We loved our vacation at the Cottage at the Fort. I have stayed many places in NC and SC, and none compare with this "Paradise". This was the most comfortable, resting vacation ever. The peaceful surroundings, the cozy accomodations were beautiful. We can't wait to go again. Thank you Mr. Grant for letting us book. It was worth changing our dates..

Our stay at the "cottage" was great; everything we had hoped for and more. The locale reminded us so much of our former home in St. Augustine, FL! Sitting on the back porch with a glass of wine or two enjoying the sunset was all we really needed, but everything about the "cottage" was a class act. It was modern, yet had the character you expect of a seaside get-away. Little extra touches like TV channel guides, tons of cooking utensils/china, and high speed internet showed that you cared enough “to go the extra mile” for your renters. The fishing and crabbing off the dock were great and provided a few cheap meals! The beach was close yet the "private island" proved privacy. Thanks again….we’ll be back.

If anyone wants to get away from this stressful world right now, The Cottage is you salvation. We just spent a wonderful and tranquil week there and I promised myself that every year we will reserve The Cottage. The accommodations are excellant and the the sunsets are absolutely magnificient, which you can enjoy from your sunroom or deck. Everything is included, from a dock to fish or crab, pots and pans, gas grill, linens etc. ALSO, most importantly it is pet friendly and even Bailey (our Boxer) has a fantastic time.

The Cottage at The Fort is nothing short of superb. The entire property(including the 'Ole House') is beautiful, peaceful & private. Watching sunsets on the dock, strolling the causeway to the beach or just relaxing while watching the birds are the reasons to come to The Fort. We have been here numerous times & are unable to find a comparable property on the east coast. Peter is the quintessential host- always trying to ensure that your stay is perfect. Once you stay at The Fort, you will not want to leave.

This is a wonderful location with a beautiful beach cottage that is just 2 minutes from the ocean. I really loved being in the middle of all the beach happenings and when we got tired we went down the private gated road away from all the noise into a peaceful world. This is a great place!

This was a beautiful property that is ideal for a relaxing vacation. The cottage is lovely and very comfortable and the views of the marsh, lighthouse, wildlife are amazing. The beach is less than a 2 minute walk down a gated private road. I will come back to this gem.

Wow! The Cottage was perfect, and we had a wonderful time relaxing on the quiet end of Folly. We felt as if we were on our own lovely secluded island. If I had gotten my way, we would have just "squatted" until you forcibly removed us! The cottage was great and it had everything we needed. It was nice to have real porch & deck furniture (and a swing!)so that we could lounge the day away in comfort. The marsh was absolutely gorgeous and there was always something to watch: dolphins, crabs, fish, turtles, and tons of birds. I think I spent 75% of my time on the dock. Having great access to the beach was a nice bonus - just steps away. Beautiful sunsets, peaceful surroundings, lovely decor, all made for a perfect vacation. We will definitely be back. Thanks for everything!
