In late June-early July 2008 we had a “once in a lifetime” family reunion at Hale Kekela -- 2 grandparents, 4 adult children, 3 spouses of adult children, and 6 grandchildren ranging from 1 to 8 years old. It is absolutely the perfect place for that kind of group. We can’t rave enough about the beach in front of the house. The gentle surf was just the ideal size for everyone, from 70 year old Grandpa to the 6 little waterbug grandchildren. The “two houses in one” concept is great for any large group, especially when the covered lanai between the 2 houses is inevitably where all the non-beach social time takes place. Meal times were a cinch because while “the boys” worked the BBQ on the lanai the ladies could be handling preparing the rest of a meal in either or both kitchen. One night we had a local gentleman and his family do an authentic luau for us, with the meal being cooked in an “imu” (a pit in the ground) and the gentleman’s daughter teaching our ladies the basics of the hula. The grandchildren were intrigued with having their dinner cooked in the ground. Contact us by email for more information. |

| Our family of 20 from Arizona stayed here the end of May. We had our daughters wedding on the beach right in front of the house. Everything was immaculate. The houses were very clean, roomy and nice. The caretaker did a great job in seeing all of our needs were met. It is a beautiful location. You couldn't ask for a nicer spot. It was like having your own private beach. The turtles came in and swam with us the last two evenings we were there. It was amazing. The houses have more than enough room to accomodate everyone. go You couldn't ask for a better place to stay, plus everyone in the area was especially nice. Can't wait to go back..... |

| Our college athletic team consisting of 15 players and 3 coaches stayed at Hale Kekela for 1 week in March 2008. It was much better than staying at a hotel (and less expensive). We ate breakfasts in and enjoyed waking up to the sound of surf every morning. The players enjoyed relaxing on the beach, playing volleyball, swimming, and playing ping pong during their free time. The facilities were everything we hoped for and more! We even had a team BBQ on the patio for 25 people one night (including all the parents). Mahalo to John the caretaker for keeping an eye on the property while we were away competing against other Universities in Oahu. Thanks also to Tania for your advice and hospitality. |

| We got married at the Hale Kekela beach house. It was absolutely beautiful. The yard is huge and right up against the beach. We had enough room to create a ceremony and reception area for 80 guests! Also, there is a beach park located less than a half-mile from the house that has a lot of parking for a big gathering. We also had a great time hanging out with our bridal party, who all stayed with us for three nights afterwards. Overall our stay was awesome and it was the wedding of my dreams. The staff is great and will help you with anything you need! |

| I recently got married at Hale Kekela with about seventy guests in attendance. The staff, facilities, weather, etc. were great! We topped if off by spending three nights at Hale Kekela with 20 members of our closest friends and family. I could not have asked for a better time. I highly recommend Hale Kekela if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and spend some quality time with friends and family in a beautiful Hawaiian setting. |

We had a large group (19 people) and stayed for a 7 nights. It was great! Both houses were full and everyone was comfortable. The kitchens in both houses are large and the common lanai was perfect for evening meals together. The beach is outstanding. Great for kids and adults alike. We commented to each other that you'll probabably never find a larger beach with so few people around. We spent many hours on the beach. Don't forget your boogie-boards! The staff was great too. Excellent management and caretaker. Friendly is an understatement. If you're looking for a place to host a large group, this is it. We were very happy. |

| I have nothing but good things to say about our recent stay (Oct 2007) at Hale Kekela. We had a family reunion that consisted of 17 adults, and there was plenty of room for everybody. Being on the beach afforded memorable sunrises, early morning body surfing, snorkeling and snuggling. Had the trade winds not been blowing, a BBQ on the beach would have been a great time too. The Lanai is a wonderful place to gather outside to eat. Blocked from the wind by windows facing the beach it easily allowed for all of us to join together for meals, stories and games. The house is equipped with a good amount of cooking utensils and other necessities. Be sure to stock up at Costco (or equal) before you come to fill up the fridges and the cupboards. Paper products are not necessary, but convenient. Baggies (large and small) are a must for leftovers. A sport court outside gives you many games to play, and all of the equipment is located in the guesthouse closets. On site laundry facilities means bringing less clothes and having more room to take home souvenirs. This was my first time to Hawaii and Hale Kekela made this trip excellent. The new management team is great at what they do, and are very accommodating – even offering their own kayaks, etc., to make our time spent there that much more enjoyable. I would recommend Hale Kekela to anybody…especially if going to the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) and staying in a not-so-crowded area is part of your vacation plans. |

| "Hale Kekela" is a great place to stay, especially if you have a lot of family and friends. The kids especially loved it because there's so much for them to do! From the court to the yard leading into the beautiful sandy beach! We celebrated my baby's 1st birthday and the house was very entertaining! There was nothing but great comments from family and friends! Rooms are clean and cozy, 2 full kitchens, washer and dryer too! More than enough bathrooms! The staff is also very welcoming and friendly! We're looking foward to staying there again! Feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions! We loved it! And I know whoever decides to stay will too! |
