We had a wonderful week. The weather was great. We were the only ones here at the beginning of the week so we had the pool, hot tub and beach to ourselves. The girls went for lots of walks by themselves on the beach looking for shells. Everyone was very friendly; we didn´t have to worry about them.

Carlos was great. He drove us around Puerto Morelos the first day pointing out stores and restaurants. He introduced us to Charly Brown, whom we later went snorkeling with. He also made other suggestions for outings.

We ate at all the restaurants (except John Gray´s - it was closed on Sunday night, so it´s a good idea to check hours). All of our meals were great. We did breakfast and lunch at the condo, so the grocery store was a big help; we found all the basics we needed.

After reading the guest book in the condo, we decided to go to the Botanical Gardens around 4:30 to see the monkeys, but they closed at 4:00; I guess because it was low season we should have checked the hours or asked Carlos to check for us. We also went to the Crocodile Zoo! It was very cool, with lots of things other than the crocodiles; the monkeys climb right on you, trying to steal your bananas! It would be a great outing for younger kids.

We really enjoyed the week. The condo felt just like home after a long day of sun and beach. We had an amazing stay!

Stayed from October 15-21, 2009

This was our second visit to Palma Real. We were here in July 2009 and fell in love with the condo and the town. It is very relaxing here; few tourists and not many solicitors; perfect location to relax and enjoy the beach and ocean, yet only 20 minutes to Cancun or Playa del Carmen to enjoy the shops. It is very easy to get around without a car; many bus shuttle options and taxis everywhere.

It is a good idea to let Carlos shop for snacks and groceries, etc. He will get the best prices and it is well worth his small fee. Carlos can get you the best deals on excursions, snorkeling, etc., too.

Captain Hook Pirate Tour and Dinner Cruise from Cancun Mexico is highly recommended.

The pool and the beach were always clean. We plan to come back again in March or April 2010 if the condo has availability.

Our stay at Puerto Morelos has been wonderful.

The views from the condo are spectacular. Waking up to the sunrise over the ocean was unbeatable! We spent much time lounging by the pool. We also love the decor - beautiful metal artwork.

The restaurants were delicious and varied; we especially loved David Lau´s for dinner; Valarie the waitress was a spirited delight.

Carlos has been helpful and gracious; it was a treat to share time with his wife and son. Jose Luis keeps everything in top shape; every morning he combs and cleans the beach of sea grass, and always has a smile.

We are sorry to leave; We will be back.

This condo is amazing; everything we expected and more.

We loved the town of Puerto Morelos; natural Mexico with wonderful people.

The snorkeling was FUN and beautiful. Be careful on ATV's - easy to fall off.
Much to do here and much more to explore. We enjoyed staying around town and watching the children play and the families.

Security at Palma Real is TOP NOTCH. Roberto looked out for us while out at night.
The pool was always clean. Carlos does is doing an excellent job maintaining and keeping the condo clean.

Use repellent at night. The mosquitos love Americans.

This has been the best vacation thus far. We would love to come back twice per year, and would like to stay 8 days next time. We will surely be back soon!

Our honeymoon here has been more than we could have dreamed of. This place is amazing!

We loved the view and hearing the sound of the waves from our bedroom. We spent a lot of time in the pool - which we almost always had to ourselves.

We would generally walk into to town for dinner, which was great every time. Everyone was so friendly to us. We especially loved Valery from David Lau´s Restaurant.

One of the days we went to Playa del Carmen and shopped and ate dinner. That was very fun. We also went snorkeling with Charly Brown in Puerto Morelos one day, which was also lots of fun. Carlos at Palma Real was so nice and helpful, and we enjoyed getting to know him.

We had an amazing time and hope to be able to come back someday!

As we sit here in Pelicanos Restaurant waiting for our breakfast to arrive, we reflect on our week here in Puerto Morelos.

The condo is well appointed, and has most things needed to self-cater, although we usually only had breakfast there.

For dinner, we would try one of the many good restaurants in town. Valery at David Lau´s treats everyone like family, and the pizza and wonton soup are exceptional. Pelicanos and La Casa del Pescador are also worth mentioning.

