This is perfect vacation home! First of all, it is a quick 15 min or so from the airport which is so nice when you are tired and want to relax. Our family was instantly relaxed as we drove through Wailua State Park and past Opeaka'a Falls on our way to our mountain retreat. As soon as we turned into the driveway we were greeted by our wonderful host Errol. Our stay was amazing from the start. The house is cozy, inviting, and beautifully decorated with fine art, gorgeous quilts, custom drapes, cherry hardwood floors, and lovely Hawaiian furniture and accents. We thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of the back lanai where we ate family meals, read books, watched tv, and listened to nature sounds. Every morning we drank our coffee on the wrap around outdoor lanai where we just never got tired of the mountain and tropical views. The backyard is very large and our kids loved playing and exploring in their own little adventureland. We also ate as much grapefruit as we wanted from the tree right out our kitchen window. A couple of times we had a nice surprise waiting on our steps from Errol--passion fruit(what an exotic treat) and avacado. My husband felt right at home with all the electronic equipment at his disposal including flat screen tv, dvd, wireless internet, and stereo system with Ipod dock. The kitchen is well appointed and stocked with a lovely mix of china, necessities and eclectic pieces. There is a country store less than 2 min away that carries all the basics and then some. They have amazing local beef that is hormone and antibiotic free and very reasonably priced for this quality. You are also only about 10-15 min away from Kapa'a for major grocery shopping or an array of restaurants. We also found a local fisherman in the neighborhood and grilled our own Ahi tuna in the backyard. The house is in the perfect location to easily access any part of the island quickly. Our kids (ages 8 and 5) loved the beach at Lydgate Park only 10 min away. We are experienced travelers and we would not give such a high recommendation unless warranted. We truly had an awesome vacation and plan to visit Makana Mai Anela annually! Thank you Errol, Thomas and Steve for your graciousness and hospitality! Aloha!

| A great place to stay--private, peaceful, spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated and well equipped. It's larger than it looks in the photos. The location is great, in a lush, rural, but residential neighborhood within easy distance of many key beaches and sites, on a beautiful property with towering palms and fruit trees. Highly recommended. |

| We have stayed on several of the islands in the past and have enjoyed every stay. However; my wife and I feel Makana Mai Anela is the hidden jewel of all the islands!! The pride of ownership radiates through every detail. Our two children enjoyed the enormous and very private yard. The location is an ideal launching point for all of your island adventures as it is centrally located on the island. Errol was a fabulous host and went to great extent to ensure our every need was met! My family feels this this awesome property was one of the greatest parts of our Hawaiian vacation and we will be returning soon so book now before we take your week! Aloha |
