| I had the honor of staying at this home both in 2006 and 2007 for one week vacations with my whole family. The house is not only centrally located, but the views are spectacular. In addition, the home is very comfortable and inviting. We stayed in the Spring when it was cold and the heater and fireplace worked well keeping the house warm and cozy. We also visited in the Summer, and although the air conditioner is not really needed as much, it's available for your comfort. The wraparound porch overlooks Maggie Valley and is a great way to relax and spend time just talking with your family. But if you need some time away from them, it is spacious enough that everyone can enjoy a separate activity at the same time. There is plenty of room for up to a family of ten. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The mattresses are relaxing, all appliances worked well. Plenty of parking space for cars. The location is ideal in that it is close to Ghost Mountain, Cherokee, great family restaurants (especially Joey's Pancake House). It is located within reasonable driving distance from the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. There's also the Catalochee Ski Resort nearby. We will plan our next trip in the Fall as we have heard the most magnificent foilage is in the western North Carolina mountains. And we will definitely be renting here again. |
