| My daughter and I needed a reasonably priced place to stay during the Historic Apalachicola Homes Tour, and we like to think an angel directed us to this exquisite place that we lovingly called Mermaid's Crossing. It is, without a doubt, the most comfortable (and comforting), quaint and classy place I have ever stayed, including places all over Europe, in Australia and New Zealand, and across the USA! The owner invites you into her cozy, charming and precious cottage by the sea, and offers you hospitality you might never even see in your relatives' homes. Everything except your toothbrush and clothes are here, right down to classic, expensive bath products, beach supplies, cooking necessities, such as flour, coffee and sugar, to the exotic cooking spices fit for Emeril! Our BabyDog, the Pomeraninfant who travels with us loved it as much as we did! (She was welcomed with doggie toys on which to chew, and she was welcome on the sparkling, sugary beach, too!) We tried to count the mermaids in the decor, but found it impossible. It is a place you will leave, but it will never leave your heart! We left a tiny, pewter mermaid to add to the clan who already live there as an extra thank you gift for the generous, kind hostess, Lin, Mermaid-in-Chief, for sharing her darling home. It held us in its warm embrace, but not for long enough! We will be back! We love your Respite-by-the-Sea, Lin!! Thanks, again! |
