| What an amazing place to stay. Everything was so close to the apartment that we could walk everywhere and if not the water taxi was only 5 min.away. We would highly recommend this apartment for location as well as for the apartment itself. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was perfect. Very quite also so you can get the sleep that you need to explore the amazing city of Venice. We would love to go back and stay there again. Enrico was a very good host with lots of information about the area and things to see and do. Thank you very much for the CD and Balsamic vinegar. |

Excellent apartment in a quiet area of Venice. Everything is so close to this place (do not let the map deceive you). Enrico and his friend Claudio met us at the vaporetto stop and helped us with our luggage to the apartment. Enrico is extremely friendly and meticulously organized with the workings of the apartment, recommendations for food, sightseeing, etc. We kind of felt like Venetians during our brief stay. Oh, there is a great little shop around the corner that sells great meats, breads, wine, beer, etc. Will try to come back in the near future.

| We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the apartment, which has every convenience you need. It was our third visit to Venice and definitely the most comfortable and most central location. We only needed to use one vaporetto ride [which are very expensive], on the first evening. We walked everywhere easily. The local area is very safe to walk around even at night, very nice and way cheaper than the San Marco area. Antica Birraria in San Polo and the cafes in the Campo's Dei Frari, Santa Margherita and San Barnaba are great. Supermarkets are close too. Enrico gave us plenty of good information and a warm welcome, even though our flight came in very late. He even took us to the local pub! |

| Wow! Venice was fabulous but nothing compared to our wonderful host Enrico! Enrico welcomed us to his home as if we were family, encouraged us to call him if there were any challenges or difficulties or we simply got lost in Venice (which we did but it was fun finding our way back). Meeting people like Enrico makes traveling so worthwhile! The apartment was fabulous, clean and quiet! It was in a great location for enjoying all of the nightlife and delicious restaurants that Venice had to offer. It was a managable and entertaining walk to St. Mark's square and everything else that Venice had to offer. When we come back we will definently visit Enrico's place again and recommend it to all of our friends and family! |

| We stayed for one week in July at this well located apartment. Enrico's cousin waited for us graciously at the vaporetto stop even though we were almost one hour late. Enrico stocks the pantry with enough food for a couple of meals, and other staples. You may reach Enrico on the land phone that is in the apartment. There is a well stocked library of travel and other pleasurable books for your perusal. The washing machine is a plus, as well as the blue shower. There are two fans which helped during the hot weather. |

August 6, 2009: Vinay and I arrived in beautiful Venice. Enrico was waiting for us when we disembarked from the waterbus. I knew at that moment that we were in good hands. Enrico showed us how to get to his beautiful apartment that we were so lucky to have for one glorious week. Enrico and his wife (she was waiting at the aprtment for us)explained Venice to us in such great detail that we felt that we have been there forever. I love Venice....so many things to do and not enough time. Enrico and his lovely wife gave us a DVD of the carnival that is so very popular in Venice. We watched this upon our return to the states and were rather sad because our vacation was over. Enrico and his lovely wife also gave us a bottle of balsamic vinegar....I use this all the time. It is the best. I found the website that sells this yummy vinegar but I can not make out what it says (it is in italian). I could ramble on forever about Enrico, his wife, the beauty of Venice and the lovely apartment but I won't. All I have to say to anyone who is thinking about going to Venice is that you should contact Enrico and stay at his apartment. You will not regret it. I hope to venture back to Italy in the near future and Enrico will be the one I call when I am in Venice.

| If you want to spend a wonderful time in Venice, Enrico's apartment is ideal for you. It is located in a narrow street in Santa Croce quarter, so living there you can feel as a real Venetian. Enrico is a very helpful and gentle person, his knowledge about Venice, its restaurants, shops, neighbourhoods is priceless. The apartment is very well equipped and very pleasant in hot summer days. I lived there one week with my wife and we are sure we will be back in this place some day. |

