| We really enjoyed our recent stay at Beam Cabin! It was great to be back again. We have rented self-catering places in Europe, Hawaii and the South Pacific and this is by far the most well equipped place we have ever stayed. The main thing we like about Beam Cabin is that it does not feel like a vacation rental. It is so well stocked and cozy, you feel as if you are at home, and a heavenly one at that. Owners Sheryl and Andy take great pains to make you feel welcome and well taken care of in every way. Thanks for sharing your bit of paradise. We can't wait to come back again! |

10 year old Ashlynn writes -We had a wonderful time! We made fires and roasted marshmellows! We also played lots of monopoly! It was really hot so we swam a lot! The cabin was great as usual! One day it was 97 degrees in the shade! This cabin is comfortble and also very cozy! We wish we didn't have to leave! We had a great time and we will be back for our 4th visit next year.
PS. Great and fun cabin!

The pictures do not do justice to this very special place. The location is breath-taking and extremely relaxing. Sheryl’s attention to providing every comfort gives the cabin that real sense of a home away from home that you just slip into. For us accommodation makes or breaks a holiday. Having holidayed extensively in Europe in rented houses and villas over the last 20 years, Beam Cabin is the most unique and relaxing place that we’ve ever stayed in. We just wish it was our! Sheryl and Andy are very lucky to own such a uniquely wonderful piece of America. |

| How peaceful and relaxing to sit on the cabin's porch, or at the end of the dock, with coffee in hand and listen to the lapping waves of the crystal clear Lake Crescent. Beam Cabin is lovely and provides all the comforts of home. My family and I had a very enjoyable stay and hope to return for a longer stay. |

Thankyou so much for sharing your wonderful cabin. It is a beautiful spot and convenient to the sights we wanted to see in the area. The weather could have been better, but the boys did get to take the rowboat out. I really don't believe there is even one fish in this lake! We found everything we needed in the cabin, especially coffee - which we forgot to bring. We all enjoyed the "Policitally Correct Bedtime Stories" and some scrabble marathons. We would enjoy coming again sometime.

Your cabin is awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We fed the ducks, read, ate and drank wine. We were definitely couch potatoes. The weather was beautiful except for a few rain showers on Wed. morning. The rainbow, lake reflections, the tide changes, and beautiful sunsets will forever be in our memories. We will be back!

Words simply can't describe our fondness of this lettle cabin and incredible surroundings. Wehave been truly blessed to have experienced it! Five years ago, I suffered through chemo and radiation for breast cancer. As I sit near an upstairs window looking out, I am even more grateful for my life. I'm sure God had much more for me to see and do! Thank you so much for this precious cabin. I've seen God through this place. Our boys are already planning our next trip here and we agree! Thanks again

It has been such a beautiful experience to be here the last couple of days! We awoke Saturday morning to a duck on the shore and fed him some of our pancakes. We took the boat out after breakfast and then jumped in and took a swim (Oh my gosh it was freezing!) Ever so romantic. It has been one month today since Eric and I exchanged vows and what an incredible way to celebrate our one month anniversary. It is so peaceful and tranquil out here. Thank you so very much for allowing us to stay in such a beautiful place.

Wow, what an awesome cabin! It is so peaceful and so quiet . . . I just love it! Kimmie got this for my 47th birthday just as a quick getaway from our normally hectic lives. As a life-long Washington resident (albeit a "city boy") this is the first time I've been here and it certainly won't be the last. Kimmie is on the last book of the Twilight series, and she is telling me all about the werewolves and vampires just down the road in Forks! I think I'll just hang here at Lake Crescent and let Edward and Bella take care of the vampires.
We brought our 8 month old Havanese puppy with us. She loves it here and likes to bark at the ducks and the water. Thankfully, no cougar sightings. She would make a perfect scooby snack.
We've done a lot of reading and plain old relaxing. Its been raining off and on but we don't care!!! It's just nice to spend time together since we work opposite shifts. Kimmie works days as a corporate IT recruiter and I work nights for the police department.
We will definitely come back again! Thank you for the incredible historical photos. We love those.
P.S. How in the world did you get everything down here?

