Ali & I came here for peace and sweet fellowship. I have loved sitting in my PJ's and talking & sharing while the weather outside was in the teens. I loved going to the drive-in movies in the snow and wrapped in blankets and layers of clothes laughing at chick flicks. This has been so sweet, fun, and safe. I feel our friendship has taken a deeper and more meaningful turn. Thank you for sharing this special place with me.

Great family time and reconnect after my deployment. Tyler (our 3 yr old) enjoyed the walks, zip line, and especially the swing. Madelyn (our 10 month old) enjoyed cruising the floors. My wife and I enjoyed the family time again! We had a great lunch at Mercier Apple Orchard and had a great Apple Fritter. We also drove by Brasstown Bald and played in the snow. We then drove by Vogel State Park which looks like it would be great fun in warmer weather. Drove through beautiful but curvy 180/60/Morganton (bring camera and motion sickness pills!). I will definitely be back with my fly rod.. some great rivers/creeks in that area. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Thank you so much for a great family vacation.

It's my last day here, and I'm getting ready to leave. Thank you for providing such a comfortable, peaceful setting. I cam here by myself to find just the right environment to relax and to reflect, and this was perfect. I stopped at a grocery store on my way in and stocked up on good food, and have since spent my time cooking, reading, hiking, soaking in the hot tub, and journaling. I also did some yoga stretches in front of the fireplace. The only contact that I had was with Linda Rice at Blue Ridge Mountain Outfitters. She was very friendly and helpful and full of information about hiking in the area. I ended up doing the Flat Creek Loop Trail in the Aska Trails Area (Blue Ridge) and the Gahuti Trail in Fort Mountain State Park (Chatsworth). Both were well maintained and beautiful. I'm planning on stopping at Carter's Lake on my way out of town. Best wishes to your family for the New Year and thanks again for all the thoughtfulness you have taken in making your home so comfortable for guests.

We had a lovely time here at your cabin. Our little boys loved the stuffed animals, and our almost 2 year old especially appreciated that there were chairs just his size. We came to North GA last year and stayed in a motel room -- what a change! This morning, driving into town, we stopped the car and let our 4 year old strip frost off the grass. We all enjoyed visiting local apple houses, and agreed that the fresh-from-the-fryer apple cider doughnut we had today at Hillcrest Apple House is the best doughnut we have ever had (and we used to live down the street from Krispy Kreme!)

A week to relax together and enjoy a bit of the cool weather of Fall. Trying to explain to our 3 year old what a mountain is and taking our 19 month old to see the train were highlights. We all enjoyed the zip line and the waterfalls (Amicalola & Falls Branch!). The hot tub was welcom at the end of the day too! The peacock was a fun addition too.

All of the decorations with deer reminds us of this verse. Truly this was a retreat for us with much needed rest. Having had several family things (surgeries, caring for elderly parents, and being a pastor's family) we were blessed by the quietness of the mountains, the hot tub melting our muscles, and just having time alone. Thank you very much for the use of your beautiful house nestled deep in the glorious mountainside. We were fortunate to be introduced to this place from our school's auction. Arriving from Florida, it was still quite as hot here as there (90's) but it cooled down by Saturday. The scenery was breath-taking at sunset. We enjoyed the land here and in the surrounding area. Amicalola Falls is a must see - we did all the steps! We love the cool mountain water, the deer on the side of the road and the simple beauty of nature. I took a lot of pictures that will bring back fond memories of this beautiful place.

We really enjoyed staying in your cabin. It is very cozy and provided everything we needed. The location was also great for all the things we did- tubing on the Toccoa, horseback riding at Adventure Trails, and drive-in movie at the Swan. We also had lunch at the Iron Horse Grill in McCaysville and dinner at the Toccoa River Restaurant. The girls (ages 8 & 11) also had a great time on the swing.
Thanks for sharing your cabin. We would love to have one just like it. Until then, we hope to be able to enjoy yours again when we can stay longer.

We found your little cabin on VRBO and although we've never met your family, we feel like you've shared a little piece of yourselves by letting us use your cabin. It was the perfect escape from our hot, S. Georgia summer in Thomasville. We loved all of the special comforts, the sunsets off the porch, the MEGA swing, and the hammock.
The first night we were here there was a rain storm that lasted all evening and through the night. It was lovely. Our children felt at home with all of the games, stuffed animals, and wonderful books. We had a great time!

The boys enjoyed sleeping in the loft and Sarah Kate liked her room. The porch and the view were great. We saw a deer and Kenny saw some turkeys. We all went horseback riding at Blanche Manor in Copperhill, TN. They were very accomadating- Sarah Kate (5) rode on her own horse attached to the guide. We enjoyed Pat's Kountry Kitchen in McCaysville on the way back. And the burgers were GREAT at Sue's Best Burgers in Blue Ridge. A very memorable family time! What a wonderful and relaxing four days. The time flew by. The cabin was wonderful as was the weather. The leaves have not changed to their vibrant color yet but that was OK, God's wonders were still all around us. Each time I walked out to the porch and saw the cross with the barbed wire, I was reminded of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us all. The blood sacrifice that promises us salvation if only we ask- I hope we are able to come up again to enjoy the clean mountain air.

