First i want to say that this condo in Las Palomos is the most beautiful, nicely decorated and comfortable i have ever stayed. the owner did a wonderful job on all the little things that add to a luxurious stay. and if you like to cook it is stocked with the best of appliances...also the service at los palamos is exceptional. my mother and i came here to meet my cousin, who was taking her son there after looking at a college in tuscon. living on the beach in fl. i had never heard of peurto penasco...( have been to cozumel)we had a wonderfull time in a very interesting place,absolutely beautiful weather and the most beautiful aqua sea water(although too cold for me 3/30-4/4)
we flew into pheonix and drove in a rental. the drive is 4hr and easy and going thru customs was a breeze...our one mistake was the timing of our drive.it got very dark after customs and was scary as there are no visable signs at night and make sure you get good directions from the owner as its also a little tricky coming in and definitely don't drive at night.
the pools and beach are wonderfull for relaxing, there is a great workout room and the beach is good for walking.
go to the malecon for some outdoor shopping and bargaining and definitely buy and cook seafood.the shrimp are huge, delicous at just $8 a lb..good fish for $3 a lb and a gallon size fresh picked white crab meat $8.
go to rodeo drive for more outdoor shopping, esp the silver, turguoise and coral...and to top it off the people are sooooo nice...best store was Mercedes in the malecon. we only ate out 2x at mexican restaurants, just got so into cooking that wonderful seafood.