We had a great time at The Beam Cabin and surrounding area. As stated in so many notes from prior guests, it is beautiful, enchanting, wonderful, interesting and the list goes on. We didn't let the rain slow us down too much. We hiked several trails and took day trips to the Hoh Rainforest, made a quick stop at Rialto Beach - lovely and stunning even in the rain. Had to stop in Forks for our Twilight fans back in Texas. We even visited the Marine Life Center in P.A. The staff were great and very informative.
We thoroughly enjoyed our cabin time too. It is a charming place and the TLC you all have put in to it is much appreciated. Steve is already plotting a return visit. He hits the bit 60 in October.
Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise.

Had a fantastic time paddling about the lake, enjoyed the dusk hours, the glassy surface and the amazingly symetrical ripples - we finally had to jump in ourselves - bracing to say the least! Loved it here - a great spot, truly. Was such a world of difference from New York, so beautiful! Soaked in Olympic Hot Springs and saw a deer . . . Loved every minute here at Lake Crescent, short trip but felt like a relaxing vacation.

34 years ago this summer, I worked across the lake at Lake Crescent Lodge; at age 18, this place was cemented firmly in my heart - have brought my husband and children here on occassion and in January 2008 our daughter and her partner (see page 6 of this guest book) discovered this special haven called the Beam cabin. We treated ourselves to this warm and incomparable place this weekend. We instantly knew here was "the cabin" we'd always dreamed of, but never quite found in our travels . . . and to find it on the shores of dear Lake Crescent was an unexpected treat. We spent much of our time looking across the lake to Rosemary Inn where our first born will be married this June. We look forward to coming back again and again! Thank you both for letting us have quiet time here and for maintaining the historical integrity of The Beam Cabin!

Andy, Sheryl & Future Guests: We cannot over-express how enjoyable our stay here has been. Not only in the perfect setting, the ideal balance of comfort with rustic charm, the thoughtful and generous provisions, the incredibly appropriate level of upgrades without spoiling - only enhancing the history, but most of all the personal touch and hospitality, including detailed tips for making the best use of everything, for gaining the best experience for our limited time, and providing details for the rich history of this property and surrounding geology. You went the extra mile to accomodate us on short notice. All this and more will be forever etched in our greatest memories and we hope for future visits.

We have owned The Beam Cabin since June 2007, but we became Beam Cabin guests for the night, celebrating our 20th anniversary! The weather was perfect - bright and sunny, then clear and crisp, with snow capping Mount Storm King. What a perfect place to be, reflecting on our 20 years of marriage, totally enjoying the fruits of our labor restoring and maintaining The Beam Cabin. Peace and quiet; we saw one person in our 24 hours here - the ranger making a pass in the Park boat. Ricky the Racoon was ever present. We look forward to the next 20 years!

What a wonderful cabin - such a special opportunity to stay here! Every day we wake to the gorgous Crescent lake in all its moods. Some days it looks like glass - a mirror reflecting the deep green mountains and other days the waves crash onto the shore like the ocean.
Staying here is like stepping into a postcard and going back in time to a more simple pace - separated from the world and all the noise.
We traveled over half the peninsula - all the way to the Hoh Rainforest and we still believe this is the most beautiful area of all. This awesome lake with its crystal clear water that changes to deep teal within its unimaginable depths and the forest with Marymere Falls just moments away - these were our favorite places. Plus we loved making campfires and walking the dock.
Thank you again Sheryl & Andy for taking such great care of this old cabin so that many other visitors can experience this gem. This was our first trip to Washington and it was made perfect because of our stay here. I wish we didn't love so far away - but we will return.

We recommend two fantastic hikes: The Ozette loop - 9 miles that take you down to the beach and the hike up to Deer Lake followed by a soak in the Sol Duc Hot Springs. The restaurant there serves a tasty dinner. We love staying in unique, memorable places and yours certainly filled the bill! Loved the fine quality of the sheets and quilts, as well! We are looking forward to making this a tradition. To build on the wonderful event of marriage to family retreats and retired get-a-way, thanks again for everything - the place was perfect.
We had some visitors of course, we were greated by a domestic cat and accompanied the whole weekend by a lone duck that we named Flamingo and touched all of us with a great memory. Some very ragged raccoon decided to grace us with a hello.
Watching the shadow disappear down the mountain as the sun rose next to my husband was my picture perfect departure. What a beautiful place!

