I stayed at the Beachwood Flat for nine weeks while I was in LA with the tour of "Spamalot". Eda was a lovely host and had the flat prepared with all kinds of homey touches when I arrived, from milk and cheese in the fridge to cut flowers in vases around the apartment. The flat is decorated beautifully and was a wonderful home for the summer. I especially loved the private outdoor patio - as did my cat, who spent countless hours out there enjoying the sun. I HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone visiting the LA area for a peaceful retreat away from the madness of the city. I loved the close proximity to Griffith Park and Los Feliz, although it was often hard to tear myself away from the apartment as it was so nice! I will definitely be back!

Visiting LA, we were looking for a home away from home – a place that would be a vacation in itself – and this was perfect. The pictures online looked great, the comments of other guests were very encouraging, but the reality was even better than we’d hoped –attractive and comfortable, with vases of fresh flowers in every room (even the lovely bathroom). The patio and lounge chair are as appealing as they look – a great place to relax, read and dine. The living room and bedroom are spacious, the decor warm and appealing, and every room has windows you can open to the breezes and scent of flowers. Lots of handy storage places let you unpack and feel at home. Eda hospitably stocks some basic groceries before you arrive – after asking your preferences! – and the kitchen is so nicely supplied with staples and great cooking gear that you’ll actually want to stay in and cook sometimes, despite tempting restaurants nearby. I found the neighborhood a delightfully interesting place for walks and convenient grocery shopping. If I thought we could return often, I’d be a little reluctant to promote competition for renting the Patio Retreat . . . but since we can’t, I’d recommend it to anyone lucky enough to be heading to LA.

We got real Lucky! My girlfriend and I stayed at Eda's Beachwood Flat and what a treat it was. From our first dealings and the promise of Brownies (which was fulfilled) to the last day we left, Eda was the perfect host. My designer girlfriend, who is not easily impressed, was blown over at how nicely furnished and comfortable this cozy one bedroom was. Eda, (who Tracy pronounced Ida or Yoda at first) has thought of everything from the fully equipped kitchen to the luxurious silky sheets. The patio is bigger than the picture shows and was perfect for morning coffee and evening glasses of wine as the cayotes howled in the lush hills of Beachwood Canyon. This is a slice of Hollywood that many people will never know. You can walk a block up the road to the local market or have coffee at the historic coffee shop. Gawking at the Hollywood sign was last on our list of things to do because we barely wanted to leave the confines of Eda's little slice of heaven. We tried to bribe her to let us rent this place long term, as we were house hunting, but she was strong and would not fall victim to my honed powers of ruthless negotiation. Touche' Eda! We will be back, and hopefully be neighbors with our wild cayote-like mongrels, Tess and Wiley. Thanks for everything!

The "cottage" was perfect. Everything we needed was there. We really appreciated all of the extra touches which made it feel like home. It was especially nice to have groceries provided to get us started since we were arriving late from a flight. Having the broadband access, two flat screen televisions, ipod charger, etc. made things easy and pleasant. The laundry area was wonderful. One of the things we really enjoyed was the the lovely, private patio with the nice table and lounge chair. We ate outside often and took advantage of the great weather. The flowers were beautiful. Jim and I will recommend your place to all of our friends and colleagues who may be coming to the Los Angeles/Hollywood area.
