We enjoyed our week at Esqueredo very much. After our time in Fornalutx, we certainly understand why people just never forget the magic of that village and your house! It was great - and the new parking lot with connecting path off the top terrace cuts a few steps off the access, a welcome development when one is toting luggage or groceries!

I'm feeling rested and refreshed due to the great holiday we had in Mallorca. Everything went smoothly, we got to places like Porto Cristo, Lluc for Sunday mass, Inca, Port Soller. Esqueredo was a fantastic accommodation and was larger than we expected. We enjoyed relaxing on the top terrace and the wonderful view and surprising quiet. We also enjoyed the lizards that scurried around the kitchen (How did you ever house break them?) I hope you realize how blessed you are to own a home that others are so happy to have rented if only for a week. Thanks again, it was a wonderful and memorable holiday. We will certainly recommend it to friends and business acquaintances.

| We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in your great house in the wonderful village of Fornalutx. What contributed to our enjojment was your hospitality as shown by the wine, water and local olive oil we found upon arrival. Meeting Neil at Cafe Med and his wife Petra at her Pasta and Pizza restaurant made us feel like local as we enjoyed thier dining and sharing company. We also had enjoyable dining at Santa Marta with a very nice young Inn Keeper and his wife. The food was great and the view of the lower valley was outstanding. Weagree with you that Es Turo was special. The housekeeper Pedro's "meet and greet" service was great. All in all we had a wonderful time. |

We had a wonderful time at Esqueredo! Your directions and instructions were impeccable. The descriptions and pictures do not do the house justice. It was a wonderful family time for us.

| We are late in providing our feedback on our holiday in early October. What we experienced was a wonderful house set in a wonderful village. The whole experience from booking to flying home was great and as long as you can cope with steps the quality of the house, the charm of the village, and the setting of the mountains make this a great place to have holiday in. |

| Esqueredo was just as lovely as we remembered, in fact better! The weather was very kind to us and we didn't have to eat indoors once! The beds were so comfy we weren't even looking forward to getting back to our own, which is unusual! The "view from the loo" in the ensuite must be unbeatable! The village is unforgettable, and can't wait to back again, and again, and again.... |

A unique, multi-levelled property of enormous ingenuity and charm, the Esqueredo is itself a memorable experience. Some rental properties can be disappointing, clearly run and outfitted as a business with only the minimal amenities provided, but not so with the 'Esqueredo.' Here is a property that is more than the sum of its photographs; the 'Esqueredo' is truly a home in which one feels immediately welcome. Wonderful views out every window, well-positioned just up from the delightful village square, clean, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, the house as well as the little town of Fornatulx, cannot fail to please. - Bruce B, UK (August 2008) |

| We very much enjoyed our stay in Esquedero. The house has an enormous amount of character and charm. The views from the upstairs terrace were spectacular and our favourite place to sit enjoying the early morning sun. The village sq was good fun and we all enjoyed people watching while eating delicious ice cream! Soller's beach was a short and easy drive away. We loved the towns of Soller and Deia which are also close by...but most of all we loved Fornalutx. A true gem! It was extremely hot at the end of July into August. The house was hot even with fans going.Next time I would come a little earlier or late summer but the house is so well equipped that winter would be fun also and it would be good to do some heavy duty exploring in cooler weather.Gracias por todo. |

| Christopher, we're in and had our first 2 nights. Quite simply we're blown away by how beautiful your place is. Clearly you have spent considerable time, effort and money making this a special place. We love it. It is almost certainly the nicest holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in, and the free internet connection has meant we have already emailed pictures home to family & friends – a great added extra! Here’s to a week of great walking in spectacular surroundings with a fantastically well equipped house to come home to at the end of the day. Thank you. |