It is a shame that the hype of the H1N1 flu virus has scared off many tourists. You can see that the tour operators are struggling, as are restaurant owners. Nevertheless, the town and its people are friendly & helpful.

The staff at the Palma Real are great. Kudos to Roberto, the night security guard, who appreciated the time we took to let him practice his English, and likewise, we appreciated him helping us with our limited Spanish. Jose Luis kept the grounds and pool in top shape and was always with a smile. And Carlos was a great resource, always available if we needed anything; he has a network of trusted contacts which he was happy to share.

All in all, a great first experience in Puerto Morelos.

We booked this condo last November as a college graduation present for our kids. We couldn't
wait to arrive, but just before our trip, the media hype hit with the Swine Flu epidemic.
Thankfully, we worked with David and his condo agent Carlos, and went anyway. Best thing we ever
did!

No internet picture could ever capture the essence of this condo. Everything was well thought out
and furnished. The views from anywhere in the condo, were unreal. The master bedroom and bathroom
were spectacular. We have stayed in quite a few beachfront condos in the Gulf, but this one would
be, if not number one, then in the top 3 without any doubt.

In addition, the complex itself is well thought out. The infinity pool is incredible, as is the
sun deck. The beach is not very wide, but is the softest light-tan sand you will ever find. It
was not hot to the touch, even in 85 - 90 degree temperatures. There were at least six condos
occupied while we were there, but there were never any problems with noise.

Any condo complex is only as good as the support staff in charge. Palma Real's staff is first
rate. Carlos picked us up at the airport, gave us a tour of Puerto Morelos, and made sure we were
COMPLETELY settled in, before he left. He was always there for us, set us up with the tours that
we wanted to take, hooked us up with some great resteraunts, and made sure that we were always
happy. One day he saw us in town as we were picking up a few things at the little grocery store
and drove us home. He's just that kind of guy.

Jaun Luis has an eye for detail. He was always there at the crack of dawn, cleaning the pool and
making sure everything, including the beach, was pristine.

Roberto kept an eye out for us at night and we always felt safe in the complex. On top of that,
he takes great pictures!

Puerto Morelos is in my estimation, about the finest beach town anyone could ask for. No glitz,
no glamor, just real Mexico on the beach. Easy to get around (we always walked - 10 - 15 min.
from the condo), friendly, and wanting to make your trip great. Abraham Gomez is our new amigo.
From the moment we met him in the grocery as he helped us translate, he exemplified the people of
the town. We started calling him the Ambassador of Puerto Morelos. He has a shop on the North
end of the square where he paints with his fingers. Fantastico!

This is one condo that you don't want to miss, a town that is worth visiting, we can't wait to go
back!

We had a wonderful time!!

We had an absolutely perfect time in Puerto Morelos. This exquisite little fishing village offers a large number of restaurants and countless activities for everyone! Carlos is a wonderful host and makes you feel as though you are a guest in his own home. We highly recommend taking advantage of the other services he offers (airport pick up/drop off and picking up some groceries before you arrive – ask him for recommendations, he found us a great cheese for home-made quesadillas!).

We always worry about safety/cleanliness when traveling with a toddler but this condo gets five stars on all accounts! The condo was spotless and the complex offers 24 hour security. Carlos had even gone through and “baby proofed” the place so we didn’t have to worry about it when we arrived. The pool also has a shallow end that you can lie around in or let your little one run around on if you bring no slip water shoes.

Recommendations for your visit:

- Gaucho’s Restaurant

- David Lau’s (ask for Valerie)

- Mama’s Bakery

- Rosy’s Juice Bar

- Visit the Cenotes/Zip Lines (they are VERY close)

- Snorkelling/Diving

- Renting bikes (no need for cars and the condo has a place to lock the bikes up)

- Yoga at the Cultural Centre

- Visit the Fruit and Veggie stand on Wednesday mornings by the church (or the ones across the highway, apparently you can get a litre of fresh squeezed orange juice for $2!)

