Finca Colibri was outstanding! We have just returned from a one week stay in July 2009 and are having a rough time adjusting back to reality because our visit was so wonderful. The house is fabulous. Both my husband and I commented when we arrived at Finca Colibri that the pics just could not captivate how wonderful this house is. It was perfect. The helps from Jerry and his wife were fabulous. Jerry took our boys and my husband on a nature hike further up and they all came back fascinated by all of the wildlife and how much Jerry showed them and taught them. The view is breathtaking and the sounds of the jungle are awesome. It was a tremendous vacation and we are already talking about when we can return. Thanks to Neil for all of his help and his willingness to serve us as needed!

In our recent trip to Costa Rica we were lucky enough to happen upon Neil Harding and "Finca Colibri." This is a beautiful house located on the Southwest coast of Costa Rica just on the outskirts of the small town of Dominical. Dominical is a surfers heaven, and just down the road sits kilometers of white sandy beaches to play or swim. The house is up on the side of a "hill" with a spectacular view of the Pacific ocean. It is nestled on a plateau surrounded by the forest.
My first impression when we entered the yard was that we were going to stay in a tree house. The sounds and sights of the birds, wild life and the ocean really took my breath away. The house is well appointed with everything you need for day to day living and plenty of room for our family of five with room to spare. Coming from a cold climate where all our houses are closed in and almost air tight it was a real novelty to be in such an open air concept house. I could feel my troubles ease, take a deep breath and feel like I was finally living outside just as I long to do after a long winter.
Neil Harding manages the property. He is very friendly with a wealth of information on the local area, and Costa Rica. Neil has a real passion for the land and people and has us " in love" with the life style and people of his country. He is very discrete and was there to help bridge the language barrier for us by booking with the various excursions we chose to do.
When travelling to a foreign country safety is always in the back of everyone's mind. We did not give it a second thought while staying at Finca Colibri as there is a local family who lives on the edge of the property that maintains and watches over the house and grounds. Did I mention that our kids almost lived in the pool that also overlooks the ocean....
Our dreams will be filled with Costa Rica for a very long time to come, Thank you Neil for showing us "YOUR" Costa Rica.

What a fabulous experience we had a Finca Colibri! From the time we arrived until the day we left, Neil Harding the property manager, was available for our questions and needs. The house itself was immaculate with spacious and airy rooms. The views of the beach and surroundings were breathtaking with sunsets that were spectacular. We stayed for 7 days in late January of 2009 and will definitely be back.

What a wonderfull time we had in Costa Rica. Too bad we couldn't come back sooner. When we first arrived at the house it was the end of the day and the view with the incredible ocean colors was breath taking. Our first days of relaxing at the house while enjoying the nature around us were perfect. So much space in the house that we felt quite lost (it's not the same as our flat in terms of space...). Nice breakfeast near the pool, then a small swim while enjoying the Toucans. That's great that the house have so many fruit trees around. It permits to see so many different species from the house.
Beaches are great around Finca Colibri and personnaly my favorite one was a little further down near Uvita. It's called Ventanas. It's a 20 km drive but it's worth it !
When we come back to the south pacific region we will definitelly come back and thanks to Jerry, Lorena and Neil for their assistance !
Kind regards

We arrived a little early at Neil’s home and were greeted by his lovely wife who invited us in to await his return. Once meeting Neil we followed him to Finca Colibri and were overwhelmed by the stunning scenery and natural beauty of the home and its surroundings. The website pictures do not do it justice in its location. It was our first time staying in an open plan house and a wondrous way to experience the forest and the wildlife. Traveling as a family, the large and open floor plan allowed for lots of privacy and individual quiet time. The second floor balcony wrapped around the house gave us numerous wildlife viewing opportunities, and being nature lovers we had binoculars and spent our mornings enjoying coffee watching monkeys, toucans and we identified 55 different bird species from our Field Guide to Costa Rica Wildlife. The swimming pool was fantastic relaxing amenity we enjoyed after the many outdoor activities we enjoyed during our stay, also the luxury of a washer and dryer was a welcome feature after being on the road for a week staying in hotels before we arrived. The young Tico family who manage the property were a delight, the house was promptly cleaned everyday, dishes washed and fresh linens restocked all according to our schedule and never once was it intrusive. We are still in awe of our trip to Costa Rica and our stay and accommodations at Finca Colibri and our experiences in Dominical. We usually like to travel to a different location each year but find ourselves already planning a return to Dominical to Finca Colibri

We had a great time when we stayed at Finca Colibri ! The place was exactly what it looked like in the pictures and more. The rooms are very big and the whole house has an amazing view. The upstairs area was great to hang out after we got back from the beach.
We saw toucans around almost every day and we heard monkeys a couple of times.
We had a great time there! Neil was really nice. And Lorena does a great job cleaning and organizing the house every day.
We were very happy with the price and we would go back to the same house if we were going to Dominical.
Thanks !!!
