| We stayed at the Reefhouse from 6/11/09 to 6/20/09. The view was awesome. It was very comfortable and we had all the supplies we needed to prepare meals, we just had to add the food.Make sure to check the times when the ferry arrives and departs as the traffic is a little much, but with patience and learning the times you will miss the traffic jams. Blue beach and Red beach were closed during are stay so we went to Gringo Beach and snorkeled everyday from 10am to about 3pm when the locals would come with their families for a swim after a hard days work.We had the pleasure of seeing stingrays, starfish, parrotfish, angelfish, tangs of every color(powder blue, yellow/black stripped, naso tangs, all kinds),bubble coral, cleaner fish, brain coral.... I'm sure you get the picture) If you find your way to Esperanza make sure to have a meal at Bananas, you won't be dissappointed. They have excellent Red snapper and great salads. We will be coming back!!! |

Wow! What a wonderful place to live while visiting Vieques. The house had everything we needed from snorkeling gear, a cooler, beach towels, and three comfortable bedrooms. We loved the beaches, bio bay, and everything we discovered on beautiful Vieques. Tom was right there to pick us up and get us settled in. Thanks for a great first time visit, hope it's not our last! If I go back, I saw no better place then the Reefhouse. |

Hola! Thanks so much for this fabulous house. We enjoyed everything about Vieques – surf just out the door, snorkeling in Green Beach, kayaking near Esperanza, lush drives on remote roads and all the horses. It was perfect.

We had a very good time on Vieques and at the Reefhouse. The location of your house is fabulous, we enjoyed being able to walk to town (icecreams on the plaza) and to the beach. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, listening to the surf, eating our meals there and taking in the incredible views. The kids had plenty to do exploring the garden, chasing the lizards, swimming and snorkeling. The beach chairs and the bag with beach toys were excellent. The kitchen was well equipped with everything. We cooked almost all our meals at the house, therefore this was very important. We hope to return!

Thank you for the use of your wonderful house. Couldn't have had a nicer time and the Reefhouse is so perfectly set up. Kids loved the lizards and hummingbirds. Went to a different beach every day (Media Luna a real favorite!) and the bio bay too.
We are going to try our hardest to come back. Just a great place and really loved and appreciated your house.

The house is lovely, comfortable, and totally livable. The wide and deep sea views are enchanting, as is the pretty front yard with well-placed hammock. All furnishing comfortable and adequate for 4-6 people. Easy, charming décor. Plenty of towels and hats. We had a great time! The chilled wine on arrival was most welcomed – thank you!!

We stayed at the Reefhouse for 2 glorious weeks in January. The house was everything it was said to be - comfortable, great view, well-equipped, and an amazing deck where we spent most of our time, watching the water, the pelicans, the sunsets. We tried some good restaurants - Blue Macaw, Quenepo - but most nights we cooked and ate on the deck. We loved the wifi so we could sit on the porch - and our own papayas for breakfast. Snorkeling was the best at the beach by the house and beside the pier - starfish galore and lots of fish. |

Jan 23, 2008 Almost two weeks later I can find my way around, recognize various locals and have forgotten what winter feels like. Was it the sun, the sea or the wine? Fantastic time here at the Reefhouse which has to be the most perfect location. Time for the beach every day (Red the fave), time to experience gringo culture and learn to get to the bakery early! You just can’t do it all in a week, so darn, we’ll just have to come back. Being curious and nosy will take you to some great places. Be sure to hike to the black sandy beach – locate the meal road guard between 7.0 and 7.1 km markers on 201 south. Park your car across from 7.1 marker, walk back to guard, go down into the arroyo, do not go back under the bridge, take path to right – a 10 to 15 min walk puts you on the beach, wear water shoes. Good sea beach glass spot and the beach is a geological oddity – about 100-150 yds of black sand. Do NOT rent from Vieques Rental Cars. If you’re a diver do the Blue Beach drift dive out of Black beard Sports – wow! House was great – comfortable and a great deck. We appreciated the wifi, and all the reference books.

Dec 25, 2007 Thanks for a very special holiday treat to rent this place. We are a family of cooks, and had many epic meals on the porch- tonight was grilled lobster straight out of the sea with garlic butter and oh so much more. Look forward to a few more days of R&R before heading back to ASF, CA. So far we have hit a different beach every day – Blue is by far the favorite of all, although snorkeling is Navio is good. Many thanks for sharing your lovely home with us. We spent our days relaxing, reading and visiting all the various and unique beaches. Our favorite was Navio beach, with its large waves, perfect for body surfing and boogie boarding. Snorkeling was the best on Green Beach. For all those who love fishing and adventures, we strongly recommend taking a tour with Garry Lowe through Vieques Adventures. It is a kayak/fishing tour. Our most memorable experience was going on a kayak through the bioluminescent bay. It is a thrilling ride, unlike anything else. The only place we ate out was at the pizzeria in Esperanza. Although the exterior of the building isn’t charming, the pizza is delicious. Our kids loved having the wireless internet. Tom, Sandy, Nick, Sara and Chris, Plainfield, IL.