- Visit the stores next to the ice cream shop – we took a picture of the area and had it hand painted for us. The store across also has beautiful iron works.

All the best, enjoy your visit!

WOW - to think that the media hype almost kept us from coming to Mexico - but after working with
David & Carlos, here we are - Thanks guys!!!

We have stayed in quite a few condos, but this is one of the very best. The pictures do not do it
justice! Everything was well laid out and confortable. The hammock and the master bedroom/shower
were the best. Details, details, details. Even the Pool/Jaccuzzi, beach chairs, and sun deck
were well thought out!

Carlos took care of all of our needs and had great suggestions for restaurats and things to do.
Jose Luis kept the area beautiful and clean, and Roberto not only made sure the lace was secure,
but took great pictures too!

Puerto Morelos is one fantastic little town. EVERYONE is so friendly. Abraham Gome is great
example. He stopped and helped us at the grocery store, and from there we became great amigos.
Also Phillipe, Valerie and Charlie Brown (who has a great snorkelng tour).

David Lau´s and La Casa del Pescador were our favorites restaurants, but we didnt have a bad meal
anywhere. The prices are unbelievably low!

Carlos - Thank you so much for all that you did for us. We will miss you. Abraham - thanks to you
too - take care of that wonderful little daughter of yours.

This is Paradise! It is hard to leave this town. We can wait to come back!

PS: A couple of things we forgot to mention, make sure you checkout Abraham's store right next to
the ice cream shop; he is a great artist; paints with his finger, great prices and speaks very
good English.

Also - on our first night, went to David Lau´s restaurant and saw Jerry Van Dyke (the actor). He
was born and raised in our small town in Illinois. We had a wonderful conversation over dinner.
Small world! Keep your eyes open!

The time flew at this beautiful seaside retreat.

We spent our 1st week in Akumal - also very beautiful.

Our time was unfortunate becuase it coincided with the Swine Flu Scare. We never got to see the Botanical Gardens, which remained closed the entire week we were here, but Coba, Tulum & Chichen-Itza were magical. Snorkeling at the reef was stunning, as was our trip to Xel-ha - well worth the $ & entire day. We would have loved to see Jungle Place - Monkey Rescue - but learned of it to late & couldn´t get reservations in time. For animal lovers, a trip to Crococun is a must - very memorable. A trip to Sian Kaán is for anyone who loves true wilderness. Our guide Miguel was excellent! He works at Cesiak, where they also serve excellent food.

We disliked going into Cancun for any reason, and much prefered Playa del Carmen for shopping.

Carlos can keep you very well informed; we found his recomendations & info right on.

Our favorite restaurant was David Lau's, but also enjoyed Pelicanos.

The condo´s main issue is hot H2O which was rarely balanced. It would have been nice to have more linens as well - but these are fine points.

For animal lovers: please take care of Oso, the brown & black dog who lives next door, as well as the light orange cat. They are gentle & in need of more nourishment. The dog who lives at Crococun is also a treasure - we´d have taken them home if it was possible. They are all very gentle and sweet.

Enjoy your trip here. You´ll be well taken care of by all!

It has been a wonderful week! This place is so beautiful, and the proximity to the ocean is amazing. The condo is more than we hoped for. We loved sleeping to the sound of the surf every night.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to relax away from the crowds. The town of Puerto Morelos is so quaint. We enjoyed shopping and eating there. Everyone in Mexico is friendly and accomodating.

We recommend snorkeling with the group that operates off the pier in town. We had the most wonderful experience out on the beautiful reefs. Our kids, ages 10 and 12 were amazed! We also rode horses at Bonita Loma, about 10 mins. south of here; and Crococun, just north of town, was an awesome zoo experience; we got to hold, feed and pet snakes, crocodiles, birds, iguanas, monkeys, deer and more! Of course, the kids were just as happy swimming in the beautiful pool and ocean.

This has truly been a memorable vacation. We dont usually return to the same place, but this is one condo that will definitely come back to! Thanks so much to Carlos for all he did for us. He made this whole experience much more special.