Spring 2009 will mark our fourth stay in Esqueredo and we highly recommend the location, amenities and hosts. The village of Fornalutx is close to the market town of Soller and to the Port de Soller, where the beach and restaurants are many and varied. However, the village, although it is a destination for bus tours during the day, settles into its true character, a small community centered around the square, by late afternoon. Familiar faces( especially of the local children, who ride bikes and scooters around the small gathering place as their parents relax with an espresso or something stronger) and lively conversation mark the square as a focal point for the local people. However, as temporary residents, we always feel welcome to enjoy the atmosphere. In fact, we felt truly accepted when the owner of the bar knew what our favourite coffees would be before we ordered!
As hikers and tennis players who love to read in our spare time, we have discovered our place of escape from the extended winters of the Canadian Maritimes. The trails are magnificent and varied, with the possiiblity of all day hikes, or much shorter walks, with the house as the starting point. If you need transportation, Rosa, the Fornalutx taxi driver will deliver you or pick you up for a reasonable price and her skill on the mountain roads is terrific.
The local tennis courts, graced on at least one occasion by "Rafa" and Moya, are red clay and reasonably priced. Booking during the day is simple and the staff is friendly and accommodatiing.
The library of books and VHS selections in the house keep us occupied and the kitchen is a dream, complete with a shelf of cookbooks for your reading pleasure. The owners have provided a house "Bible" which anticipates all possible questions and the guest book is a "must read" for ideas about trails, restaurants and tourist sites.
We hope you will enjoy Esqueredo as much as we do, as long as you don't try to book it during our eight week stay! |

My husband and I had a wonderful time ringing in 2008 at beautiful Esqueredo. The owners have clearly put a great deal of thought into making this a lovely and comfortable home-away-from home--fully stocked with books, movies, gourmet cooking equipment, guide books and other tourist information, etc. The town of Fornalutx is perfect--small, charming, and incredibly picturesque, but with every necessary convenience (grocery, bakery, pharmacy, cafes, a couple of wonderful Mallorcan restaurants, etc.). For us, this was the perfect base for bicycle rides in the mountains and to the coast. There are hiking trails everywhere as well. We can't wait to return! |

| Thank you, thank you, thank you. Jill, Alexander and I all had an absolutely wonderful time in your magical village. The houses were utterly charming and the village just amazing. The bakery gave Paris a run for the money and the local fruits/veg and meat made me, the cook and chief food consumer, completely and deliriously happy. For the first time in my life the melons were always ripe, the tomatoes always sweet and the courgettes had character. Then there was the chicken stew with stock made from a real chicken head. Beat the old bouillon cube all to pieces, that's for sure. The two local eateries up the hill were superb and right up our alley as we all like straightforward and fresh country cooking. We were all amazed by the warm and buoyant waters of the Med and the beauty of cove beaches but we also loved going to the local pool having it almost all to ourselves. We found your suggestions and information really helpful and only wished we had time to try so much more. Penny was delightful too and joined in the great fun of Saturday night in the village square rocking out till all hours with all of us and everyone else. |

We spent a lovely week with our two children staying at Esqueredo in Fornalutx. This was such a beautiful home, I emailed Christopher to thank him for sharing it with us. It is by far the best property we have rented in our 4 years using VRBO. It was very welcoming as a home away from home. And, of course, the valley is spectacular. It was truly a vacation that generated memories to last a lifetime!

| Have just had a magical week in esqueredo, this house far exceeded our expectations. We were amazed by it's size and space, the house had such an enchanting feel to it and contained all the home comforts you could possibly need. The views over the village and the mountains were captivating and fornalutx itself is a peaceful dreamy sort of place that we found impossible to get bored of. Have to mention Liz Bain the house manager who is quite a character, she was friendly, welcoming and very informative. If your after a relaxing holiday in a stunning location then esqueredo will give you just that, I hope we can return one day. |

What a lovely treat to stay in Esqueredo. We really appreciated the space, and felt very at home there. It is such a delightful house, complete with all creature comforts - shame we could only scratch the surface of the video collection! The weather was good for November - but we weren't tempted to swim!! We'll surely be back there - still lots to see and do.

