| My family decided to have a "stress free" Thanksgiving in the mountains. Just the 4 of us! The cabin was wonderful. My husband took our two children on a walk Thanksgiving morning while I cooked dinner (Yes, I was able to cook a holiday meal!!). My children loved sleeping in their loft bunks and had a great time exploring. The cabin was big enough we were not under each other's feet and was very (very) clean. We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the creek. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to unwind! |

My Husband, Two year old son, and my parents spent easter weekend on Cripple Creek at the Barefoot Cabin. We were thrilled with the cabin and impressed at the lengths that the owners went to ensure that we had everything that we needed. We spent a great deal of time sitting outdoors on the secured balcony and we enjoyed a beautiful campfire under a clear country sky. I would recommend this cabin in a heartbeat. If you are staying here, be aware that it is a very rural location and you should come prepared with all groceries and items you will need for your visit.

| Words cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay at Barefoot Cabin. We drove site unseen 14 hours from Louisiana pulling a U-Haul trailer. Needless to say we were a little high on expectation. As we topped the final hill in our approach, we rolled down our windows. We all squealed as we heard the babbling creek. We fished, we rolled down the hill, we played football, we rode bikes, we took excursions, we spent hours by the fire, we cuddled, we waded in the creek, we cooked, we ate, we bird watched, we star gazed, and, most importantly, we made a memory. My husband and I (as well as our five children, ages 2 - 11) highly recommend that you visit Barefoot Cabin at least once. We will be back. |

We visited at Barefoot Cabin from Dec. 26-30 and had a wonderful time. Our son, his wife and 15-year old son, 5-year-old son and 3-year-old son from flat, sunbaked Texas, plus our daughter from Knoxville, TN, were with my husband and I. Granted, the weather was not as good as if it had been another season but we knew that when we rented it.
The cabin and its grounds are everything it claims to be. It was immaculately clean, completely and well-furnished, provided extra blankets, adequate baseboard heat and plenty of firewood for the wood-burning stove.
In this winter season, one home can be seen at a distance on the other side of the creek (and one rooster can be heard proving this is indeed the country) and the beautiful creek is not far from the cabin.
Our whole family enjoyed our visit to "The Cripple Creek Cabin" as we called it and would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you, Cindy and Sam, for a relaxing, carefree experience. It is truly a place to rest and unwind. |
