I could go on and on about our lovely stay at Aunt Zoe's. Aunt Zoe's became literally our home away from home for 11 days this past Spring while we were mixing my album and it was heavenly. Chris and I agree it's the best sleep we have ever gotten in L.A. and we lived there for 4 years!! From the moment we inquired, through the reservation process, upon our arrival, and throughout our entire stay, the experience was beyond 5 stars. Cynthia and Karel have designed these cottages to be homes that they would want to live in and believe me, you will not want to ever stay in a hotel in L.A. again! You get all of the amenities of a modern hotel from the custom Sony surround entertainment system with large Sony flat screen, ipod docking station & high speed wi-fi but with the comforts of a lovely little beach home. From the painted cherry details on the wooden kitchen floor to the compact design, we had EVERYTHING we needed (a new washer/dryer, dishwasher, wine glasses, dishes, stove, oven, clawfoot tub, great water pressure and temperature,etc.) and more. We had our own new secluded hot tub on our private deck, organic cotton robes and slippers, a kitchen with built in booth (that we had coffee in every morning while working on songs). We arrived late at night and on the bar was a welcome basket with fresh organic fruit, organic wine, organic coffee, a welcome note, and a fridge which came stocked with organic milk. If you want a sterile, high rise, this shabby chic, private, eco-friendly retreat is probably not the best choice for you. A major plus also was that our sweet little maltese was welcomed with open arms!! We arrived to puppy treats greeting her and plenty of walking areas outside. The best part is that you would never know another dog has stayed there because it is pristinely clean and smells so great! Another bonus is that while living "luxuriously", we learned how to live more green. I cannot wait until I can get solar paneling and replace my water heater! We have made many small changes in our own lives and home thanks to our stay. It truly was an EXPERIENCE and I am so grateful for it!
We LOVED our stay and just couldn't have asked for more...except maybe more nights! Cynthia and Karel, thank you so much for making our trip not only a successful one, but, a beautiful and comfortable one, as well! We will be back soon and only hope you won't be too booked! Love to you both and the pups!