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this cosy flat. Enrico anticipates all his guests' needs. We enjoyed living in a friendly neighborhood with all conveniences nearby. All our dealings with Enrico were a pleasure. When we return to Venice we will definitely stay in one of his properties. |

| The only thing nicer than the apartment is Enrico, himself. We, too, got a magnificent tour of the "vicino" with "points of reference" so we could find our way back to the flat after a night out! Enrico also took us to the Rialto mercato and introduced us to his friends there as well as the Ristorante al Ponte Storto (highly recommended!) where we ate that night. The flat is perfect size for a couple, with very workable kitchen and king-size "letto matrimoniale". We also found it most convenient, walking distance to everywhere, and close to both San Stae and San Silvestro vaporetto stops. I would definitely stay here again, and have recommended it to friends. |

We had such a wonderful time in Venice, and having this nice pied-a-terre there waiting for us at night was part of it. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, though we got very lost among its tiny canals and bridges on our first venture toward Campo San Polo. We do recommend having a very good map and orienting yourself in both directions along Calle di Chiesa/Calle Lunga before venturing anywhere other than the San Stae vaporetto stop. The neighborhood offered various interesting sites, and we particularly liked the Ca' Mocenigo's well-presented rooms and costume cases and that opportunity to get inside a pallazzo. The map we got when buying a museum pass there was the best we've seen of this neighborhood and Venice in general. The apartment itself is very clean and welcoming, with the aforementioned comfortable bed and glowing blue shower, and like so many others we enjoyed Enrico and Giovanna's warm welcome. |

We stayed here in June 2009 with our one year old. The apartment was a wonderful location, very cute, and had everything we needed. Enrico made our visit amazing. He went out of his way to provide us with everything we needed, suggestions of restaurants, and things to do in the area. He even went out and got us a baby bed for our son to sleep in. And he showed us his emergency stash of pasta and sauce in case our baby kept us from eating out. He thought of everything to make this apartment feel like home.
His apartment and hospitality made our stay in Venice amazing. We'll definitely recommend to friends traveling to Venice and if we ever make it back to this enchanting little city, we'll stay there again! |

| A delightful pied à terre in a quiet neighborhood. 3 of us (married couple with a 13-year-old son) stayed 3 nights, and would happily have stayed longer. Being just a little away from dead center of the tourist mobs was a big plus. We will be back, and will stay there again, just as soon as somebody buys us plane tickets :-) ! |

| We stayed in Enrico's apartment for 5 nights in May 2009, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Enrico was very hospitable and gave us a complete packet with information about the apartment and local shopping, restaurants, etc. The apartment was nicely located and very well equipped and maintained. If we return to Venice, we would definitely stay there again. |

My husband, daughter and I stayed in Enrico's lovely apartment April 9-12,2009. Like all the other guests before us, we cannot say enough wonderful things about the location, cleanliness and overall value. Enrico even arranged for his sweet cousin, Paola, to meet/greet us, take us shopping in the local market, then give a private Italian cooking lesson! Fantastic! We are happy to personally correspond with anyone who is interested in staying here. Our experience was very, very positive. Thanks my Guardian Angel in Venice!! |

| Our family of three spent four days here in March 2009. The accommodations were charming, everything we could need was provided, the apartment was spotlessly clean and Enrico and Giovanna were most helpful in all respects. Probably the best thing was getting to be "real Venetians" for four days instead of being in some anonymous hotel. I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone looking for an apartment to stay in Venice. |

As stated in all the above entries - Enrico and his flat were perfect for a Venice vacation - and at a great price!! A hotel would never give you the personal time, extra information and as much assistance as Enrico did! We even called him when we got lost and he helped us find our way back like a gentleman. GREAT locatio, GREAT price, GREAT experience. Thanks! :)
Now, if only we could ever find our way back to that pizza place he took us too on the first night - we tried, oh my dear how we tried!! If he offers to show you where it is - go! Its great also! |

We had a delightful 2 week stay at Enrico's apartment over Christmas and New Year. The property was clean and well suited for self catering holiday makers here to experience life in Venice. The apartment has all that you ever need- well equipped kitchen, washing machine. The high speed internet connection and telephone (which receives incoming calls) proved very useful for keeping in touch with family whilst away from home. The apartment also has a very funky shower which is an experience in itself!! The location was superb as it was just a stone's throw from The Rialto. It's a great place to stay in Venice. We enjoyed the stay very much.