June 25, 2007 There’s nothing quite like a house with a beautiful view on a gorgeous island. We have had a great time getting to know the area and discovering what Vieques has to offer. For food we loved Bili’s and Media Luna but Bananas was not so great. The little bakery down by the clock is great for pastries and good bread but it’s best if you go first thing in the morning. On Tuesdays they have a great puff pasty with cream cheese ….yum! We loved the all-day tour with Abe. Kayaking into Bio Bay is the best because you learn all about the mangroves and are right there on the water. It makes the experience so much more personal. We took a charter flight to Culebra for the day (the flight was round trip about $50 each) Thank you for a great house that is very well equipped. We only would have liked a sharper kitchen knife. Dan, Sandy, Melanie, and Juan, San Diego, CA and Santiago, Chile PS. The best drinks are at Island Steakhouse at the Crow’s Nest

Try the BioBay tour with Abe’s snorkeling, We went for the whole day snorkeling. An amazing trip through the mangroves, dinner on the beach and an amazing swim in the Bio Bay. He’s a great guy and can answer any question you come up with. Thanks for the wonderful stay.

What a wonderful week. The house was all I had hoped it to be. I love being so close to the ocean and hearing the water constantly. The deck was great. I spent a lot of time out there- eating, reading and looking at the moon and sunsets. I swam daily at the beach just down the hill – so easy. Also explored other beaches. Had a good dinner and brunch at BBH. I certainly want to rent this house again.

Another great month at the Reefhouse. This is the best house we have had in 10 years of island vacations (Bahamas and Vieques) since my retirement. The view from the porch is as close to paradise as it gets. We were very pleased to find excellent snorkeling waters just in front of the house (reached from the small sandy beach to the east). Watching the surfers from the house was great fun. We love the pelicans – great to see them dive for fish from 60-70 feet when we were fishing w of the pier. Hope to return,Mary and Gibb Cornwell, Lyme NH

Our second visit to the Reefhouse. What luxury to spend two hours on the porch every morning with coffee and my book! Secret Beach was our favorite snorkeling spot this year. Gray and Helen had fun on a jet-ski rented from the Fun Brothers, and we saw a manta ray off the pier in Esperanza when they returned Dinner at Chez Shack was AMAZING. (ask for the Jungle Table and be sure to say “good Evening” to the gnome who lives in the tree). Gray and Helen had a glorious evening horseback ride with Penny Miller through town, on the beach, in the water. The ceiba tree is worth a visit and go find “Black Beach”. Gray enjoyed snorkeling in front of the house and exploring back roads in the jeep. We are not excited about digging the car out of a foot of snow when we return home tonight! Many thanks, Kitty, Gray and Helen Cornwell, Madbury NH

We had a wonderful stay. The Reefhouse is restful, beds are comfortable, kitchen well equipped, library full of reference books. We spent most of our time on the porch with the sound of the waves and the pelicans and frigate birds flying by. And beautiful sunsets. We visited a different beach every day - our favorite was Red Beach. The beach by the Reefhouse is good for snorkeling or a swim - one day three boys on horses came down and urged their horses into the water. We liked to walk into town (a short stroll past the lighthouse) to get icecreams at Scoops. And sundowners at the Mar Azul. After two weeks we were just getting nicely slowed down! We'll be back! |

The Reefhouse outside of Isabella Secunda is perfect for many reasons. If I could only choose one thing to commend it, it would probably be its spectacular location. It is perched above the ocean, set off from the road, walking distance from town and amazingly separate from neighboring houses. It seems like a little paradise, surrounded by flowers and towering palms. If you did nothing else during your stay on Vieques but sit on the large, wrap around porch and watch the brown pelicans skim over the surface of the ocean, you would be perfectly content.
But there are many other things besides the location to recommend The Reefhouse. The house is clean, simple and full of all the amenities island life requires – sun hats, snorkels, cards, books, ping-pong and outdoor shower and outdoor grill. Another notable aspect about this rental property is the obvious generosity and good will of the proprietors. Just by staying in their house, you know they love the island, and love sharing their house, There are many field guides available and personal advice about restaurants, beaches, walks, and island etiquette. You truly feel like they are sharing this place with you and they want you to see the beauty and diversity of a place they love and appreciate. In their library, they gently remind you to keep the field guides and reference books there, but to take a reading book with you or leave one of yours behind.
We had a great time in Vieques……. at the beaches, at the bioluminescent bay and in the restaurants; but playing poker for hours perched above the ocean at The Reefhouse was a dream. We can’t wait to return.

| We just returned from a refreshing week at the Reef House. The six of us would happily recommend it to any group. It is everything the website says - beautifully located, comfortably furnished, and well managed. We loved being right on the water as well as a short walk to town. The patio for morning coffee, afternoon naps, and sunset watching is beautiful. A great place! |

We loved staying at the Reefhouse and would return in a second. It was spotless, well decorated, comfortable (great beds). The kitchen was fully equipped. We sat on the terrace, or barbecued overlooking the ocean and the fabulous sunsets. We swam and snorkeled at the beach by the Reefhouse, but also at many other of the white sand beaches ringin Vieques. Don't miss the bioluminescent bay - it's unforgettable. |

We stayed at the Reefhouse for two weeks in July. It was wonderful. The house is beautifully situated on a nice piece of property overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The house was very clean & well equipped. (everything from snorkeling equipment to kitchen utensils to a well stocked bookshelf) .It was a great place for the children (ages 6 & 8) as well as the adults. The deck outside offers amazing sunsets & birdwatching. The grounds have fruit trees (while we were there mangos were in season. What a treat to have your own mango tree) & beautiful flowers. The caretakers of the house (Paul & Rikki) were always available for information and direction as to the best places to go, see & eat on the island. We had a lovely & relaxing visit. I would definitely go back to Vieques & stay at the Reefhouse again.

| We had a great vacation at the Reefhouse. The kitchen is very well equipped and functional. The views from the large patio area are impressive. The house is in a quiet area, yet town is within walking distance. The owners and property managers were very helpful. |