Our first time here and we feel like we have found a treasure. Beautiful views, loved to see the lake in its changing light as the day progresses. No luck with fishing although had one on the line the first day, but none after that. Had an otter visit one morning, sunned himself on the dock, looked in the boat then dissappeared. Four ducks came to visit each morning. Kids loved it and did not want to leave. Made us promise we will come back, can't wait for next summer.

Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your little slice of heaven. This place fills me with peacefulness and I know you could see how much Steve loved it too. Four members of the Palm family arrived in the early evening. Sheryl had waited here in order to greet us and also hear first hand our impressions of all the work that she and Andy have completed since May of '07 when we came to say good bye to the cabin and pick up a few mementos. There are not enough superlatives to describe the wonderful job they have done in not only preserving and maintaining many of the aspects that made the cabin so special but also updating, restoring and including some quality upgrades to create a warm and cozy atmosphere to welcome their many guests. The brown paint used on various pieces of furniture is very nice and the scatter rugs also add to the warm and cozy touch. The knotty pine finishing upstairs is lovely. The new loveseat hide-a-bed is about 100% more comfortable than the old leather one, but I am glad that it is still here. The restoration of the porch rocker is unbelievably incredible. The throne is easily 200% better than before!
Mom rode out from town to have dinner with us and Marie took her home just before dark, making use of the new path lights on her return.
We also enjoyed the display of historical photos on the wall; Grandpa Romick would appreciate the wider road. There was a particular rock that he would have to ease his '60 Chevrolet by scraping it on more than one occasion. The road looks to be more all weather now!
J. Lyle would definitely approve of the raked beach, something that he worked to maintain. It is after all pretty much the nicest beach on the lake.
Daniel loved the tv room. A couple years we brought a small tv out here along with our VCR; how grand it is to have the TV/VCR combo and the DVD players available. We didn't miss lugging bedding and towels down and up the hill either.
As usual, the nicest day always seems to be the one you have to leave. We awoke this morning to flat calm with no wind. The cabin was a little on the cool side, so I built a small fire to chase away some of the morning chill.
Thanks, Andy and Sheryl, for all of your hard work and for making the cabin available to rent. It is the best of both worlds. We still get to enjoy the cabin but you have all of the responsibility!

Thank you so much for renting the Beam Cabin to us this July 4th long weekend. We had a wonderful time since we arrived at your cabin July 2. We explored Hoh Rainforest and saw 5 elk at Spruce Trail! Visited Quinault, Kalaloch, Ruby Beach with our mini dachshund, Bailey. We also spent some time walking on Rialto Beach. Had awesome views at our hike to Cape Flattery. We were fortunate to spot a bald eagle fly in front of our car on the drive back from Neah Bay. We will visit Joyce as you suggested . We spotted or rather Bailey spotted for us a small racoon climbing the tree next to the staircase. We appreciated you have the cabin comfortable for our stay and supplying a lot of amenities. Oh yeah, Hurricane Ridge was awesome and we even saw lots of deer munching on lupine flowers. The cabin was very comfortable and we will recommend your place to our friends who want some outdoor adventure. In case you or family/friends ever want a tropical vacation, we have a condo in Maui.
We still have to jump in the lake, maybe later . . . haha!

Uncle Andy & Aunt Sheryl, Thank you for one of the best weekends of our lives!!! Your warmth and hospitality was amazing, and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. This is a beautiful place, filled with everything we could have needed, and we are amazed at your attention to detail, ensuring a carefree and relaxing vacation. The kids went fishing, exploring in the racoon cave, swimming (for a few minutes anyway) and they told us ghost stories around the campfire while eating as many smores as they could stomach! Chris and I snuggled on the bench under one of your comfy blankets and watched the sunset one night, and the wind storm the next. It was beautiful and much needed! I am ready for another grueling quarter tomorrow, and thank you, thank you, thank you both. Love, Chris, Dannielle, Cole, Sam, Anyssa & Celia

Too bad we can't stay longer! Thanks for the well stocked, especially flashlights, just in case, goods. If an emergency happened, we could survive for days. We settled in easily to a tranquil, comfortable escape. As we rent our house on Cape Cod, MA., we appreciate the efforts you put into upgrading the house. Of course we do not know all ot if. . . . but believe us, we can imagine the effort. Kathy adds: Your cabin is exactly what we wanted for some "away" time. We loved staying here.

