We stayed in the upper flat during our Christmas
holiday visit with our children and new grandchild.
Our visit was made extra special because of the
comfortable and welcoming accommodations. The
warm sun streaming through the many windows,
the wonderful character of each room that has been
maintained in the remodeling, all the modern
conveniences and extra touches in the bathroom
and kitchen, not to mention the truly comfortable
beds--all contributed to our wonderful stay at the
flat. In addition, the holiday treats on the table, the
soft music and lights that were on to greet us upon
our arrival provided such a warm welcome, making
us immediately feel right at home. Without
question, we would choose to stay here again on
our next visit. |

I just wanted to tell you what a lovely time we had in your flat. The location was perfect for visiting our daughter, we could walk to her house.
Unfortunately I became ill and had to spend more time in bed than I would have liked...fortunately, however, I had lovely surroundings to recuperate in!
We were delighted by the yard and especially enjoyed the visiting parrots. We had only the week before watched the documentary about the Parrots of Telegraph Hill...what a surprise!
Your home has been beautifully restored and every amenity was thoughtfully supplied. It's not often that an offer lives up to it's expectations...your house exceeded them.
Thank you for delighting us, our only regret is that we never met!

What a delightful home, full of light, wonderful views
from the upstairs flat, all the amenities one could wish
for. Just bring your toothbrush! Close to everything. A
great park nearby for your dog. The owners couldn't
be more helpful or accommodating. |

A friend and I shared the upper flat for a short stay in October. We were immediately smitten--the appointments, modern though suitable to the era of the home, are charming! The rooms are light and airy, with comfortable furniture and decor(sometimes sorely lacking in rentals) and we felt very much at home. It would be hard not to have a sunny mood in this flat!
The walk to 4th Street dining was enjoyable and we were happy to find several good meals there.
The house is perfectly situated to getting around the whole East Bay area quickly. We both agreed we'd certainly return to this rental. A very good value.

| We all loved the Mitchell flat! It was so cheerful, with its high ceilings and light filled rooms, that it made us feel positively GOOD to be inside. The rooms were decorated in the best of taste and Pear and Brad had thought of so many little things to make our stay even better. Can't wait to return!. |

| We had a wonderful stay here while preparing for and attending our son's wedding. The flat was comfortable and welcoming and met all our needs. Our son lived close by also which was convenient. I also love the 4th St. area so it was great to be in walking distance. I would recommend this flat highly. |

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Mitchell House! It is a beautiful house with spectacular windows and furnishings. We were very comfortable staying there. We appreciated the organic fruit bowl when we arrived!

| We absolutely loved staying at the Mitchell House. Pear and Brad could not have been more hospitable. We felt like we were staying with friends and not a rental. They thought of every detail. We were with our two daughters and our older one loved the yard and sandbox and we enjoyed sitting outside with her. We rarely wanted to leave. Beautifully remodeled with everything you need provided. It was a bargain considering everything that was included. If you are visiting Berkeley this is the place to stay! |

We lived in the Bay area from 1995-2005, so we are very familiar with its ins and outs. THIS is the place we were looking for.
This is one of the coolest neighborhoods in the Bay - walking distance to 4th street shopping, cafes, etc. (Betty's diner!) but not so bound up in the university area (a mile away) that you can't find parking.
The house was AWESOME. Newly refurbished, it was the big things we first noticed - the wonderful Victorian space with the huge windows and private deck over amazing garden; the two spacious rooms. then the little things: the high quality stuff in the kitchen and bathroom, the great TV and cable service, the comfy furniture; the "feel" of the place.
This was one of the best rental homes we've ever stayed in, from a sheer quality-of-experience perspective. Location, atmosphere, comfort, etc.
One last note - the hosts were very kind, and let us use the back garden for a small graduation gathering, which I feel was over the top, and very much appreciated. We'll try to come back again, next time.

| Our stay at Mitchell House was great. It was truly a home away from home. It was well stocked with any supplies a person might need. It sits in a terrific location, close to beautiful shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again. I just spent a month in the Mitchell House in Berkeley,
CA. The space was perfect. The details are thorough
and thoughtful. The owners were most congenial. I

| Our relatives from Europe recently came to visit us for the holidays and had a wonderful 2 week stay at the Mitchell House. Everything about it was perfect -- especially the location near 4th Street, the newly renovated rooms, and the attention to detail given by the owners. Our family members really felt that they were staying in an extension of our own home -- a world away from an impersonal hotel accomodation, and so much more comfortable and affordable with the kitchen and living spaces. The view from the upper deck is also beautiful and the space is cheerful and sunny, even in December. Our relatives look forward to returning and we're so glad to have such an exceptional place to recommend to them when they visit Berkeley! |
