Conveniently situated in the Tuscany/Chianti region of Italy, this recently renovated field-stone clad apartment is the perfect location to set off exploring the picture perfect vineyards & wineries, the castles & ancient ruins, that are so fascinating to us in the United States. The tiny hamlet of San Sabo is approximately a 3 hour drive from Rome. The 1,000 sq. ft. apartment features 2 bedrooms (the king sized beds are wonderful) 2 bath (one with a garden style Jacuzzi tub) and a “great room” with soaring ceilings, a queen sized sleeper sofa, and a fully equipped kitchen and washing machine. We were thrilled with having a small restaurant/grocery just steps from our door, so that we could savor the fresh bread, cheeses, wines, and gourmet meals that were available to us. Renting a car, driving the back roads of this truly spectacular part of Italy, sampling the foods and wines of tiny, out of the way vineyards, and perusing small treasures at the weekly markets in the area was a dream come true for my husband and me. I highly recommend coming to the area “off season”, as we did (early spring). There are no crowds at the many tourist attractions, the weather is more bearable and the trees and fields are bursting forth with early color! One of our favorite towns was Radda in Chianti. The restaurants were good, the weekly markets had every sort of seasonal vegetables, fruits, and meats. The main concern of most Americans is how expensive is it to travel in Italy. We found by staying in the apartment and eating breakfast and dinner there, we could find many well priced restaurants for lunch, during our excursions. The highlights of our recent trip there included watching incredible purple/pink/golden sunsets from the apartment, meeting knowledgeable wine purveyors in the many vineyards and “enotecas”, and discovering the fabulous Estruscan ruins and museums in Volterra. Would we go this route again, in renting an apartment & car? Absolutely!!

Homeowner Response:
I am so glad to hear about my guests wonderful experiences in Italy. I am happy you so enjoyed the apartment. While the pictures are nice, I don't think they capture the beauty, peacefulness, and serenity of our loverly home. I am glad you had a wonderful time and look forward to you and your guests again. Thank you for leaving some of your tourist material and how clean it was when you left.