A very warm thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful house in Fornalutx. Before we went, we had visions of traversing the entire island of Mallorca, but we much preferred to stay in your charming little village. We ventured forth only to the leather market in Inca, a day trip by car to Deia and Valdemossa, a boat trip to Sa Calobra, and several trips to the beach in Port de Soller (one via the tram from Soller). Liz Bain provided a marvelous recipe for sangria, which we made EVERY evening and sipped on the terrace before late dinners down in the square or right at home with groceries from the market on the square. We loved the views, the peace and quiet, and the charm of Fornalutx. Thank you again for a glorious vacation. Kay(and Anne,Nancy, and Alison) |

Just returned from Majorca today and had a fantastic holiday. Thanks very much for the use of your beautiful home "Esqueredo" in Fornalutx. We really enjoyed our time there, thought the village was lovely and had a good time kayaking and swimming down at the Port de Soller. Both David and I thought it would be lovely to visit the area in autumn or spring in the cooler months to take advantage of the extensive walking in the area. Liz was wonderful. The house was spotless when we arrived and she was very helpful telling us about the local restaurants, places to visit etc. Thanks very much for the gift of olive oil and wine, it was much appreciated.

Esqueredo and Fornalutx was so very tranquil, nourishing and relaxing.
Chris' photo's of this finca do not do it justice! But then a photograph could not show the lovely ambience and traditional energy of this house.
We enjoyed bright breakfasts on both of the two scenic terraces; warm bread, Soller Fig Jam, and baskets of fresh mallorcan oranges, from our daily breakfast trip down flower strewn steps to a well stocked supermarket, and icy San Miguel in the beautiful warm flagstones of the square after a day's hiking in the craggy mountains.
And what made all of this so blissful was Chris and Bunny's home- so very traditional- a beautiful kitchen with any cookery book you could want: we made a large Mallorcan feast with no trouble and served it with a flourish to our newlywed friends (who were green with envy since Esqueredo was so much nicer than their honeymoon villa!). A bathroom for him and for her- walk in shower for 2, huge bath, and upstairs brushing our teeth overlooking orange and lemongroves, with the sun blushing the mountains pink in the evening light.
If Fornalutx is said to be the most beautiful village in Mallorca, then I can put my hand on my heart (and I'm not one to gush) that Esqueredo has to be one of the best places you could ever want to stay.
WE WILL BE BACK!

It seems an age since we were in Majorca - work has been manic since we returned!.
Just a line to thank you, Chris/Bunny, for the use of both of your lovely houses. La Casa Dos was really comfortable and had everything two people could require - very enjoyable. Esqueredo was truly special and rounded off a superb week for both of us.
Thanks again to Liz for all your assistance during our stay and apologies for not commenting in your visitors' book!. The only downside comment we have (and it is purely down to taste) is that there were only 2 restaurants open in the village and whilst they were OK for a coffee/light lunch they were not quite what we look for on holiday (certainly not in the same class as the village of Fornalutx and your houses deserve). In that respect we found a little place (the only place - forgotten the name) down near the beach at Cala Deia which although rather expensive, was excellent. Also had our eye on Lua & Pirate in Port Soller but neither open when we wanted to eat (would be useful to have something in your info book regarding opening times for all of the good restaurants in the area)
Restaurants in Deia also looked really inviting but we did not want to drive that far (or at all) in the evenings (drinking) and the good ones were closed at lunch time (probably due to season?).
If you've concluded from this that the most important part of a good holiday to us is good food & wine you'd not be far wrong!
In overall terms, we don't return to many places twice but we are really tempted by Esqueredo.
Thanks again

Hi Christopher. Sad to say, we're back from visitng Mallorca. We had such a wonderful time that we certainly did not wish to leave. Your house is so pleasant, warm, quaint, beautiful, restful, comfortable, etc. and in the best town of all of those we visited on the island. We enjoyed everything about it! Just thought I'd send a quick note to let you know what a wonderful time we had in Fornalutx. Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to stay at your lovely house [Esqueredo]. We found Fornalutx to be the most beautiful little village on the island (and we saw a lot of villages!). We also arrived in time for the Fiesta. The bull run was and certainly an unexpected and interesting early morning event. The "bible" was also a very useful information book to help us find all the gorgeous beaches and wonderful restaurants Mallorca has to offer.
