| The Artist’s Cottage in Antigonish proved to be the perfect base for our intimate destination wedding last August. I can safely say that we are speaking for all of our friends and family from the UK, US, France, Holland and Curacao who were fortunate enough to spend time at the beautiful waterfront location! The house offered peace, tranquility and fostered a close communal atmosphere through its warm character and detailed personal touches. We checked all the houses in the Antigonish area, but the owner’s professionalism and extra efforts to guarantee our wedding week was a success really stood out. She ensured our privacy and accommodated for our international friends and family who have since fallen in love with Nova Scotia! Our friends from Paris enjoyed the setting so much they even stayed an extra night and are thinking of returning sooner rather than later. The owner even ensured that we would have our own honeymoon suite with a bottle of champagne at one of her additional properties! Maybe we should get married again! The guests continually commented on the comfy beds, the incredible artwork and the gorgeous waterfront setting where they could use kayaks and canoes to witness the delightful Nova Scotian sunset. The Europeans especially enjoyed the wide open spaces in the garden where they could kick a football around. That is, when they were not experimenting with the very friendly outhouse, walking on the beach, sunbathing on the deck or going for a hike nearby! We all cherish the wonderful memories that we took from that unforgettable week and cannot thank you enough for all you did for all of us! We certainly look forward to returning!! |
