"Thank you for the opportunity to stay in Mika Mizu! It truly was the PERFECT place for us to celebrate our '2nd honeymoon'. The photos you used to advertise this cottge were accurate. However, nothing can compare to seeing & experiencing this place in person. The secluded road, lush surroundings, romantic atmosphere, perfect size of the cottage, the tasteful furniture/decor, the surprise welcome treats, even the lighting & faucet fixtures...all were admired/appreciated & added to our enjoyment. You have truly thought of little extras...first aid kit, sewing kit, ice chest...that helped to make our stay worry-free. Reed's Island is located close to many of the attractions we visited in Hilo. We hope to be able to experience Mika Mizu - a piece of paradise - again in the future. Thanks again."

We did a lot of sightseeing around the whole island and it was always a pleasure knowing we had a beautiful and comfortable home away from home waiting for us on our return. "It was the best place we could have stayed: In the jungle! coming from an island of No Trees, we love the sounds of creatures in the night...We got to spend much time & enjoying this beautiful house: cooking, reading & listening birds trees, green & blue skies: this is a very happy place...Today was our last day here in Hawaii, time to return to Dutch Harbor, AK, Aleutian Island 800 miles in the Bering Sea, where the temp today was 48 degrees...Next time we visit the island we will again stay here...It was a joy to stay here. Mahalo."

"We LOVED this place! It truly is a special place in tropical paradise. And the house was perfect. Though we weren't successful in getting tickets to the Merrie Monarch festival, we enjoyed all the free events and festival atmosphere in town. Each time we visit the Big Island we try to do something new. This time we toured the Hawaiian Vanilla Company plantation & had a wonderful lunch there. It's the only vanilla grower in the U.S. and the experience was interesting & tasty. They are in Pa'auilo - in Hamakua. We also stayed in Puako on the west side for part of our trip. Also a great location, but nothing like THIS place - that's for sure! Can't wait to come back!"

"Well, your ad did not mislead at all, what a fabulous vacation rental at an excellent price. As I write this, one of the many frequent rain showers fall upon the tin roof and this was probably the most memorable aspects of our stay. The sound along with the sounds of the night lulled me to sleep. As for the amenities, first class all the way. We had everything we wanted and needed. Historic downtown Hilo is wonderful and friendly with many unique shops. And you simply must go and watch the lava flowing into the ocean: Not to be missed! Anyway, every trip comes to an end and this house gave us the perfect ending to ours. Mahalo!"

"What a terrific job you have done designing and furnishing this little place in paradise! It was a terrific base for us to strike out and explore all the wonders of eastern Hawaii...Hilo is a great town that still retains some of that old Hawaii feel, and it was fun to explore it too. The setting of the cottage is so special, I almost feel sorry for those who think of only the large artificial resorts as the Big Island. This was a perfect place for us, and I have already told another friend about it who will, I'm sure, be visiting soon. Thanks for all the extra touches. It was a pleasure to meet you both."

"I wanted to let you know what a 'Wonderful' experience we had at Mika Mizu. It was so pleasant to spend time at your place. It was very welcoming when we turned the lights on after a very long plane flight. It was decorated beautifully. The best part was all the amenities. The fact that there was a welcome basket sitting on the table. The fact that we could get up in the morning with a ability to make a cup of coffee and enjoy the view of the stream and vegetation. The fact that you had all the books with maps of the Hilo area made our travel around the town very easy...I wanted to personally thank you for providing us with such a wonderful place to enjoy our vacation.
