What an incredible treat and adventure it was to stay in Randy and Elaine's Yurt!! I stayed there back in mid February with my boyfriend at the time and it was very very special time we shared. First of all Randy and Elaine were so sweet and friendly. A very wise couple with so much knowledge about living life 'unplugged'. Staying at the Eco Yurt enabled us to participate in and experience this lifestyle first hand which included luxuries such as hot water, electricity (DVD viewing capability!), a warm and cozy Yurt, and a full kitchen! The weekend we stayed turned out to be the weekend of a big storm but we decided to brave it and enjoy what the elements dished up for us anyway. It turned out to be a beautiful mix of weather and was mostly clear save for the day we were to return home. During the night it became quite rainy and Randy and Elaine were very helpful in making sure we had enough supplies to last us until the rain passed and we were able to make the trek in the 4wheel drive across the beautiful expansive landscape back to where we had left our car. It was just the two of us in the Eco Yurt but there was potential for many more to sleep comfortably. I hope to one day return to this beautiful escape and bring the whole family. Thank you so so much, Randy and Elaine!! I wish you the best.

| What an incredible escape! Even with 4 adults and 3 kids, there was plenty of space in the yurt. The environs are really beautiful and still the soul. The area is incredible for kids to run around, hike and take in nature. There is no cell / poor cell reception which was great. The Yurt is a beautiful structure and was very comfortable and well equipped. There are great hikes, beautiful skies and amazing sunsets (and sunrises. This would be a super place to ride horses if you had some. Last but not least, Elaine and Randy are the nicest and most helpful hosts. |

Hi Elaine & Randy,
Sterling and I want to thank you both for a wonderful stay. The yurt was everything we hoped it would be! And the evening sky was exactly as you had described it. We did see every ounce of the Milky Way! We also appreciate the personal attention you provided. Like you, we believe in living sustainably and you should both be proud of what you two have accomplished up there! We aspire to living as sustainably as the two of you and we want to thank you for sharing both your knowledge and expertise with us as well as the tour of your property. We only wish that we had more time to see the hidden waterfall. The cabin is beautiful! The transformation is something truly amazing. We look forward to staying again and would highly recommend your hospitality to anyone looking for an authentic & comfortable off the grid experience.
Sterling & Saundra
P.S. I put together a slide show of our road trip/yurt experience. Turn up the volume so you can hear the music.

homeowner-added comment: Thanks again for sharing your beautiful place! It was very rejuvenating! I've shared your website with a couple friends who do yoga / meditation retreats, so perhaps I'll be back before too long. Best, Christina

We (two couples)stayed at the cabin for 2 nights at then end of May. It was gorgeous! The house is made of wood and glass and is well decorated with antiques and leather couches. It has a modern/rustic feel. We loved being off the grid and still living in luxury (fridge, hot shower, fans, TV if you want). We made it all weekend with just the electricity of the solar panel. We are cooks and enjoyed the kitchen, it is small but has a decent assortment of pots and pans -- if you are a serious chef, bring your own knives. It is about a 30 min. drive to the house on a dirt road, so if you are going for just a weekend, I'd suggest planning to stay up there. We thought we'd want to go to the beach but it is a bit farther then we thought and it is really beautiful so there is no reason to leave. If we were there for a week, then we'd take some day trips but for a weekend, I recommend staying put. There are lots of pretty hikes and it is very quiet and relaxing. The stars are incredible and the views are breathtaking. Unless you have a truck or SUV, take the ride from Elaine and Randy! I've driven plenty of dirt roads and this one is best done in a tall vehicle. We will definitely return!!
