Staying at Windgarth is a true escape from reality! The lake is so peaceful and soul-soothing. The location is superb -- only 20 minutes or so from Ithaca (if you're looking for a little bit of "noise") and up and down the road from numerous wineries (in case they're not close enough, there's one across the street!). The house is well-equipped and extremely comfortable. I think I left a piece of myself at Windgarth -- oh, dear, I will just have to go back again to retrieve it!

the week we spent at windgarth was sweet and as close to idyllic as it gets! the house is comfortable and well equipped, the grounds and gardens, beautiful, the lake, magnificent, and the sunrises and moonrises spectacular!
the small communuity of sheldrake is quiet and lovely, affording long walks in pleasant surroundings. and to have a vineyard with a great restaurant directly across the street was an added bonus, for those nights when one just didn't want to cook.

I visited once in the winter and once in the summer. It was a great get away treat that I would like to do again in any season!
