We three, lady friends, returned to Vallarta for a different kind of adventure this year. We stayed together at Casa Corona for a month. This was the ideal villa for our needs. With 3 floors, three full bathrooms and 2 complete kitchens furnished with all the amenities we each had adequate space to stakeout a private territory. We were easily able to accommodate a visit from one daughter for a couple of weeks and then one family of 2 kids and 2 grandkids for a week.
The truly great thing about Casa Corona was the feeling of being at home while away from home. The owners have created a fabulous serene sanctuary in the centre of Vallarta. As soon as you cross the threshold and enter the courtyard you just want to pull up a lounge chair on the sundeck and day or night…
time stops.
Casa Corona, in the heart of Vallarta, offers you the choice to walk, bus or taxi anywhere in a matter of minutes. Transportation is only a whistle away. The only time you might want a car would be if you wanted to explore the neighboring towns or beaches, but you can also hire a guide with a vehicle to drive you around at a quite reasonable price.

Our vacation wasn’t quite the exciting adventure that we originally planned this year as one in our group needed the expertise of the CMQ hospital for a week with continued visits to the specialist doctor while recovering. Isn’t it interesting how sometimes you don’t get what you asked for, but you get just what you need. Casa Corona, CMQ, Vallarta, and the people that we shared our month with were just what we all needed at the time.

Casa Corona………highly recommended as a home base for an adventure waiting to unfold for you.

We stayed at Casa Corona for a week last January and would highly recommend it. The home is beautiful and very comfortable. The lower bedroom is especially nice as it opens into a tropical garden walkway. The kitchen and baths are updated and very pleasant. The rooftop patio is superb, with a second kitchen and family room area.

We especially enjoyed the location of the home as it is set in one of the native neighborhoods yet walking distance to shopping and the beach. This location allowed us to observe the true culture of the area while still having access to resort locations.

We were so pleased with our choice of Casa Corona - it doesn't disappoint.

Puerto Vallarta was our destination for spring break, 2007. Our group was made up of one couple, three moms and two teenage girls. Casa Corona offered the ideal accomodations for us! The couple had the 2nd floor bedroom with it's own bath. The moms got the 1st floor bedroom (with 2 twins and a futon)and it's own bath. The teenagers got the 3rd floor open-air sun deck with futons and it's own bath. Imagine, having 6 women in one place for a whole week and having sufficient bathroom time! Unheard of! Not only that, but P.V. is so diverse in it's offerings that we were able to find activities of interest for everyone. We shopped, strolled the Malecon, para-sailed, shopped, snorkeled, did canopy tours (zip-lines over lush canyons), relaxed and read books, shopped, went out to eat, sun-bathed, shopped and enjoyed morning brunches and afternoon margaritas on the sun deck. On yes, and did I happen to mention the shopping? (Remember, there were 6 women!) All this, and maid service too! What more could you ask for in a vacation? Cheryl and Rick, the owners also had great resources available for local sights, restaurants and activities. I would highly recommend Casa Corona as a cost-effective, slice of local culture alternative to mega-hotels. The place is absolutely beautiful too! Casa Corona works for couples, families, or a mix like ours. I would not hesitate to go again.

We stayed at Casa Corona for our honeymoon and loved it! We loved staying in a home and being surrounded by the culture of Puerto Vallarta, rather than being contained in a large resort or hotel. The home is absolutely beautiful, and the view and comfort of the sun deck cannot be compared. The home is conveniently located to shops, restaurants (especially close to our favorite -- Cafe de Artiste), and the water. We walked everywhere. We would highly recommend Casa Corona.

Having stayed at the big box "resorts" in town as well as at this charming, comfortable and ideally located home I unequivocally encourage you to consider this quaint and convenient spot to appreciate the history, culture and local flavor of P.V. Very convenient, comfortable, spacious and romantic for one or two couples, plus kids. I'd do it again in a heart beat rather than the huge, timeshare type hotels. Walking to art galleries, dinner spots, local color and flavor make it ideal for the adventurous who want to enjoy and relax in old Mexico style.

We are very pleased that you have decided to stay at Casa Corona. We have owned the home since 1995 and consider it a very special second home. Puerto Vallarta has always had a village type charm about it. Casa Corona was the very first home built on Corona Street and is a very good example of this historic charm that will make you want to come back again and again!

Our neighborhood is comprised of traditional Hispanic families with just enough “gringos” throw in to “spice things up”. In the mornings you will see all the children head down the hill in their school uniforms. You may see a neighbor out sweeping the cobblestone street as it each household’s responsibility to keep the cobblestone in front of their home clean to the middle of the street. Make sure to say “Buenos Dias, como esta usted?” to the neighbors that you see. Quite often you will see a team of burros hauling building supplies up the mountain as the street ends just past our home. The burros will be loaded down with sand, concrete, rocks, or even bricks! The sundeck balcony is a good place to take a photo of this activity.

As we have added to the home we have tried to ensure that we maintained the traditional Mexican-style designs and décor. You will notice that the windows do not have any glass in them, only wood shutters and wrought iron. This is part of the traditional charm! When our home was built there was not even any window glass for salein Puerto Vallarta! You will soon enjoy hearing the rooster alarm clocks that wake you each morning! If you really think this will bother you, you can always pack a set of ear plugs!!We have tried to keep Casa Corona open and airy and hope that you will enjoy the wonderful fresh air!

The sundeck on the third level is a place you will enjoy “living in” throughout the day. Breakfast up there is a wonderful way to start the day and gives you a pleasant ocean view while you plan your day! The deck is wonderful place to spend the afternoon lying on the lounges or in the hammock reading a book. You will certainly enjoy viewing the sunset while sipping your margaritas. You should make sure to return to the sun deck to catch the fireworks set off from the ocean around 9 p.m. at least one night during your stay!

One of the things that we enjoy about Casa Corona is that it is within walking distance of most of the sights and places you will want to see while you are here. We have included some samples of restaurants, sights to see, and other tourist information in this booklet to help make your stay a memorable one!

We have tried to ensure that Casa Corona feel like a home! We hope you feel at home while you are staying here and that you will treat it with the same respect you treat your home!

ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY!!!