This condo is beautiful - really made our vacation comfortable. We have never been closer to the ocean. The views are wonderful!!

Carlos, Jose and the night staff all work together to create a safe, comfortable and clean place to stay.

We enjoyed Puerto Morelos; the people are very friendly and honest. Our restaurant experiences were delicious.

Rent bicycles to ride to and from - it is very convenient.
Go to Botanical gardens - monkeys everywhere.

Thank you for a memorable week.

What a sensation - Sipping coffee, watching the sun rise, listening to the waves and feeling the breeze - outside - in March!! We escaped the longest and coldest winter we´ve experienced in years!! - and thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Thank you for the use of your condo. It´s bright, spacious, and confortable. My husband had his emails and I the hammock for indulgent beach reads.

We welcomed the attention of Carlos, and thank him, and enjoyed getting to know Jose Luis, who works hard every day, and Roberto & Raul for taking care of our safety!

Salud!!

We are almost tempted to tell all of our friends that it is not a good place; the truth is we don't want anyone else to come here & take our Special Place. (HA HA)

This condo & all of the surroundings are truly beautiful & we love it very much. We ate out at some of the local restaurants and the food was awesome.

Carlos was very helpful in making our stay delightful. There is not a better person for this job, he is very friendly & caring.

We would love to come back again.

What a lovely, warm, sun-filled week we have enjoyed here. The condo is very comfortable, and the views from the shower, bedroom and balcony are inspiring.
Carlos took great care of us and was a great help. The grounds and pool area are kept beautifully by Jose Luis, and the night guardsmen is very friendly.

We enjoyed many restaurants!

For Breakfast, our favorites include:
Mama´s Bakery - great fresh fruit, baked items, and Mexican breakfast food;
Rosie´s Juice Bar -great fresh fruit drinks and Mexican breakfast;
Pelicanos - where you can sit outside on the beach while enjoy your breakfast.

For Dinner, we enjoyed:
Triny's - great Mexican food, very reasonably priced;
John Gray´s - very expensive, but lovely for Valentine´s Day;
David Lau´s - great salads, and the Chinese food is pretty good. but the pizza looked better;
Terratza - geat salads, good food from an interesting menu, and a good place to people watch;
Uruguay - good empanadas and steaks;
Taquitos - OK, but we didn´t like the atmosphere as much, however you can write on their wall with magic marker - Kind of fun!

Some of our Favorite Activities / Trips included:
Coba - we rented a car, drove out to the Mayan Ruins and climbed a pyramid - scary but fun!
The Grand Cenote - we snorkeled in the clear blue waters of a fresh water cenote - the fish and the cave rocks were fascinating.
A Snorkel Trip to the reefs right off at the main fishing pier in Puerto Morelos; well worth the money! Lots of coral and fish.
The Sunday Jungle Market - an interesting cultural experience.
The walk with Ann - we met her at Rosie´s; she takes you across the highway to see how the people live over there. Lots of neat stores and food to taste.
Playa del Carmen - like South Beach in Mexico.

Puerto Morelos is a wonderful place to visit!

What a nice way to spend my 50th birthday! It was a shame we could only get away for the weekend; we have a couple of teenagers at home!

The condo is beautiful - especially the views! We have been to the area numerous times, but this is the first time we stayed in Puerto Morelos. It is a wonderful, quiet town, and someplace we would come back to again.

Carlos and the rest of the staff were hospitable. Carlos made sure all of our needs met - a really nice man!

Well, back to Chicago and hopefully not much more snow!
Thanks!

Having left a miserable New York winter where the snow hasn't stopped, its such a heart and body warming experience to arrive in the quaint little town of Puerto Morelos - 20 minutes from the airport to the beach. which is where this beautiful condo is - on the beach, 50 ft from the ocean, and of course there is the beautiful infinity pool and jacuzzi outside the door.

The amenities are first class: everything nesscesary to make the holiday wonderful, and those sliding doors make it seem like you´re sleeping outdoors in the evening, with the sound of the waves and palms literally feet away, yet totally private!!

