My husband, our good friends & I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this magnificent retreat in the land of Paradise. We were blessed with sunshine every day - much to our surprise! We had anticipated some rain but only saw a few drops. We enjoyed a night time trip to the lava flows - would highly recommend - it was unreal. Most relaxing trip we've had. Last week was hectic with a family wedding in Kona so that rest was bliss. Mahalo.

Friends on their first visit to Hawaii accompanied us and believe they now view Hawaii through a somewhat changed perspective or optic. Volcano was interesting, as always. A magic land! My mom, daughter, sisters, brother-in-law, niece, brother & his girlfriend have enjoyed your house too little. We had too many activities planned for the short time we were here. The one day we spent most of the day here was very nice. Some went exploring on the rocks, some sunbathed, others cooked or napped. Then we had to run off to the Merrie Monarch Festival. I loved that you had so many bathrooms. The outside pool & deck was beautiful & the view was outstanding. Unfortunately, we are here too late to see whales.

Our time here was all we had hoped as we gathered as a family from Wisconsin, California & Virginia. We enjoyed the awesome waves of the first days & then the many whale sigtings as the ocean calmed down...Preparing meals in the well equipped kitchen & shopping for local fruits, vegetables and seafood was something we particularly enjoyed. It all went by too fast. We stayed around here most of the time not wanting to leave. This was my first time to rent a house like this and all others will be judged and compared to it as the best. I will recommend Mika Kai for sure. Mahalo.

This is our third trip to the Big Island, the first two trips we spent at my brother's house - nice, but not this nice. Dan and I enjoyed visiting the Big Island a couple years ago - we definitely wanted to share the experience with our children. Staying at the MikaKai was a perfect fit with the four bedrooms & baths. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your wonderful house. Everything about it made our trip to Hawaii all the more better. Whether it was watching the sea turtles early in the morning or gazing up at the star-filled sky at night, each was an enjoyment to all of us here. This is a great house in a great location. From here we were able to reach out and visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Black sand beach, and the ever-erupting lava flow of Kilaeua. Mahalo.

Thanks for letting me stay here! It was wonderful! I saw lots of sea turtles...I swam with the sea turtles! I loved the lava tubes and the crater. I also loved the helicopter ride but I got a little qeasy...but oh well! I loved all those kinds of fishy's...I'm defintley gonna move here when grow up! P.S. You have evrey thing at this house!

The bad part is that we were only here for a short time. The good news is that we couldn't have been in a more perfect house or location. This was sheer heaven. We got to explore so many wonderful places on the island and then come back here to cook all our meals & enjoy the hot tub. We were celebrating our 25th Anniversary, our son getting out of the Marine Corp and our daughter completing another year of college. We're going to Kauai next, but I don't think it'll be nearly as nice as this house. We didn't see whales, so we'll have to come back and try again. Thank you for sharing your home. We love it!
