Since we have a looong distance relationship and don't get to spend a lot of time together . . . this has been so great for us!!! We enjoyed sitting by the fire, the Jacuzzi, walking and drinking wine . . . and talking about our future! Another great memory we will never forget! Thank you!

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your lovely apartment. Sasha, Scott, and I had a wonderful time. Our dog, Sasha, especially liked hiking though Buttermilk Falls. I have missed the Farmer's Market for the years since I have left Ithaca. It was perfect being able to bring home our purchases and make a delicious meal of it. Thank you again and we will definitely be back in the future.

We stopped in for a night on our (honeymoon) trip from NYC to Niagara. Couldn't have been more perfect. Picked up wine and cheese in town and then spent hours in front of the fireplace, playing UNO and 20 Questions and discussing the future of indie rock music. How romantic. We will definitely be back for longer next time.

It was so relaxing staying here this weekend for my newlywed husband and me. We both enjoyed the fireplace, the Jacuzzi, and I personally loved the airy open design of the cottage. Scotty loved the stonework and woodwork - very beautiful and well-done. Thank you for your help with directions and the extra blanket. We would love to come back soon , maybe for our first year anniversary.

This was the perfect place in which to spend our first days as a newly married couple! We've said so many times since we got here that we want to stay here in beautiful Ithaca another week before we return to the craziness of NYC. You can count on us coming back! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

What luck to find such a restful and ideal spot after traveling all day for my best friend's wedding. After hours of online research, we feel so fortunate to have landed at Stone Quarry Cottage! The accommodation alone make it worth visiting this part of the country again!

Beautiful cottage and setting, and appreciated very much the stonework all around - much like the stonework at Bailey and Ho Plazas on campus (our daughter was an intern at PVC). Cottage elegant in its simplicity with the craft (and styles) - and surrounded by friendly chickens and cat. Refreshing. Thanks!

Time flies but memories last forever. Five years ago we first stayed at your home for our daughter's first day of college life. Now five years later we return to celebrate her graduation as an architect. Your home and apartment seem more beautiful than ever; the quietness, the comfort, the space are perfect for any celebration and most important for us, the graduation of our oldest daughter. We'll remember your hospitality and your home forever. Thanks, Nancy

- felt the energy and environmental awareness the minute we drove in the big driveway -loved the stone bedside tables jutting out! - stone craftsmanship is really inspiring esp. big stone slab "foundation" for fireplace - wow! - feels like a combination of Frank Lloyd Wright and Buckminister Fuller - appreciated "good" coffee being a Starbucks nut - everything in this stone cottage just works together so well to create a very robust, hearty, but cozy ambiance - feel like I would like to hole up here and write a book

It has been a rocky, stressful year and my husband and I were looking for a place to enjoy nature and find a little peace and enjoyment before the busy holidays. My husband kept this cottage a secret before we arrived, but I could tell he was really excited about it.
We couldn't have imagined a better place to relax. It was difficult to leave the cottage to go sightseeing and was something I looked forward to returning to at the days end. We were in awe of the craftsmanship and thought to build such a unique place. We are thankful that you have chosen to share it with us. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

Many, many thanks for all you did to make this week both wonderful and memorable. The Stone Quarry House is simply beautiful. I was in awe of its seeming infinite grace and artisanship - truly inspirational. And what a comfortable house, filled with so many pleasures - the lilies, the amazing bed, lovely arts and crafts style furniture . . . Really it is all so pleasing and beautiful that staying here truly was a gift.
Many thanks for your thoughtfulness and kindness. I truly appreciate all you did for me during this week. I'll think of you as I try to swim this year. You have my deep appreciation.

All the memories of Cornell and Ithaca of 20 years back came to us! Thanks to you, we and children have got another gorgeous memory.
Everything here was comfortable; space, furniture, maps garden and of course the dogs and cat. Washing machine and dryer, and a lot of clocks were helpful indeed.
We are looking forward to coming back here and seeing you again!

Wow - what a wonderful time we had here. We are all very sad that we have to leave. I can't think of anything negative about this house or Ithaca. Connor square danced on the Commons; Dan was swimming in the lake until the lifeguards chased him out and I ate better than I ever have on vacation. Being a vegetarian and a tea drinker was NO problem here : ) John loved everything too - so many parks and so much to learn.
Thank you so much very much for letting us stay in this wonderful enchanting place. We will treasure our memories from here for a long time to come. Thank you also for your kindness- this place is a bit on the "magic" side.

This was the perfect get-away for our 20th anniversary. The Stone Cottage is wonderful. We were amazed at the design and the amazing attention to detail that must have been perfectly thought through to create this place. After three days we are NOT ready to leave. We have changed the 20th anniversary from 'platinum' to WINE. We are taking home our fair share of wine from the Finger Lakes region. The most fun winery we hit was 3Brothers on Seneca Lake. Great beer and food at the Windflower Cafe/Rosterfish Brewery in Watkins Glen. Wonderful trip, great hospitality from Nancy. A perfect way to celebrate.

Ryan and I were looking for a quiet place to get away for a few days after our wedding and the Stone Quarry House is exactly what we needed. We were sold by the pictures on the website, however those pictures hardly do justice. The stone cottage is beautiful. The architecture is amazing - I have never seen anything like it before. This is our first time in Ithaca and it truly is 'gorges". We had so much fun exploring the state parks, wineries, the Commons, and the universities. I look forward to coming back next year for our first anniversary!

