| We came down in Feb and planned on as much golf as possible but with the temp in the low 40's we passed. Instead we spent our time with a glass of wine in the hot tub or roasting dogs over the fire. Both had an incredible view of the mountains. We watched old movies on the huge flat screen(again by the fire). We jumped on the wifi looked up public trans and went green easily taking the bus downtown for a romantic dinner. It was the perfect Valentine's. We plan to return to the house again this coming Feb except this time we have no plans for golf..... |

When I dream of a getaway house, I dream of this one. It's simply gorgeous. Driving up to the house, the architecture and landscaping was just as described and so pretty - but doesn't even compare to the backyard!
The pool, spa, firepit and outdoor furniture certainly got used on our girls' weekend escape. It's perfectly set up for a group of friends or family looking to have some fun in the desert sun!
The yard was bigger than I expected with the firepit, pool and spa in one area and a grassy area big enough for impromptu yoga sessions.
The covered patio area was great to have snacks out (we got hungry after the yoga and hours spent frolicking in the pool) and was shaded for when we needed a break from the sun.
The interior of the house can't be beat either. VERY nicely furnished and decorated with every possible amenity!!! There are flat screen TVs in EVERY room (there was no fighting over what to watch, that's for sure!). Wireless internet access reaches throughout the house and the Wii provided hours of entertainment on our night in. The kitchen is also stocked with everything you could possibly imagine including the Tassimo machine AND conventional espresso machine. There is even an electric juicer for the fresh lemons and grapefruits that grow just outside the kitchen patio door!
A weekend stay was definitely not enough! Especially since the owners have put together a FANTASTIC guest book that gives you ideas for activities, tourist attractions, food, food and more food! It's like having a personal concierge for Palm Springs. We thought the complete guest book with recommendations was a great touch and completely in-character for the owners.
They were fantastically responsive and their instructions on how to get to the house and make the most of our stay was spot on!
They made staying at the house really easy and extremely enjoyable.
Definitely a house I will revisit as soon as I can!

We loved everything about this beautiful Alexander Butterfly home!
The decor was in keeping with the era and integrity of the house and oh-so comfortable. The patio was private, peaceful and had a soft grassy area -- perfect for a pet or child to play upon. The pool and hot tub had views of the mountains, palms and humming birds. And the fire pit gave off a lot of heat for the chilly Easter evening.
We were also impressed with the well-stocked kitchen. The cappucino maker was a big hit. And the BBQ outside grilled our steaks beautifully.
The neighborhood is quiet and great for kids -- we saw a few people taking evening strolls and only encountered one car.
Overall, I have only positive things to say! The owner was prompt and friendly in all of our communications. This will be our go-to house in Palm Springs. I can't wait to return. |
