Our family of 4 with 2 girls (5 and 7) visited Beijing in late January 2009. The apartment: It's a beautiful, contemporary, clean, and spacious apartment. We visit China often and have been in numerous apartments (we even own one in Suzhou), and this one is near-perfect. Zoned HVAC, kitchen amazingly stocked (including a 10 L dispenser of water), endless supply of towels and comfortable linens, the washer/dryer, comfortable beds, entertainment w/ international channels, were welcomed features after a day on the town - not to mention use of the 50 meter pool, racquetball court, ping-pong tables in the health club, and maid service! The location: The apartment is just outside the 3rd ring, for those familiar with Beijing. We got along just fine by taxi (waiting outside the gate) and metro (an easy 10 min walk). Count on 20-40 min to reach most things of interest. A Four-Carre supermarket, as others have mentioned, is a 20 min walk or 5 min taxi. There are a fair amount of restaurants, but we only tried the North Korean place and thought it was just so-so. The on-site Manager: We thought Isabelle was terrific. Although we spoke Mandarin, her English was very good and I would have no concern with communication issues. Isabelle was very personable and easily available for questions. At the conclusion of our stay, she helped us get a cab to the train station (beware if you have 5 people, as many cabbies will only take 4 - this was our problem), even checking their credentials to make sure we wouldn't be scammed. The Owner: As many have said, Jonathan was a pleasure to deal with, especially in working through some curve-balls thrown at me by PayPal (I ended up being comfortable with writing him a personal check). You can tell by how the apartment is furnished and maintained that he is a proud and discerning owner. We're thinking now about renting his apartment in Maine! |

Perfect apartment for our group of 6 this summer! The residence is immaculate and spacious. The owner, Jonathan, was helpful with every aspect of planning our visit which made it no stress. Isabella, the manager on site, is English speaking and wonderfully helpful. The apartment has all of the amenities anyone would need or want, even stocked with snacks and drinks. There were plenty of taxis outside the residence for trips into the city and a pair of convenience stores just outside the complex for any quick needs.
We had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Beijing in the future! |

| Beautiful, spacious, clean and calm. This was a great home base for our party of five as we made trips out into the city and to the Great Wall. Restaurants were a bit of a hike for us (okay, we're wusses: 15 minutes), but taxis are readily available, and the kitchen is generously stocked with cereal, snacks and drinks. Both Jonathan (the owner) and Isabella (the on-site manager) were extra-accommodating in terms of check-in and check-out, and generous with their time in answering our questions and helping us with logistics. The apartment had all the Western amenities and was just elegant and pleasant to be in. We had a wonderful stay. |

What an oasis from the bustling of the big city! This was the perfect location for our short visit to Beijing. 5-minute walk to subway, plenty of cabs outside the compound, and shops and Starbucks within walking distance.
Highly recommend this luxurious apartment for a short-term or long-term stay.
Plenty of maps and books at the apartment to guide us, and the concierge solved most of the issues (where to visit/shop/how to get to/from airport).
Perfect location for anyone looking to pamper themselves in a hectic city. |

As a group of MBA students extending our international residency, we found staying at this apartment in Beijing an ideal situation for relaxing at the end of a day of sightseeing. We also rented the second apartment mentioned. Both apartments are beautifully decorated as displayed in pictures and had the amenities we were looking for - especially the laundry and living room visiting areas.
We were in Beijing for only 3 days in mid-April 2008, but it was wonderful to have a gathering spot for our group that we could visit and catch our breath before and after exploring Beijing. Isabella, Jonathan's in-town apartment manager, was also very helpful and friendly. She speaks English well and can make suggestions to make your stay in Beijing more enjoyable. |

| I recently (March 2008) stayed in Jonathan's apartment, and it is as lovely and comfortable in person as it looks in the photographs! It was very clean, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the furnishings and art work are lovely and make it feel like a home, not a rental. I would definitely love to return someday, and would recommend it to my friends and family without reservation. And, his in town manager, Isabella, is friendly and helpful and speaks great English-- she even managed to arrange a van to take us to the Great Wall with less than 24 hours notice! |
