The days flew by!!! Our family had such a wonderful time. We were a little nervous because we brought a friend of my daughter with us and we really wanted her / them to have a great time. Well ... everything was perfect! The location of your house, the sunrise, the sunset, the bike rides, the deer, the shopping ... oh, and the dolphins! AMAZING!! I can not believe how much we did in four days! Definately a family (and friend) favorite. We can't wait to go back!!

This was our first trip to Kiawah Island. We loved the fact that this cottage is in a gated community. It was perfect for our family. (more private and much better than a condo where you hear noise from adjoining units). This cottage was surprisely larger than we expected. The online photos are nice but it's really much prettier in person.
You can tell that the owners take a lot of pride in this property. They have provided all the comforts of home - big soft towels, comfortable beds, a variety of pillows (so if you like firm, soft, etc) a full-sized washer & dryer, a variety of family-friendly videos and books for indoor times, even a small cooler to borrow for a beach picnic.
The amenities at this resort are awesome! The beaches were uncrowded, with wide firm areas for riding bikes, but soft enough for walking barefoot. The last beach we visited was Bethany Beach, Delaware. That beach seemed to have a lot of broken up shells and small rocks which were not comfortable... Our boys commented on how great it felt to walk barefoot into the water at Kiawah because the beaches are so smooth and clean.
Something for everyone - six golf courses (be sure and visit the Osprey Clubhouse and the breath-taking Ocean Course even if you don't play golf); tennis; beautiful pools; a nature center where the boys watched the staff feed snakes and aligators; plus the many bike paths for exploring the entire island. (Our rental bikes were conveniently at the cottage when we arrived.)
We were very lucky to be here over the 4th of July. The fireworks on the beach were incredible, with a large full moon in the background and a gentle breeze blowing against our face as we sat in our beach chairs.
There is much to do in the Charleston area, too. We took the boys to Ft. Sumter (where the Civil War began) and the USS Yorktown (aircraft carrier). Not only a fun experience, but very educational as well.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND renting this cottage when heading to Kiawah Island. If you're like us, you will be wanting to go back for more than a week next time! |

What a lovely place to relax and feel at home. Absolutely everything you need is there. The cottage is bright and is only a walk from the beautiful beach. The beach is very private and picturesque. Be sure to take advantage of the bike trails so you can truly get a feel for Kiawah and see all the beautiful trees and homes. You are only a short jaunt from Charleston, an excellent place for sight seeing and eating.

This is a great cottage for a family! Plenty of room for a family of 5-6. Great access to bike paths and also to the beautiful beach and market. Cottage is on a quiet cul-de-sac and is decorated so cute with everything you need! Kiawah Island has loads of great activities for kids. We recommend bike riding to The Sanctuary Hotel for lunch or dinner and taking advantage of the events in Night Heron Park. Enjoy!

This is a wonderful, sunny, relaxing beach cottage fully equipped for an easy vacation week. I loved the hammock on the deck - a great place to sip a cool drink and read a good book. It is an easy walk to the beach where we found many different varieties of shells. We also enjoyed the shopping at Fresh Fields. I can't wait to return to Kiawah!