Oh, I nearly forgot about my 16 month old son who thinks he´s in heaven, and while we´re talking about people - everyone has been brilliant: from CARLOS who takes care of ALL the details, bar none, and his staff whose names I dont know yet. That night security guy who always smiles and seems everywhere, and Jose Luis who keeps that pool fit for the olympics swims 200 ft.

Everybody was special and the town couldn't be better, we feel like we belong here.
Thanks to everyone.

What a view! Perfect to wake up to.

We had a great time in the condo. The kids were up early every morning so we were on the beach early. It was like having your own private beach. Shame the pool was cold because they were working on some stuff, but the hot tub did the trick too.

We had a few outings to Isla Mujeres, Ceococun, Botanical Gardens (should have read the notes on previous page because we did not see any monkeys, but the bridge was quite exciting....) and Akumal, which has a beautiful beach, but there really is no town. That´s what we loved about Puerto Morelos; nice town square, great atmosphere and really good restaurants.

The condo is perfect for our family of 4 and we would happy come back again. Thanks to David for renting it out, Carlos for being available and giving us great info, snd Jose Luis for keeping it all looking beautiful.

Thanks so much! Too bad the last day has arrived...

Wow! Where do we begin? We had an amazing two week vacation filled with many activities and adventures. We enjoyed the local people, good food, snorkeling, fun in the sun, and of course, relaxation.
The condo was excellent. Lots of room for the 6 of us. We loved the pool and the tub, relaxing on the hammock and sitting outside. Very quiet location.
The condo was very clean & filled with everything for a confortable 2 week stay. Being ocean front was such a special treat, we were lulled to sleep by the surf... so relaxing.
Puerto Morelos is a great little town... everything you need is here. Locals are very friendly, and the town is very safe. The location is a perfect home base for exploring the area.
Carlos was very helpful; always has a smile on his face, and was readily available.
The only downside is having to leave today (drawing of sad face) We have many great memories & photos of our time here.

We enjoyed this lovely and spacious condo which overlooks the beautiful Caribbean Sea. This area of Puerto Morelos is not yet built up with any other complexes or hotels (it's on the south side of the Port & the town) and since we were looking for something a bit quieter than our usual Mexico vacations, this was it! The best part of this location is that there are NO beach vendors, NO high-pressure adventure salesmen, NO hordes of other vacationers and NO boisterous late-night party noise. The soft powdery beach is secluded, and we were oftentimes the only ones there, sitting under the payapas, reading, with the surf just feet from...well, our feet! The pool and jacuzzi were favorites of our teenage daughters, and the pool area is perfectly clean and fabulously maintained. The loungers around the pool are comfy too!

The condo was impeccably clean, superbly decorated and comfortable. The kitchen is very spacious and provides most everything you will need right down to the small appliances (I am a morning fruit-smoothie-lover, so the blender was much appreciated!) A favorite feature of the condo was the Hammock. Take a pillow out & take a nap! Also, a really nice breeze blows through the condo when you open the doors so you won't want to run the AC much. The sound of the waves is better! One BIG recommendation: we wished we would have taken the Owner's advice and opted to have Carlos (agent & all-around Great Guy!) stock the kitchen with foodstuffs before our arrival. The small town has a limited grocery, so you may not find exactly what you need, and you'll spend valuable vacation time searching for stores and/or desired items. Our suggestion: Just Let Carlos Do It! He'll get whatever you request so you can get on with the business of relaxing. His Customer Service is Five-Star!!!

The Town is about a 10 minute walk away, north of the port. If you opt not to rent a car, and prefer not to walk, a taxi is there in less than 3 minutes after you call (really!) and costs about $3-4 USD with tip. We used the taxis nearly every day. It was a great option for going to dinner & shopping. The town itself is charming! The locals we met were all friendly & helpful. The restaurants we tried were all good, our favorites being: John Gray's Kitchen, El Faro, Caktuz, Pepe Ole's, and Pelicanos (great breakfast on the beach!). Snorkeling & fishing trips are available right there in town too.

A relaxing, quiet, slow-paced vacation in a gorgeous location! :-)
