What an absolutely marvelous experience!!!! While searching the internet for a dog friendly hotel, we stumbled across the Lilac Ridge Cabin. Unlike the cold, impersonal hotels listed on these sites, this one stood out as something quite unique so we decided to give it a try. What a find!! Laurie & Lane treated us to such an amazing weekend. We could not have asked for better hosts. Even their dogs welcomed our big Lab like he was part of the family. We came home and instantly checked our calendars to see when we could return. We are going back to celebrate our 1yr. wedding anniversary because we can't imagine a more romantic place to do so. Thank you so much, Laurie & Lane, for offering us this beautiful home away from home. |

Dear Laurie and Lane, Thank you so much for everything. The attention to detail on your property is wonderful--the cabin was the ultimate in country-chic decor and the grounds were fabulous, especially the hand-made furniture and beautiful landscaping. You made us feel so at home and we truly enjoyed your company as well. Thank you for making this a perfect birthday weekend for my friends and I. Thanks again (I can't say it enough), Jennifer |

| We had a lovely time on our anniversary at the Stone Cottage. You have done a great job of keeping this old cottage quaint and interesting and so comfortable. Thanks for the hiking recommendations and suggestion to visit the "spoon" art gallery. Don't let the word "spoon" fool you, this is a must see shop. |

The stone lodge is a true delight! It's roomy, rustic and ideal for a rural escape. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the old stone fireplaces because our visit was in July, but the ambiance of the place is really something to experience. The eclectic art work, in donkeys, etc ... was most memorable. And the quaint & very pretty, fenced-in back yard, made a perfect setting for our dogs, who go everywhere with us. The jacuzzi below the oak was as good as it looks - and the cottage, as a whole, held every possible need. The only thing missing, IMHO, was a few more fans or a wall AC unit in the bedroom, at least. Obviously, the ideal stay in winter! Thanks for sharing this lovely cottage with us! We will be back! |

| Your cabin and our stay were exquisite. The property is comfortable, hand crafted, roomy, beautifully integrated to the surroundings and so very delightful. Endless nice touches like the fresh flowers and cold beer in the refrigerator, landscaping and patio with BBQ, 3 fireplaces, big screen TV, intimate hot tub, great bed, I could go on and on . . and I will be BACK. Thanks for the tips on local hikes and points of interest. You're great people. See you again! |

If you’re an independent soul with energy and a coiled sense of adventure, then this is the place for you. It’s the combination of history, just slightly off the beaten track, the beautiful challenging views of distant mountains and the joy of all the delightful people who you’ll meet in this rural community. The cottage has plenty of space, warmth and charm. Your hosts Laurie and Lane will respond immediately to anything you may need. Your stay will be rewarding in so many little ways and you’ll remember it for a very long time to come. ENJOY!

We arrived on a cold December night that had a hint of snow in the air and I was wondering what exactly I had committed myself to in booking the stone cottage for 3 months. Whatever second thoughts I was having were immediately dispelled when I walked into the cottage to find three blazing fires going, including one in the magnificient stone fireplace in the master bedroom - it was the warmest, most comforting welcome imaginable! And the subsequent time in the beautiful hills of Descanso were the most peaceful, restful, recuperative break I've had from work in twenty years. |

My husband and I have been staying in Lilac Ridge Cabin for a month and we love this place. The area is beautiful as is the cabin. We're really enjoying the two person hot tub which is just outside our bedroom door under a beautiful old oak tree nestled in some boulders. We are looking forward to one more month here, then unfortunately, we go back to the real world. It has been a great vacation........you will love it !

I have had the opportunity to visit Lilac Cabin on several occasions and it is everything the website claims it to be. It feels a little like an old hunting lodge from the good old days but with all the amenities you would want for a getaway..........hot tub, widescreen tv, fireplaces etc. The area is beautiful with lots of places to explore and our dog thought the hiking was a blast. Thank you Lane and Laurie for a wonderful retreat !