| Enrico met us at the Vaporetto stop and was very flexible with our arrival time as we spent the day in Verona. Enrico and Stephania (daughter) spent a good 30-45 minutes giving us the details of the apartment as well as providing lots of printed materials for us and in paticular info based upon our prior correspondance. We exchanged gifts(choocate coated almonds) for some of his wife's homemade Basalmic Vinegar. Even though it rained almost every day as well as some flooding, we had a GREAT time. Enrico called to let us know that there were umbrellas and rubber boots for us to borrow (we were just like the locals in our outfits). Murano was a great day adventure. Days are shorter in the winter. The Antica Campagane Rest was one our our highlights. Crowds were definitely down during this time. Used the local bakeries for breads, panninis, desserts, as well as local corner grocer for supplies and hot chocolate/tea/coffee. My wife and I can clearly say that Enrico's hospitality and kindness helped make our visit to Venice a trip to remember despite the weather challenges. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE..... |

| We arrived for our week's stay in Venice on the day of a strike of the "vaperatto"- water buses, and Enrico met us at Piazzella Roma and helped us with our luggage on the walk to the flat. He and his charming wife made us feel quite welcome and the flat lived up to our expctations. Having a "home" in Venice was a wonderful experience and one that we hope to have again in the future (but without the strike!). A week in Venice was not nearly enough. |

Beautifully appointed apartment. One of the best apartments we stayed at in our two month journey across Europe. The owner definitely demonstrated pride of ownership.
Happy to recommend to others, and happy to rent again.
Tip for travellers to Venice: Watch out for the Water Bus (vaporetto) fare. It is hugely expensive for a single ride, and there are no discounts for children older than 4 years - 4 and under travel free. If you intend to stay for 3 days, get the 3-day pass - it works out to be more economical that way.
Also, carry an insect repellent - lots of mosquitos in Venice.

| My son & I stayed at this apartment during our visit to Venice. It was located very close to the Vaporetto and easy walking distance to many of the Venice sights. Enrico has a great book in the apartment that gives information & maps of the different Venice sights & restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked and we even cooked a couple dinners in the apartment. A great market is a close 5 minutes walk. I would highly recommend this apartment and can't wait to come back with my husband someday. |

| Our holiday in Venice was made perfect by this lovely apartment and the warm welcome we received from Enrico and his wife. They met us from the Vaporetto, even though it was late at night, and provided us with loads of useful information. The location of the apartment is ideal and it makes an excellent base from which to visit all the most famous sites in Venice, as well as many less well-known but equally beautiful ones. Two minutes away is a lovely restuarant - Ae Oche - which served amazing food very cheaply but for dedicated "self-caterers" the apartment is well equiped and we made use of it on a few occasions. The huge circular shower was most welcome after a busy days sight-seeing in hot, hot sunshine. We just can't wait to go back! |

| Enrico's apartment in San Polo is yet another reason why it pays to book through vrbo. We were able to stay only 3 nights in late April but will return one day. The place is well-designed and equipped, with many special touches, such as a helpful library and Enrico's restaurant recommendations, with maps. The location allows ready access to most of the "must see" Venice sites, whether by vaporetto, on foot, or both. You could spend more, but we doubt you could improve on this apartment, whatever your length of visit. |

| Enrico's apartment was the best apartment we stayed at during our recent trip to Italy. He met us at the vaparetto stop and walked with us to the apartment where we were met by his very nice wife. They had both prepared the apartment so that it was comfortable and truly felt like a home. And, it was in a good location. After sight-seeing in the early part of the day it was nice to come back and rest at the apartment for a few hours before heading out again in the evenings. Enrico and his wife were attentive to all of our needs. I would definitely stay at this apartment again if I have the opportunity to return to Venice. |

