We stayed at Bailey's Chalet for a long Labor Day weekend. The house was great for our large family group - 6 adults and 4 children. Everything was very clean, cozy and well appointed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and furnished nicely. We cooked all our meals and found the kitchen to have everything we needed and the table arrangement was very convenient. There were TVs all over the house, though we did not watch much TV. The pool table, air hockey, fuss ball and hot tub were nice additions.
We rented a pontoon boat and moored it at the accompanying dock. You can also fish and swim from the dock. It's a walk to cross the road and go down the hill to the dock, but we felt this made it safer for the children than to have the water close by. There is not a good view of the lake from the cottage because of all the trees, so if you rented it in the early spring or later in the fall, the view would be very nice.
We liked the location on the lake near the state park. We rented a week-long park pass at the Long & Foster office and went to the park several times. The beach is very nice for small children and there is a lifeguard during the summer. We also rode our bikes there, and the area is bike friendly.
On the weekend the lake was quite busy and noisy starting about 7:30 in the morning with jet skis and water skiing. We were not interested in these activities and so we enjoyed the lake much more during the week when it was much quieter.
We certainly would be happy to rent this property again.
