By way of introduction, Coronado is a lovely place to stay. If you don't require being on the beach, and you want to do a bit of walking, this may be the place for you -- there is good reason to walk on Coronado! And finally, you're 10 minutes from the convention center and 20 minutes from the airport.
In focusing on the cottage itself, it is beautifully furnished and situated on a lovely, small lot hidden on an alley. It's comfortable for reading, talking, sitting in the sun, and enjoying the flowers. You really have a sense of privacy here. The cottage description on VRBO is accurate, so no further details are really necessary, however, the 2 suite bedrooms (K,Q) make for a wonderful retreat for 2 couples. My favorite part of the accommodation was the Asian soaking tub -- wonderful!
You're only blocks from most everything on Coronado but I suggest that you come with a car in order to see the many attractions around San Diego. Public transportation might be something to look for if you're staying longer than one or two weeks.
Lastly, communication with the proprietor was uncomplicated and pleasurable, whether by email or phone. He is responsive, helpful, and efficient.

| We stayed here with our 18 month old and some friends who have a 3 yr old child. We had a wonderful time. The cottage was beautiful just like in the pictures, clean, very welcoming, and cosy. It was so nice to come back to the cottage after a day out exploring San Diego to kick back and relax. My husband had a conference in downtown and we also made trips to the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and the Wild Animal Park. The cottage was a great location, mostly 10-15 minutes to anywhere we wanted to go except for Wild Animal Park which was a bit further up north. The owner was very nice and accomodating in meeting us to give us the key. He also gave us great recommendations on things to do and places to eat in Coronado. It was great to stay here as a family and with our friends as the kids had space to play and we were also often able to eat in and cook in the fully-equipped kitchen. We would definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity in the future. |

| This Coronado cottage was the perfect accomodation for our family while we stayed in Coronado. The location is convenient to the park, main street and ocean. The cottage's kitchen is well-stocked with cooking implements and the larged, fenced-in back yard is perfect for kids. It is nicely decorated in a comfortable style that made us glad to come in and relax. We will definitely keep this property on our list as one to stay in again. |

| Let me sum up our stay: FABULOUS! The house is darling (more on that below), the owners are wonderful to work with, and the location is ideal - easy walk to everything Coronado: Spreckels park which is great park for kids to play, the Hotel Del Coronado and the downtown area with our favorite burger place, Burger Lounge - do not miss it!, the marina area, and beautiful beaches everywhere. We also thought Coronado island was a great place to stay to 'see' San Diego, everything was relatively quick drive - 20ish minutes from the island. And this home truly was the sanctuary we had hoped it would be. We have a young daughter and newborn and we were looking for a place just to relax, cook meals, and enjoy our family and we definitely found that here. The house is cozy and it was such a pleasure waking up everyday in our big king size bed with delicious down comforter and light coming in everywhere and starting the day playing with our kids. Everything has been 'thought of': its easy to get on the internet, the kitchen has what you need, there are speakers and docking station for your ipod, the master shower has special valve to get extra hot which I loved, TV upstairs so could have cartoons for our daughter, extra quilts and pillows and they were beautiful, the decor has that beachy cottage feel, the deck off the master bedroom is perfect for sneaking off and reading a book in the sun, the owners were accommodating and helpful and just nice people... well, we loved everything about it and everyday my husband and I had to look at each other and comment about how great the place was and how glad we were to have found it! |

My wife and I visit Coronado every summer to escape the Arizona 110s. Last August we toured the Midway Museum in downtown San Diego and had a great time. My Dad and I were both stationed on aircraft carriers in the Navy, so we knew this would be a great trip for all of us when my parents visited again. We hadn’t rented on VRBO before, but we knew we wanted to be comfortable. We won’t be going back to a hotel. This quaint, CLEAN cottage was perfect for our visit. We walked to the shops and restaurants in minutes. Returning to the cottage from a day of fun felt like coming home. Everything we needed was there. |

If only VRBO had a star rating system instead of just the choice between positive and negative…it does not do this perfect little cottage justice to just say positive. The cottage is even more beautiful than the photos if you can imagine that. Every time I turned around there was another unique detail that made me wish I never had to leave.
I invited some friends down from Del Mar and Carlsbad (who have beautiful homes in their own right) and they were oohing and aaahing over everything! They took tons of photos and commented that they would be borrowing some of the ideas for their own homes and gardens. They also pointed out the quality of all of the appliances (I am truly clueless in that department) – “Ooh a Viking stove!” and commented that the faucet in the kitchen sink alone probably cost $500…and it is really cool!
The owners could not be more accommodating or pleasant. I don’t know where I left my brain the night we arrived, but, despite the fact that I lived in San Diego twice for a combined 12 years, I got completely lost on my way from the airport, normally less than a 10 minute ride. It took me over an hour and while I was completely mortified, the owners waited patiently at the cottage to give me the keys.
This was a very special trip. My two children and I were celebrating our new life after a very difficult divorce and we could not have chosen a more perfect place to stay. Originally I had wanted a cottage right by the beach. This turned out to be so much better. It is off of an alleyway – no part of the property is on a public street. It is quiet, private and stunning in a “Cottage Living” kind of way. Every little detail has been taken care of…even the quality of the towels – I don’t have this quality of towels in my own home - who knew Restoration Hardware made towels? And that they were so soft and thick! There is a tree in the backyard that blew me away. It is the most beautiful tree I have ever seen and I had to ask the owner what it was so that I could get one for myself! He said it was morning glory vines that he grew over a dead fig tree; imagine delicate purple blooms atop a vine-wrapped tree…out of a storybook. My 15-year-old son and his best friend were able to do their own thing. They walked to the beach (maybe a mile away) and back, stopping at a diner for a bite on the way and at the park to throw the football around. It was great that they were able to be so independent.
I am already dreaming about when I can book my next trip…
