Our family of six: husband, wife and four boys (16, 14, 12, and 5) stayed at this apartment for seven nights at the beginning of October 2009. I would rent the apartment again in a heartbeat. It is an extremely good value: to put six people in a hotel of comparable lodging and location would have cost us at least three times the amount, more like four times. Very family-friendly, and in a superb location that is also very quiet. The owners, Signore and Signora Neri are charming and very welcoming and helpful. We have pretty good familiarity with Rome, but if you do not, Giovanni is an excellent source for practical advice for sightseeing, grocery shopping, transportation, etc. He even arranged a car service for us for a ride for six to Civitavecchia for much less than I was able to arrange from the United States. Giovanni will pick you up at the airport for a very reasonable fare. At the end of a transatlantic flight, the last thing you want to do is fuss with the train. The kitchen has every utensil you could need to to cook lunch and dinner. We even hosted a dinner party on our last night with four additional guests. The beds are comfortable, and there is plenty of hot water and good water pressure augmented by a pump. The TVs work fine, though we hardly used them. There are plenty of hangers in the closets. The grocer right below is very friendly, and there is a young man there with excellent English. It is a real neighborhood grocery: for example, if you do not want a giant bag of lettuce, they will open it up and give you only what you want. And they will stop you from making bad mistakes like buying decaf coffee because you are not paying attention to Italian labels! There are two larger grocers (Despar) one in the Jewish Ghetto and one in Largo Argentina. The latter is a little farther away but is a better store. There is an excellent place to get chickens off the Campo de Fiore, and of course the Campo is excellent for produce. The cafe below the apartment is a good local place (cheaper if you use counter service). This apartment is in a location that is a very easy walk to everything you want to see in the Centro Storico. A short bus ride from Piazza della Boca Verita gets you to the Holy See or within an easy walk of the Piazza de Spagna or the Fontana Trevi. Rome public transportation is not difficult to master and Giovanni even has a map in the apartment of all the bus routes. The apartment is a very short walk to San Giorgio al Velabro one of Rome's loveliest churches and a good place for daily Mass, and with a short walk across the bridge, you are in Trastevere. We had a magnificent stay in Rome and this apartment was very much a part of our delightful time. I very much recommend it! I am happy to be contacted through the owner of you have more questions. Since there were six of us I was trying to be as economical as possible for our Rome accommodations. I struck gold last summer when I found an apartment for us to stay in for only 170 euro/night. I booked it through a vacation rental by owner website and it was wonderful. Another mom mentioned that she had done this for her trip on her trip report and she gave me the idea. Our place had 3 bedrooms- 2 twins in one room and 2 in another and the 3rd room with a king bed. It had a kitchen, one bathroom, LR, washer and it included linens, electric, final cleaning etc. I can't recommend it enough. It had wonderfully functioning air conditioning that was great because our 80-degree temps in Florence were much higher in Rome. One day it was 35 Celsius...The apartment also had lots of water pressure and lots of hot water :) We were one block from the Forum and it was peacefully quiet at night. A bus stop and market were nearby and you could walk to many of the sites. The owner's name is Giovanni Neri and the place is called Terry's House. Giovanni met us when we arrived and helped give us our bearings, local info. etc. We walked to the supermercato "Despar" and went grocery shopping- the kids thought this was terrific! Next we went to show them the Pantheon and had dinner at a great place called Osteria de Mario (in Rick Steves book). We then walked to P. Navona and my children had a blast watching the locals try to sell us a "real" Rolex watch. Got gelato at the famous Tre Scalini in the Piazza- it was outstanding. They are known for their "death by chocolate" flavor and I can see why- it was great!

Dear Giovanni,
Our stay at your apartment in July was wonderful! The location is perfect, allowing us to walk everywhere easily and the atmosphere around the apartment was charming and very quiet.
We were sad to leave, and hope that we will be able to return to Rome again and stay at your apartment.
Thank you again for all of your help,

Dear Giovanni hope you and your wife had a good holiday. We had a fantastic time, the apartment and location is amazing. Since we got back the weather here has been absolutely appalling, Rome seems like a dream already. Wishing you all the very best and hoping that we will be able to return in the near future. Thank you again.

Thank you Giovanni for such a wonderful place to stay. You were so helpful showing us the markets, bus stops and helping us on the first day. My husband and I stayed at Terry's House for 5 nights here with our four children (ages 9-15). We all loved the apartment. GREAT location, bus stop nearby, SO quiet at night, lots of hot water, washing machine- we would definitely stay here again. The air conditioning was wonderful since the temps were unusually warm when we were in Rome. A great place to stay and so much better than having two hotel rooms! Grazie Giovanni! |

| So if you're looking for a designer apartment, this is not it! Apart from that it is perfect - great location, literally right next to the Roman Forum, shops and restaurants on your doorstep, close to buses etc, etc. Very clean and although really central was very quiet. Enzo, who picked us up at the airport (as arranged by owner for a really excellent price)was such a helpful gentleman. Great base for a stay in Rome! |

| We rented (myself, and 3 ladies - aged 80, 79, 72) Terry House for Christmas 2006. The location is incredible and the apartment is very clean and comfortable and well stocked with linens and dishes. I felt like I was doing a house exchange! The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to any concerns or questions. There is everything you need right on the street and the only problem was that it was up 2 floor and we had older people. I can't wait to return! Highly recommended! |

Hello Gionny. We just got home. We enjoyed our stay in Rome very much. Your apartment worked very well for us and its location is great, close to all the places. We went to Florence, Venice, Milan, Paris and southern England afterwords.
Rome was definitely one of our favorites and we all wished we had more time to spend there. Hopefully one day we will be back and if you're still renting your apartment, we'll be calling you.
Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Dear Gionny--
Now that we are settled back into life here in New York City, I just wanted to thank you (and Emmanuela and Sra. Neri) for our wonderful 4 days in Rome.
I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We had such a great time. Thank you.
In fact, we had such a good time that I would like to come back and stay there again. I was thinking about coming between Christmas and New Year's, but I noticed on your calendar that it's already booked.
So maybe I will come in February or March instead. Please let me know if you would be willing to rent to me again.
Anyway, thank you again.
Kindest regards, Daryl Kovalich

Dear Gionny, I think I neglected to thank you again for our wonderful stay in Rome last month. We had a wonderful time, and just wanted to say thanks. The apartment was perfect, and ideally located.
I am giving your e-mail address to friends who may want to visit Rome at the end of August.
Very best regards, Shoshana

Buon giorno Gionny We are back in Vancouver and I wanted to thank you again for the use of your flat. Everything worked beautifully and it suited us perfectly. We came to really love our wonderful neighbourhood. We will recommend it to all our friends. We left a few things that I hope you and your wife can use up: two small pieces of cheese in the fridge and a little pasta, olive oil and garlic in the cupboard. Thanks again for all your help.
