Had a great time at this house. The master bedroom is great as are the front and backyard. The kitchen is fully equipped with all new appliances and has a great little sitting area. I would definitely stay here again.

great place, good location near town, very quiet and peaceful, with a fantastic stove and possibly the best shower I've ever experienced, the master suite is pretty extraordinary.

The Bunkhouse was fantastic - a great kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, and a warm log fire. Los Olivos is a wonderful town, and the heart of it is only 3 blocks away.

The Bunkhouse delighted us from the very first
moment. We were a three-generational group of
five and we all loved it. The house is charming and
perfectly equipped with a good kitchen, spectacular
master bath, and comfy sleeping. The setting is
lovely, and the kids enjoyed skateboarding on the
quiet street (cul-de-sac), and playing croquet in
the yard. The surrounding countryside is beautiful
with things of interest for all of us. Vineyards for
the grownups, ostriches , emus, and miniature
horses for the kids. The Santa Ynez Museum had
an amazing collection of stagecoaches.
Good restaurants nearby, some within easy walking
distances. We'd love to do it again.

My daughter and son-in-law along with us spent 2 nights Dec 5 and 6 and recommend this property. The pictures do not fully show the lovely front lawn and back yard. Comfortable beds and spacious common rooms with quiet street location and short and pleasant walk to town. Owner was pleasant,
prompt and accurate with suggestions on local attractions

We had a wonderful time at the Bunk House! We brought my parents and 4 month old daughter up to wine country for the first time and needed a nice, cozt, family friendly house to stay in. This far exceeded our expectations! The decor is adorable and we LOVED the master shower! Thank you for a comfortable and memorable stay. We will plan to come again soon!

My husband's family stayed at the Bunkhouse as we had our wedding in Los Olivos. They absolutely loved it. The master bed and bath (shower especially) are wonderful. It's a walk into Los Olivos and the owner is a delight. Enjoy!

We had a lovely time at the Bunkhouse. It's a short
walk into town ... so convenient ... and a nice quite
neighborhood. Cute and a nice relaxing place to have
to go "home" to.

We had a terrific stay at The Bunkhouse! It
exceeded my expectations, the pictures don't
provide the true warmth & coziness of the
property. Everything was in perfect order &
thoughtfully provided. The owner is just lovely &
very available for questions, reservations & even
directions. We are grateful for the chance to have
such a charming "home base" on our recent work
trip, staying here made it more of a vacation! We
will certainly be hitching our wagon on this porch
again - soon!

What a phantasmigorical getaway. We want to thank you for sharing the Bunkhouse with us on our recent stay in Santa Barbara wine country. It is a perfect location, as we could walk downtown and visit many local wine tastings, as well as going for a great meal.

The house is beautifully appointed and we truly enjoyed our stay. We are looking forward to our next visit!!!!!

Many thanks,
Charity and Jim Marlatt

the Bunkhouse was a wonderful base for our cycling weekend. After a tough 103 mile ride out of Solvang it was wonderful to come "home" to a cozy spot with a wonderful shower. Relaxing by the fireplace with a glass of wine... it doesn't get much better. thanks for a lovely experience.

We had a great stay at The Bunkhouse and have already recommended it to several friends. The shower in the master bathroom is wonderful!!!! It was such a treat to be able to walk into town for dinner each night. At night the stars seemed close enough to touch.

Hi Kris!

I cannot say enough good things about our time at the Bunkhouse. From the moment we stepped in, we were gushing. We loved all of your little touches in the house, the breakfast nook, the unique light fixtures and the modern faucets, the little boom box, and the care taken to include all the items we might need in the kitchen for cooking and coffee in the am. The towels and linens were soft and cushy. The shower was amazing with all those jets coating your skin. And the backyard and the deck was so lovely. I never wanted to leave but of course we had to wine taste and enjoy the countryside too. We wanted to stay for so much longer, so we could enjoy home time more.

The work out front did not disturb us at all. The night time was serene and quiet. We ate at the Los Olivos cafe our first night - YUMM! And we shopped at El Rancho our second day and grilled out and sat out back with the warmth of the grill under the stars. Inside we played board games and danced together. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to spend our time together.

We will definitely stay with you again. We are hoping to come again in late April. I will email you once we have some dates. Thanks again for providing such a lovely setting for us to enjoy our time together. This was our friends first time to California and their first vacation in a couple of years so it meant a lot for us to have a warm environment to stay in. I hope we left everything in order at the house. If you wouldnt mind, please send me an email to let me know that the deposit is on its way.

Thanks again Kris for everything. We will be back.

Happy Holidays!
Chris

My fiance and I spent a wonderful weekend in Los Olivos. The Bunkhouse was an outstanding home base for our daily trips to the wine tastings, horseback riding and the great area restaurants (Cold Creek Tavern is not to be missed!). We will be back!

A great place to stay in the wine country! Comfortable and well adorned with a big back yard, and within walking distance to everything in Los Olivos. You won't be disappointed!

A real gem! It's a perfect location for an
exploration of the entire wine country, and a really
lovely place to come back to at the end of the day.
It's walking distance to Los Olivos, which was even
more of an advantage than we imagined. The
outdoor space is big and wonderful, and we spent
every night with a glass of wine staring up at the
stars. A great house, and a real pleasure to work
with the owner. Thanks!

This is a fun and unique place to stay. It is very
spacious and comfortable. In a quiet and charming
part of Los Olivos, yet very convenient to the
commercial part of town..
I would recommend it and would rent again

The bunk house was the perfect vacation rental for our bridal shower wine tasting adventure! The pictures really don't do it justice. Incredibly spacious with room for 6 to sleep comfortably, the entire house is decorated in an Old-West theme, which is a perfect match for the area. The kitchen is huge and Kris has provided dishes, glasses, pots and pans, even olive oil and a spice rack! The master bathroom is an attraction all of it's own with 5 different water jets and stone walls in the shower, and a huge mirror that spans most of one wall (great for makeup application).

The neighborhood is very quiet and residential, which makes for a nice cup of coffee or tea on the sunny front porch. A short walk to Grand Avenue where there are many wine tasting rooms(we reccommend Andrew Murray and Daniel Gehrs). Dinner at Mattei's Tavern was great and surprisingly inexpensive. We opted to bring our own wine after a day of tasting and pay the corkage fee ($15/bottle). We topped it all off with a visit to Maverick's Saloon a few miles away. Sustainable Vine wine tour was great, focusing on organic wines and vineyard which use sustainable farming practices, however it is a little expensive at $115 per person (includes tip but not gratuity).

All in all we loved it and owe much of our memorable weekend to the perfect venue. I'm just worried that this place will become so popular we won't be able to get a reservation next summer!

Homeowner Response:
I am glad that Mary Alice and her group of girls found so many fun things to do. And the Maverick....wasn't even on my list of activities and it is a blast!

Trust me when I say this is very cool and charming. The interior has been decorated in Western Motif with cowhides and pics of Longhorns including a custom stained glass window in the shower. Not your typical decor for a rental. No need to bring wine glasses :)
