Just returned from our sixth trip to Cabo; the people and the beach are wonderful. If you have never been only stay on Medano beach, much of Cabo faces the Pacific and is not swimable beach plus hotels on the corridor are on cliffs and the cost of a taxi to town round trip is almost $70. The hotels on Medano beach cost $7 to town which is ten minutes. We love Villa la Estancia and stayed in a ground floor unti. (We found it on VBO #200049). You have a view of the arch all day and after dark you can not see it so you might as well enjoy the ease and convenience of a ground floor unit. The owners rental rates are very reasonable and I highly recommend checking with them first. It is two bedrooms, three baths and a queen fold out in the living room. The Kitchen is great and we love having a washer and dryer; with work-out clothes from the fitness center plus sandy beach swimsuits you can really cut down on how much to take. I like their unit in particular because it has easy access to the pool and beach; ground level is such a convenience!(Our unit # was 2206) Using stairways and elevators everytime you want to go to your room is just a pain! There are several great restaurants within walking distance on the beach. In town we love Alexanders but always go to Mama;s for breakfast and Felix's for dinner. It is a shack but he has been featured on the Food network over and over and has a salsa bar to die for. Cabo is less crowded than Cancun or the Yucatan and more upscale although the cost is the same. The hotel is wonderful and everyone is friendly. The beach pedlers can be fun and gladly go away when you say no thanks. Beware of timeshare scams and when you arrive do not stop until you are outdoors at the airport; the timeshare people act like they are there to pick you up. We use Baja Transfers available in advance on line and have never been disappointed; they are owned out of San Antonio, Texas and have super vans and great people. Never Never late. Cabo is a short flight, coming from the Dallas area it is so much faster than Hawaii, we can be on the beach by noon with no jet lag. I highly recommend Medano Beach; If you can not get a unit at Villa la Estancia go for the Pueblo Bonito Blanco and thirdly the P.B Rose; both are very nice.Always try to rent directly from owners for the best deals. All 3 have swimable beaches and lots of great places to eat and drink. Enjoy! We can't wait to get back; although they nearly caught the hurricaine last week over all Los Cabos; (airport code is SJD) gets only 7 to 10 days of rain per year and is beautiful everyday and a little cooler in the evenings. Your cell phone will work and they accept U.S. dollars. Go and ENJOY!