What a delight! We had choices to make on which cabin to choose for our vacation and God certainly led us to you and this beautiful one. Peace and tranquility is what we've been longing for since our home was severly damaged during hurricane Charley and peace and tranquility is what we found. It's been a challenging year but what a wonderful way to "celebrate" the anniversary of the hurricane and know God is always with us and continues to shower us with blessings. We've toured the countryside, hiked to waterfalls, enjoyed a visit with the Blue Ridge Rotary Club, and spend our last day rafting the Ocoee--what fun! Thank you for opening your Home away from home for us to enjoy! It truly is a piece of Heaven...Your love for each other and the Lord fill the house with a sweet aroma. It's been a sweet weekend as a family. The boys have enjoyed the adventures-- especially the swing!! Bruce, I think Connor sees you now in a differend light- right up there with Superman and the Ninja Turtles now that he has learned that you used bow and arrows to get the ropes over the limb for the swing. He's talked about that all weekend!
The view from the porch is breathtaking- especially the sunset!! Your intention for your cabin to be a ministry for others is easily recognized. Everything is convenient, very thought out (labels around the cabin, maps, email notes to renters, recommendations, comfortable beds, pretty linens, relaxing porch and perfect for kids!)

He got down on his knee and said he promised to always love, cherish, and take care of me. He said he promised to keep God, his children, and me as the main focus of his life. I just wanted to tell you thank you for renting us your vacation home, it was wonderful. Both my sister and I had a great time and our husband's enjoyed the relaxation and peacefulness. What a beautiful area it is there in Blue Ridge. We found plenty of things to do during the day and relaxed out on the porch in the evening after dinner. Although it is not as "touristy" as some places we have been too before, I found this much more to my liking. Everyone around the town seemed so friendly and we just loved shopping in the town of Blue Ridge. Our first day there we took the train ride and really enjoyed that.
When we left we made sure that everything was back in it's place so it would be ready for the next people. We really didn't move too much around.
I must say, you all have decorated your cabin so nicely, it was just like being at home. Thank you again for your willingness to share with complete strangers.

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Thank you so much for sharing your Mountain cabin with us. We couldn't have picked a more kid-friendly, homier, more inviting place to stay for our Blue Ridge adventure. Your tree swing was a big hit with my two boys (7 & 13). Horseback riding at Blanche Manor in Copperhill, TN was a lot of fun for all of us! We're going to ride with Adventure Trail Rides tomorrow. Shopping in downtown Blue Ridge was great fun, lots of antique stores to browse. Thanks for the comfy beds & extra amenities in your warm cabin. Wish we could stay a bit longer! We enjoyed your lovely family photos around the cabin.

God slowed down time for us these past 9 days at "A Simple Life". What a place in the the North Georgia mountains -- way back in here! We delighted in checking out your territory - the Lake, downtown Blue Ridge, rockslide at Helton Falls near Vogel Park (a triple yippee for that find :)), horseback riding at Trackrock Stables and rafting with Ocoee Rafting Inc. - the best company. We also joined the natives in trying out Sugar Creek Raceway. Oh boy, albeit our first encounter with tingling closeness to lightning storm as we waited for the track to close down, wondering whether we'd make it back up to the cabin. The trip home to the top, in the gully washer of the week, was worth the ticket price of the eve. We were very thankful for the cabin that eve and every other evening of our delightful stay. Jesus gave us rest & restoration. Prov 11:15 May you be refreshed.

This book is a wonderful devotion in itself. It makes us feel fortunate to be a part of God's blessings. We appreciate so much your gift of a quiet, private and totally "no distractions" weekend. We will remember and cherish our 17th anniversary! We stayed out all day Saturday. We ate a Lindsey's (malts were really memorable), antiqued and ended up at an auction in McCaysville! What a treat! We bought a rocker for $50...(completely upholstered), went to Piggly Wiggly for steaks and ended up in front of fireplace for the close of a very fun weekend! We love ya'll.

Thank you for these last two days of rest and relaxation in your sweet cabin. We have truly enjoyed ourselves. After we got settled in we made an Italian dinner and had a tremendous romantic evening in front of the fireplace (we moved the dinner table right in front of the fire). Then we played a competitive game of Scrabble -- I won! We enjoyed our quiet time on the back porch each morning. How can anyone look at this beautiful countryside and not see God? We spent the rest of the day in Blue Ridge and then made our way to Brasstown Valley for a fabulous dinner. Thanks again for an incredible two days and helping us make sweet memories.
