| What a fantastic get away in the Adirondecks. It was a perfect way to relax and recharge. The house is nestled away from the road surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees, which provide plenty of privacy. The layout is nice with bedrooms on opposite sides and the kitchen/great room in the middle. The house was nicely appointed and very comfortable. The best part was the gourmet kitchen. Everything we needed to cook incredible meals was there. We used the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer several times as well as the food processor. The cooking utensils, accessories and pots and pans made cooking easy and enjoyable because the were of sufficient quality to cook on. The stove and ovens were awesome! Also, we were able to explore the area by taking advantage of the hiking recommendations provided in the welcome package. We imagined how nice it would be to spend a ski holiday at the cabin during the winter. Overall, had a wonderful time and the owner was extremely helpful and provided excellent suggestions. |

| A terrific place to rent! We highly recommend the house and its location. For those of you who enjoy cooking on vacation, the kitchen is extremely well-equipped - the knives are indeed sharp and the pans are heavy! Even the fussiest gourmet cook will be very happy to cook here. There is plenty to do nearby - Silver Lake Mtn and Baker Mtn are good options for a family hike, and the nature trails at Paul Smith's are not too far. And yes, your kids will appreciate the satellite TV and the ping-pong table on those rainy days! |

We just spent a week at Black Brook and had a great time! The gourmet kitchen was amazing! We BBQ'd several nights and had a fire in the fireplace almost every night. It was so beautiful up there that we weren't ready to leave. Our kids played ping pong and spent hours hunched over the puzzle. Lots of things to do! We went to Lake Placid, Montreal, High Fall Gorge as well as hiking and fishing. We definitely would stay at Black Brook Lodge again! Nancy |

8/5/2008: Black Brook Lodge will be remembered as the setting for one of our favorite vacations. We arrived in a downpour and spent a week dodging raindrops. Didn't matter. Our days were filled with mountain hikes, fishing, reading, and skipping rocks down by the river. We canoed, picnicked, swam in local watering holes, explored the gift shops and cafes in nearby Lake Placid and Plattsburgh, cooked & baked up a storm in the lodge's fabulous kitchen. The owners of Black Brook Lodge have considered and supplied their guests with every amenity and comfort. The lodge is impeccable, clean, and furnished for comfort and relaxation. We spent hours on the outdoor decks; watching butterflies and birds, listening to the river, and staring up at the spectacular evening sky. I spent a whole afternoon copying recipes from a variety of cookbooks while my husband and kids rifled through the lodge's guidebooks that include treatises on everything from bird-watching to cloud gazing. Our week ended way too quickly, but with a promise to return.

| We spent a week at the house at the end of August. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was great and the views of the night sky were awesome! We will definitely be making another visit to this house. |

My wife and kids and I spent a relaxing Fourth of July week-end at the lodge. The house is spacious and new with great amenities-a fantastic kitchen, great bathrooms and a huge deck from which you can hear the rushing waters of the Saranac. The Ausable River, Whiteface and Lake Placid were within easy driving distance. |

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend at Black Brook Lodge. It was all we hoped it would be and more. There was plenty of snow for mid-March with great conditions for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The cabin was very comfortably furnished, extremely well-equipped, and immaculately clean. We enjoyed evenings by the fireplace, playing Scrabble and watching DVDs (great selection!). Highly recommended to families and couples.

For about the last twelve years my husband, sister, brother-in-law and I have been renting homes, cabins etc. for vacations all over the Adirondacks. Our week at Black Brook Lodge was one of the best weeks we have had. The atmosphere inside and out was lovely & tranquil. It was a pleasure to cook in your kitchen and we truly appreciated the quality of everything from the pots & pans to the sheets on the bed.I must also comment on the cleanliness of the house. Thank you for sharing your home with us! |

We stayed at Black Brook Lodge for 3 nights (Aug13,14+15). If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you. It is away from any main roads, so you won't hear a sound at night. The river in the back of the property is very scenic,it looks like a great place to fish. Regretably we were so busy the 3 days we were here we did not get a chance to fish. The lodge has a spacious 2 car garage and great porches in the front and back.Like a previous renter said, these are great places to relax with your favorite beverage in hand. The interior of the cabin is roomy, comfortable and modern.Bathrooms at both ends of the cabin were convenient and very clean. We cooked all of our evening dinners in the kitchen area. The appliances and cookware were outstanding, making for a some great dinners.I would definitely consider this place for a winter getaway (if we can get time off from work). Whiteface mountain and Lake Placid are not far away. |

I just spent an amazingly relaxing week at the lodge. the house is comfortable, well laid-out and easy-to-maintain, and the kitchen is AMAZING! after renting so many disappointing sight-unseen rentals, what a delight to find a place that is exactly what it claims to be. the river was spectacular, and incredibly private. the bed in the master br was one of the most comfortable i have ever experienced, and the lovely, breezy front porch was so tranquil.
thanks, paul, for one of the nicest weeks in memory.

An exceptional place to relax, unwind, and let the kids run free. Our 10 year old son enjoyed wandering back and forth on the enchanted trail leading to the river. He spent his time collecting insects, and exploring his imagination. I taught our 12 year old daughter how to whittle on the front porch while the scent of the herb garden filled the air. Hiking the nearby Silver Lake trail to the summit was a hilight. Staying at Black Brook Lodge was quiet and serene. There was an experience of being totally outdoors with open views while simultaneously being nestled in the Adirondack forest. Simply being on the back porch with a cup of coffee in the mornings while the sun warmed our bodies was worth the stay. The interior spaces allowed for privacy from the kids as well as communing around the fireplace in the evenings. The kitchen was fabulous! Thanks Paul for being professional and courteous. We would definately return again. Regards, Gerry and Sabrina |