Thank you Sheryl & Andy for sharing this wonderful place with us! We've had a surprisingly beautiful sunny weekend. We didn't much want to leave but we did take a nice paddle on the lake and the dogs did a lot of swimming. What a cozy place! We had a terrific creme` brulee` dessert last night, complete with the spearamint we found just beyond the dock - what a find! We could not have asked for a better place to spend our first wedding anniversary.

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your magical Beam Cabin on our honeymoon. You are the best hosts we have every had in a rented houe. We felt like we lived here and were so comfortable and relaxed. We loved the begging ducks, your row boat that reminded me of the movie "The Notebook", rowing to the bridge across the way and having a picnic on the point, sitting on the dock, making s'mores and on and on . . Our dog Maggie thanks you too as she loved it here and couldn't stay out of the water. We will be back. Thanks again

This week was a celebration of 2 wedding anniversaries (50 years combined) and friendship resulting from courage and opportunity. An American family and a former Eastern block family traveled here together and found ourselves in an idyllic setting - an authentic lake cottage surrounded by forested mountains. An experience none of us thought or dreamed about 25 years ago when we stood on opposite sides of an ominous wall. We've been to the Ozette beaches, to Angeles Lake, and to Salt Creek then to Sol Duc Falls. The best part of each day was coming back here. We started a fire, cooked together and enjoyed the porch. The weather didn't cooperate or we would have and a fire outside too. Waking up to the heavenly view was devine! Thank you Andy and Sheryl

Exactly 5 miles from home and we felt we were in a different place & time! and what a wonderful place for my birthday celebration!! Our pals & family just loved hanging out here, everything ws perfect. We loved everything you did here, the upstairs is great. We wish you much success with the Beam Cabin! My favorite memories - husband, family & friends thoroughly enjoying the cabin; view from the bed; little periwinkle blue butterflies on the beach; swallows enjoying the beach; momma duck & babies making a crezy descent from behind the cabin to the lake; sunset on my birthday; big rocks, sandy beach; power outage, but who cared :).

The cabin and scenery were absolutely amazing. We were lucky enough to have three sunny days. We enjoyed feeding the ducks, sitting by the fire, and doing nothing at all. There even was a pack of raccoons wandering around. My arms hurt from the row boat, but it was a lot of fun. Sol Duc falls were breathtaking! Thanks again!

On behalf of the Co-op of America crew, thank you, thank you, thank you! We just had a whirl wind weekend at the best ever Seattle green festival and then to come the cabin and be able to settle our thoughts and minds makes us feel like new people! All eight of us agree that this is heaven on earth. We took full advantage of the campfire and roasting sticks. We cooked gourmet dinners and breakfast and went hiking around the falls, too beautiful. Thank you for the perfect home away from home. Many thanks, Ashley, Alix, Dana, Jessi, kathy, Samm, Yochi & Vickie. P.S. We cannot thank you enough for such a sweet introduction to the lake in your electric boat. We all agreed that was the highlight. Vickie writes - Thank you so much for your hospitality! This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Thanks again we hope to return next year.

