| We stayed here for three nights. We found the location to be excellent--very close to Times Square, as well as the subway and buses. Ally, our landlady, was helpful and not pushy. The studio is small, but not too small. There were 3 of us and the inflatable bed worked just fine (for person #3). The kitchen facilities were very adequate. Stores are nearby for milk and other food. Coffee maker was nice touch. It had a paperless filter--so just bring the coffee. Cutlery, dishes, pots and pans available. Dish drain for after washing dishes, but cost includes cleaning fee, so you don't have to wash everything before you leave. Bathroom was fine (private). Closet was fairly big. Place has a doorman at all times (everytime we came in and out.) Our window looked out on the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel where all the buses come and go. It was not very noisy though. There is a window air conditioning unit that not only cooled us but provided white noise. There were pigeons on the window sill, but they didn't make any noise or smell. There was no "neighbor" noise--quiet that way. If you want towels, you have to ask for them. I think it would be nice if they just came with the place. How many people are going to pack towels when they go traveling? We came into town with a rental car and parked a couple of blocks away in a garage which we left during our 3-night stay. The cost was $120. I would recommend checking out the convention center parking nearby or researching parking garages, if you want a better deal. But I think that for Manhattan, $120 really isn't that bad. This place was a great value which I would recommend, not only to save $, but to get a feel for how many New Yorkers live. Plus it's near the action! |

We stayed at this apartment 1st to 8th May 2009. It was clean and tidy, everything you could want was there, the biggest plus was how near to everything you were! Literally a block away from the Port Authority terminal meaning we got the bus from the airport and could walk with our suitcases saving big money on taxis! 9th Avenue, one block up, has loads of restaurants including a diner for cheap excellent food! Times Square was a five minute walk. Excellent location....
The bed was comfortable, tv, internet etc all great. The only down side was the balcony attracted all the pigeons of New York! It also overlooked the main route for the buses going into Port Authority but with the door shut, it was ok.
Overall, excellent value for money and I would recommend this property. |
