| Enthusiastically agree with all previous positive comments! We stayed a weekend while attending our niece's wedding at Winchester Country Club in Meadow Vista. It was so helpful to have 5 bathrooms while the Jr Bridesmaid and Ring Bearer and the rest of us as guests were dressing for the various events. The 25 min. drive to the wedding site was well worth it so we could all stay together for a little family reunion. The ability to spread out, each finding their own "space" and quiet rooms for the sleepyheads was very appreciated. We absolutely felt "at home" during our stay! Thank you Applers for making your home available, your helpful guidance, and your friendly communications. |

The house is fantastic; Tranquility Cove is a perfect name for the place! The lake is great, perfect for young kids, very safe to swim and boat.

| A spectacular house! Very spacious with wonderful open kitchen and decks on the top level. Beautiful sloping grass yard, small beach area (great for little kids) and nice dock for relaxing. Owner is very prompt and on top of things. Enjoyed a fabulous five days at the house last summer we are looking forward to returning next summer. |

| For the past eleven years, our family gets together for an annual vacation and this house has been the best by far! Enough room for all (9 adults and 6 children), beautiful weather and fabulous lake front location. The kids occupied the downstairs suite while the adults relaxed upstairs. This awesome house has niches for tv watching, reading or napping. That is of course when we weren't swimming, canoeing or cruising in the paddleboat. The gated community gave an added sense of security and we enjoyed all the local ammenities. See you next year as we have already made our reservations!! |

We were so happy with our stay at this beautiful property at Lake of the Pines. I too grew up on a lake and knew how relaxing and enjoyable life on a lake could be. We were not diapppointed. Everything at this house is 6 star.I gathered my children and grandchildren there for our annual reunion. From the description we thought it was too good to be true but it is true. We found the house in beautiful conditon when we arrived. It was welcoming and immaculate. We especially liked the fact that the full, unobstructed view of the lake was available from so many vantage points inside and outside the house. Having the canoe and paddle boat availabe is a big plus. We liked having access to the community pool also. All the amentities(too many to mention) are A-1. From making the arrangements to collecting our deposit at the end, this is a first class operation. Thanks for making this such an exceptional place to vacation. We will be back next year! |

I can't say enough good things about this beautiful lake house. It is so great that we've stayed there more than once. The house is large with lots of room to entertain and feed our group of 8. Roomy and comfortable bedrooms and enough bathrooms, unlike some places we've stayed.
Incredible lake views are seen from the whole back of the house, including the huge deck, the 2 family rooms, master, one bedroom, and the kitchen. And because the house is nestled in a cove with a south-facing view, both sunrises and sunsets are magnificient.
We loved the automatic fireplace. It's near the window overlooking the lake and makes a great place to sip morning coffee or evening drinks if you're there in the chilly weather. On our summer trip, coffee and drinks were always on the deck. :-)
The more energetic of our group played tennis and golf or rode bikes. The more laid back enjoyed the lake, reading, and just relaxing in the quiet that we never have at our house in the city.
The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with, too.
And, so much to see and do nearby! Check out these:
Nearby Nevada City and Grass Valley have an atmosphere of the old west mixed with wine bars, cappucinnos, and unique shopping.
Over 20 wineries within short driving distance. On a sunny Fall afternoon, we wine-tasted our way through beautiful seasonal colors to several delightful wineries where friendly and attentive proprietors gave us generous samples.
Quaint Old Town Auburn has lots of interesting shops and good restaurants. We liked Bootleggers Tavern and Grill. Our group sipped cocktails and beer at a charming, mahogany bar while waiting for a table -- great prime rib and other more eclectic dishes.
The Apple Hill orchards area in Placerville is about an hour from the house. It makes a great day trip - - over 50 orchards featuring apple ciders/pasteries, rustic eateries, petting zoos, events, and many fun distractions for the kids (including a hog as big as a barn!)
Skiing at Sugar Bowl an hour away.
As you can probably tell, my family and I *really* enjoyed our visit to this great lake house. I highly recommend it. |
