attention to details that delight. |

This was a perfect setting for our family's birthday and anniversary celebrations. It was so cozy and atmospheric. We loved hiking to the bench with a view and also hand feeding the birds. What a wonderful vacation! It looks exactly like the pictures. Very secluded, yet so convenient to everything you could every want to do. Marc and Angel were wonderful...calling to make sure we found it ok, sending favorite hiking spots and attractions...above and beyond on SO MANY levels! | We were lucky enough to spend the whole month of June in this whimsical, magical cabin! It was a dream come true! The seclusion and peace bring rest to a tired and weary spirit, and the proximity to all the area attractions make everything so convenient. It is really the best of both worlds. If you really want to connect with nature and each other this is the place to be. Marc and Angel Dettenreider are the perfect hosts and are right on top of things. We have built such a rapport with them we now consider them our friends. My children and I were really misty-eyed as we had to leave "our" little cabin, but we are determined to visit again and again. I have stayed in many beautiful bed and breakfast inns and other luxury lodgings, but this cabin is something special. It is magical and has cast its spell upon me and my family! A must stay for anyone who loves the mountains! |
