| We LOVED Vieques and Casa de la Rusa in particular. The house is so comfortable and well-appointed. The owners have obviously taken great care, with much attention to detail, to make the house a haven for your time at Vieques. Unique artwork and handsome furnishings give the feel of a five star hotel. The breezy front porch offers views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Island of Culebra. There is also a hammock that is perfect for afternoon napping. I loved the hammock! The kitchen is updated and well-equipped. The house also has an excellent stero system with an incredible selection of music. This place is just great. Vieques itself is tremendous - the beaches are prisitne and empty, scuba diving and snorkelling is fantastic. And the Bio Bay is an experience unlike any you'll have elsewhere. I highly recommend Casa de la Rusa. |

Casa de la Rusa was a great "home" to begin our visit on Vieques. It is beautifully furnished, with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. There were 6 of us and we had lots of room to relax. We enjoyed the porch and ate most of our meals there. We were glad that the caretaker met us at the airport, as it is a little tricky to find. |

We've been coming to Vieques for a number of years - the island beaches are what keeps us returning. Casa de la Rusa is a very comfortable home with a beautiful view and great location. We went with friends and there was room for everyone to be together and for privacy as well. Thank you for your lovely home! |

We spent a wonderful week on Vieques in February, 2007, renting this marvelous 3-bedroom, 3-bath house near the north coastal town of Isabel Secunda. The house was large for the two of us, and was fully equipped with tile floors throughout--first island house we have ever rented that included a washer and drier! This enabled us to pack minimally, and was a great convenience. The view from near a hilltop was nice, and for those who have an aversion to rooster crowing, it might seem a little difficult in the mornings (but that would be true for most of the island), Casa de la Rusa would be ideal for three couples or a large family. In extensive travels, there are very few places to which we would return, but Vieques and Casa de la Rusa are certainly on that list!
Our comments on the island are posted in TripAdvisor under the discussion section with a February 24, 2007 date, since they do not yet have a place for comments in individual homes. |

We had a great time in Vieques in January of 2006 - beautiful weather all the way, fantastic warm tropical waters, beautiful scenery, and a wonderful stay at the Casa de la Rusa. One day we were sitting on the porch enjoying the late afternoon when we heard barking from the driveway - a minute later, a dog chased a horse into the backyard of the house! They looked more like they were playing than anything else - the horse left an hour or so afterwards. Thanks for letting us stay in this gorgeous location - we really enjoyed ourselves.

| We had a great week in Vieques in March, 2006. Vieques is one of the last hidden jewels in the Caribbean (shush, don't tell anyone!!) The house is as advertized-- very clean, new appliances in a beautiful setting with some wonderful local dogs who will make friends with you for the week. John and Vera were easy to work with and quite prompt with returning the deposit. We will definitely come back to the Island and Casa de la Rusa. |

My wife and I recently were maried in Vieques and we rented 6 villas on the island and some rooms at the Martineau Bay Resort. The Ruser's place was fabulous! Of the Villas their's was the nicest and the best priced. We had a great time and plan to go back. The house was beautiful and everything you could expect. The island was super and the beaches are breath taking! We can't wait to get back. We were both so lucky to have found Casa Dela Rusa!

Vera and John, The four of us had a great stay in your beautiful home. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, the porch was perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks, and the hammock, as well as the choice of CDs, made it hard to leave for the beach. (We did fit in plenty of swimming, snorkeling, and exploring.) Although it was hot while we were there, the elevation of the house invited lovely night time breezes so that we never needed the air conditioner. A perfect lazy vacation- thank you. Dear John and Vera, Thank you for being so prompt with the security deposit. We received it on Friday. We just want to let you know what a wonderful time we had on Vieques and specifically in your villa. It was so clean and nice. We enjoyed meeting the neighbors and felt so much at home. Paul and I hope to buy some property in the islands someday for retirement and we fell in love with Vieques and your villa. If you ever decide to sell let us know! In the meantime we will enjoy renting from you. We are already thinking about when we can go back next year.
Thanks again,

Thanks for sharing your lovely house on Vieques. It was beautiful, furnished very nicely and comfortable. Denise met us and delivered us to the house. We loved the horses grazing in the yard, chickens and the visiting dog. And the view!!
I guess we had unusually high temps for end of September so were grateful for the air conditioning.

Hi John!
We returned late last night and we were so sad to leave! Thank you so much for everything. We loved our stay in your lovely home and hope to get back down there again soon. You've done a great job with the place and the neighborhood looks like it's developing nicely. Please also give our regards to Chevo [the property manager] ..he was great too.