For our first visit to Venice we decided to stay a little more than a week and were very fortunate to find Enrico Gagliano's cozy apartment on Calle di Filosi available through VRBO. We find that in any city where you stay can make all the difference in the quality of your vacation and we found this apartment provided an ideal location for our stay in Venice. Enrico and his wife met us at the San Stae vaporetto stop and escorted us to the apartment; they took their time to introduce us to the apartment and to Venice. They made us feel very welcome and gave us detailed information about shops, grocery stores, etc. that one could never find in a guide book. Enrico has put this information in writing in a booklet in the apartment which proved invaluable to us during our stay. There is a wealth of additional written material in the apartment which we also found very helpful. The apartment is well equipped and ideally located. We had a very comfortable stay and will definitely want to stay here again if we are ever fortunate enough to return to Venice. |

| Enrico and is wife are wonderful hosts. He waited for us at the Vaporetto and greeted us with a warm welcome even though we were over 1 hour late. We were taken to the flat, showed around and given lots of information about Venice such as where to eat and buy food during our stay. The flat is lovely, warm (we went in March), fully equipped with anything anyone could ever require: storage, towels, hairdryer, washing machine, fridge, cooking facilities, a great mosaic shower, high speed internet connection, TV and, last but not least, a very comfortable bed. It is located in a very quiet street, yet close to all the most fantastic places in Venice. We had an amazing stay and the flat had a lot to do with it. We felt at home and relaxed. We’ll definitely book it again during our next stay in Venice. |

| What a great experience!!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Enrico, the apartment, and Venice. My mother and my daughter traveled with me and the apartment was perfect. Enrico met us at the water bus station and helped us get to the apartment. He and his wife gave us maps and plenty of information so we would feel at home. I could go on and on but would be repeating many others. The one thing I want to say is we had a small issue with hot water. It was simply a button that needed to be moved. Enrico and his daughter talked us through it and were absolutely WONDERFUL. I think the true test of an owner and an experience is how things are handled when they don't go according to "plan". They handled it beautifully, checked on us even after it was fine (we had hot water in a matter of minutes). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone and everyone! We wouldn't have seen half as much as we did if it weren't for staying here. The walking in the "side" streets was fabulous! My family is ready to go back! |

Loved our stay at Enrico's. we are 2 70+ visitors and the following information may be useful to other older tourists. San Stae vaporetto stop is on the number 1 route which is the most useful for tourists BUT it is also on the night bus route so if you are enjoying yourself in Venice you need never worry about getting home easily. The area has lots of food shops, but the nearest one (2 minutes for me) provided everything ttat we needed, and was excellent. Previously in Venice we have stayed in hotels and lodging houses, but after this visit we feel an apartment is ideal - just shopping improves our Italian - and as for Italian television!! The apartment was just fine, everything worked, it was spacious, comfortable with intriguing original art work on the walls. Enrico and his wife met us and carried our bags , explained the routines and left us with contact numbers in case of difficulties. I would not hesitate to recommend his apartment and the location. |

My friend and I (we are two middle-aged women)booked through vrbo. As soon as I was put into contact with Enrico, his warm and friendly emails made me comfortable at booking the apartment. We met Enrico and his lovely and hospitable wife, who showed us everything, and gave us many tips on where to find food and restaurants and sites. The apartment is near Campo San Polo, which is nice to go to in the evening, where children, pet dogs and Venetians hang out. There are good restaurants there; we had a good meal at Birraria. The apartment is on a narrow alley leading to a narrow canal, which made it charmingly atmospheric, but also dark. The apartment was clean and quite spacious. The bedroom has a king sized bed and lots of storage space, and the pull-out couch easy to use. The kitchen and bathroom are well equiped, and the pantry filled with staples. The apartment is close to everything; we walked everywhere; and it is close to a vaporetto stop for grand canal touring. It is a short walk to the Rialto fish and green markets, fabulous. |

We booked online through VRBO, and were given detailed and easy instructions by Enrico, the owner of the property. On arrival we were met at the San Stae vaporetto stop by Enrico and his daughter. They were very kind and helped us with our luggage all the way to the apartment which is a short walk away. The apartment itself is clean and well equipped nestled in a small alley of the San Polo district. It was perfect for us traveling with 2 small children and a baby. The bedroom bed was comfortable, and the pull out sofa for the kids in the outside room was easy to use. The kitchenette was well-equipped and the bathroom was clean with a nice large shower. Enrico left us with suggestions for restaurants nearabouts. We found the area very nice. A place for local Venetians, and away from the mad hustle and bustle of San Marco. It was a treat to walk back to 'our' area every night and hunt out a local resto. The kids had a good time getting a nice walk every day.
Thank you Enrico, for all your help and we hope to see you again in Venice!! |
