I loved many things about it, but won’t forget rolling over in bed and looking over what seemed like the edge of a high cliff with that gorgeous view. I must have slept 10 hours—wonderful! Thank you for the opportunity to stay in such a lovely setting: birds (hooded oriole, scrub jay, hummingbirds too many to count), fresh clean air, and peacefulness. We loved the guesthouse and were very impressed with the tea selection, but couldn't figure out why it was in the bathroom...oh wait...oooh...I see!!! Anyway, the decor was fabulous and most interesting -- we loved it and the attention to detail that is fun and at times unusual and different. We can't wait to come back -- can't think of any place we would rather stay, even if it means we have to get "healthy" along the way! Hugs to you both and thanks again!

We had a wonderful time and we love your guesthouse. It's a great place to stay, even with 75 steps. The hummingbirds were incredible. We could watch them for hours. Your suggestions to eat at Cafe Roka and Bella Roma Pizza were right on. Roma Pizza has some of the best pizza we've ever tasted. Roka was perfect and the food wonderful. We fell in love with Bisbee and we'll be back to stay longer.

hospitality. Perched on an amazing precipice
overlooking Brewery Gulch and beyond, you have an
eagle eye's view of town.
Inside there is cozy comfort not often found in a
hundred year old miner's cabin, but is ever present
at the Double Jack.
The gardens and outside terraces offer an amazing
amount of privacy with views that take your breath

Impossible to write a review without excess superlatives bordering on hype, but this place truly has it ALL! Outstanding value for the money, best decor of any place we've yet stayed, fabulous views, beauty/peace/serenity, perfect hosts -- and the best birding in southern Arizona is right here on the property!! We went to the San Pedro Riparian area, Ramsey Canyon, all the hot spots -- but the most abundant and interesting display by far was right here at the feeders by the windows -- and no binoculars required!! This place, every detail, is beyond wonderful. And the condom selection (a la tea offerings in a fine restaurant) was the final crowning quirky touch! Thanks for putting so much thought into this enterprise. We will see you again sometime!

Well, we followed my sister's advice (see 1/2/09 comments) and came to the Doublejack and Bisbee for vacation. When we told friends where we were going for vacation, the usual response was "where?" or "why?." Now we can carry back word to Juneau (a place not too unlike Bisbee -- an old mining town, lots of stairs and hills -- but the weather in Bisbee is MUCH nicer!) of what a fantastic time we had in this area -- so much to do -- hiking in the Chiricauhua's (a must!), the San Pedro River, birdwatching, walking around Bisbee, the Farmer's Market, antique shopping, Tombstone, dancing to kareokee, good eats -- but surely the tops is the coffee or cocktails on the deck at the Doublejack, which now ties our #1 favorite place we have stayed. This place is perfection and we don't want to leave. The work you have done here and your decisions to take new "career" paths are inspirational.

We left Tucson today in the hope that we could find a possible or semi-decent respite from our highly overstressed city lives. Living in Tucson for 4 years, we knew of Bisbee, but simply never got around to coming here. Funny to think of now, since this charming city/villa has so quickly felt like home -- and it is all thanks to you!
In the visitor's center lodging brochure, the words, "claw-foot bathtub" widened my eyes, but the generosity of Bob's greeting and the splendor of this memorable and love-filled guesthouse were what opened our hearts.
There is nowhere else we'd rather stay in Bisbee than the Doublejack. Our appreciation is greater than these words allow -- we will miss this joyous respite, but shall surely visit with you again soon.

The Doublejack has been a delightful experience for our month in Arizona. Bob and Jeff couldn't have been more accommodating and we really enjoyed meeting and getting to know them.
The guesthouse worked well for our purposes -- in addition to exploring Bisbee and the area, Ken worked via computer (WIFI and modem) here.
Quirky Bisbee -- with all its stairs, art, history, helpful and interesting folks, great coffee, and good food -- was great fun.
As birders, we appreciated Arizona. Whitewater Draw's cranes, raptors in the Sulphur Springs Valley, San Pedro's sparrows and more, the birds of the Huachuca Canyons and beyond. We found nearly 20 species of birds we'd never seen before, though the Elegant Trogon still eludes us. We'll have to return!