Heaven! A perfect "getaway to re-prioritize". Kyle tested his fire skills, I was thrilled not to be able to get e-mail! We were both happy and disappointed not to have our 7 year old twins and doggie along, but have resolved to return with them in tow. Visited by four ducks and four racoons but mostly peace and respite! Thank you for sharing this wonderful cabin.

| As a vacation rental owner myself, I have to say Sheryl and Andrew have created a perfect "get-away". Every detail was attended to; the kitchen is well appointed, the beds and bedding top of the line, there was plenty of wood, blankets, reading material, etc. The cabin is charming, the setting incredible, the hosts warm and friendly. This really is a fabulous, memorable place. |

| Eventhough it's been a full week since we stayed in this cabin for a mere two days, I can't get it out of my mind as just one of the sweetest and genuinely romantic places I have ever been. The whole experience was moving.. beginning with an incredibly warm welcome from Sheryl, then finding the cabin nestled privately in the mossy woods, the unmatched view of the lake, the cabin being so comfortable, tasteful, and so thoughtfully providing all the ammenities you could imagine and much more! Wow...we had a hard time leaving and when we finally did, we left it swearing we would be back and feeling nostaglic as if it were our own piece of paradise. The owners must be incredible people to offer this treasure with such hospitality. Thank you! The tranquility there is now engraved sweetly in our memories.. We can't wait to come back! |

| Wow - what can we say that others haven't already said??!? We are so in love with the Beam Cabin!! We have been to the cabin twice now and agree wholeheartedly with all the other comments so far! For anyone needing to just get away from it all, to slow the pace of life, to relax and contemplate life and nature, or to enjoy the closeness of loved ones....this is a PERFECT location for all of these things! The owners have done such a marvelous job equipping the place, your biggest concern of the day might be whether to take in the view from the front porch, from atop the mossy rocks beside the cabin, or perhaps from the seat at the end of the dock. Sounds rough, I know! |

This is awesome! The bean cabin is located right on lake crescent, very easy access and super nice renter. The cabin itself has a full on kitchen (that include a smores kit!), a firepit on the shore as well as a dock and a small rowing boat! This makes it for an awesome week-end at an unbeatable price. We already want to go back. |

| I had taken care of my widowed, nearly blind, wheelchair bound father for 3 years and then we had to move away from each other placing an ocean between us. I missed him dearly and longed to spend time with him again. I wanted to find a home like setting so I could cook and take care of him in a relaxed environment and not be limited to living in a motel and restaurants. Once I decided this, the absolute, very first place that presented itself to me on my computer screen was Beam cabin. It was meant to be! I looked no further! I called Sheryl and explained my situation and the rest is history. She and Andy helped get my dad up and down the trail and had the cabin heated up prior to his arrival so it would be warm and toasty for him. The house immediately filled up with love and happiness as he found his place in front of the cozy, wood burning stove. Our small family was plucked out of space and time and placed in a dream. We put flowers on the counter, ate the yummy brownies they had just baked for us, watched movies, played scrabble, feed him great meals, roasted marsh mellows, laughed, sang, gave him foot messages, kissed him on his cheek every time we passed him, got lost in the abundance of nature at its finest and then our time was up. Now, when I talk to my dad on the phone, he asks me when we can go back there. Andy and Sheryl helped make my dream come true, just as angels do. |

| LOVED the Beam Cabin! What a fantastic way to get away for the holidays. It was the first time we had had a hectic free Christmas and really had time to relax and enjoy the season instead of shop it away:) The Cabin had everything we needed and we found ourselves cooking for every meal, sleeping well and building great fires in the wood stove on cold nights. The owners are fantastic and really set the place up nicely. We've already recommend the Beam Cabin to many of our friends. We'll be back!!! |

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beam Cabin! The owners are awesome and have done a great job updating this cabin and at the same time keeping an old time rustic feel to it. It is very private and right on the lake with a sandy beach for swimming.
We spent time relaxing on the front porch reading and just looking at the lake but if you want to be active, there's lots to do (fishing, hiking, etc.). Afterall, you are in Olympic National Park.
The kitchen is as well equipped as anywhere we have stayed and there is a large dining table and full size frig, microwave, coffeemaker, etc.
Our favorite things were the cozy woodstove inside and the firepit outside for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. Plus there's an endless supply of firewood.
The beds are heavenly, the bathroom is well stocked with new towels and lots of amenities. The entire house is spotlessly clean.
It is perfect for a romantic getaway for 2 or for bringing a family. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, it will be hard to beat the fun, peace and tranquility of the Beam Cabin. |