My second stay with you (stayed in the apartment last fall over Parent's Weekend and fixed several favorite dishes for our daughter) but first in the stone house. It has been perfect. I'm here to help our daughter pack up and store things for the summer. She also has finals and needs time to say good-bye to friends. So I have enjoyed the quiet, the fireplace, the beauty inside and out. What a unique place. I hope my husband can come next visit.

It was our first time at the Stone Quarry, and we stayed in the cottage, which was amazing! Although only here for two nights, we couldn't help but to sit and admire the stone and wood craftsmanship in our every waking moment! The weather made it all the more alluring to soak in the Jacuzzi and warm up by the fire. (14 degrees outside!) Looking out the windows into the snowy surroundings made us feel as if we were hibernating until spring! The girls (Ella and Sappho, English Mastiffs) loved the surroundings out back, and followed many a rabbit trail before roaming back into the warmth. The bed was a wonderful night's sleep as well! Can't wait to come back for some R&R (minus dogs) in the warmer weather. Saw some beautiful waterfalls with a snowy/icy background and enjoyed Ithaca and the wineries as well. Thanks for allowing us this short, but much needed getaway!

It's hard to leave on an autumn morning! We loved staying in the apartment in August, and our stay (more romantic this time, less two children) in the Cottage was just wonderful.
We heartily recommend Maxi's Supper Club on West State Street and The Heights Grill . Mmm.
Thank you for all the thoughtful details, Nancy - the good soap, delicious coffee, internet cord (we forgot ours!) firewood, area literature.
We watched the third game of the Wold Series last night. We're from Boston, so the outcome was pleasing. We'll be back!

We really enjoyed out stay here at the stone cottage and the Finger Lakes area. We tasted many wines and sight seed our way around Keuga, Seneca and Cayuga Lakes. We hiked Cascadilla, Watkins, Taughannock, Robert Treman, and Buttermilk Gorges, taking 200 pictures as we hiked. Sapsucker Woods was impressive also. The Farmers' Market was more than we expected. Great food, don't eat before you go. Had our first taste of grape pie, very different, but good!
The Tempurpedic mattress and the Jacuzzi tub were a nice change from other places we have stayed. We did miss the kitchen sink though, and maybe a stove top. With all the great looking veggies we saw at the Farmers' Market, we longed to prepare some at home.
Thank you.

Wow what a great place to stay. We had a great time touring around Ithaca. My husband had a great massage at Rasa Spa and hiking at Buttermilk Falls was great as well. Had an excellent dinner at Mahogany Grill and Boatyard Grill was just as good the night before.
This was an early anniversary weekend for us and such a nice spot to enjoy ourselves. Thanks again for all the nice touches - we had a great fire last night!!

We enjoyed out stay at the cottage. Thanks Nancy and Buzz! The parks were fantastic (Treman, Buttermilk, Taughannock). Dining in town was very good (Olivia's, Mahogany Grill, Moosewood). Driving out to the vineyards was a pleasant and scenic drive.
It was always enjoyable heading back to the stone cottage at the end of the day. The craftsmanship is pretty awesome! We'll be sure to tell our friends and family.

Thank you for letting us share your wonderful cottage. It was great to be able to spend our 10th anniversary in such a beautiful place.
We were very impressed with all the architectural details. Looking at all the stones' shapes, shades of colors, and puzzle-like structure was like candy to our eyes. We couldn't get enough of it.
It was really a magical place. Thanks!

It's so hard to leave! We had such a magnificent time here, peaceful, relaxing. Thank you Nancy for taking care of our every need in that quiet yet all knowing way you have. You are a lovely and gracious host we will miss you, but Sacha will miss you most. If she had her way she would've spent the entire vacation with you and the dogs : ) ! You have a lovely family. God willing we will be here next summer. I am really going to miss Ithaca.
Six Mile Winery had delicious wines. You can't beat the food up here. Buttermilk and Treman - awesome!! Lucifer Falls - Breathtaking.
The apartment was just what our family needed. Thank you also for making my bother and his wife feel comfortable, but mostly for the essence and impression you've left me on giving more of myself to my children.
See you next year.

The bed really is AMAZINGLY comfortable . . . I never would've got out of bed every morning if my mom hadn't made me! I also love the photographs, books, and the yoga-bellydancing videos . . . makes the place cozier!
Say goodbye to your puppies for me! Especially the little white one - he always ran away!

We have had the most amazing honeymoon here in Ithaca and it would not have been complete without the stone cottage! We had so much fun exploring Ithaca and having such a wonderful place to come back to. We loved hiking at Buttermilk, Taughannock, and Robert H. Treman. What a view! (and a workout!) We throuroughly enjoyed the Ithaca Ale House (Apricot Wheat - Yum!), the Souvlaki House and many more local favorites.
We had some concerns after reading a negative review, but we couldn't have been more pleased! I felt completely at ease the moment we walked in. Everything was just lovely! We hope to return so keep up the good work!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

| My girlfriend and I stayed at the stone cottage last Fall and we could not have been more pleased, both with the accomodations and with Nancy and Buzz, they are just great. Whatever questions we had, they were right there spot-on with answers and advice. We had never been to the area and they were full of great information and suggestions, both for walks and places to which we could drive. The cottage itself is an absolute marvel, we had never seen anything like it and it looks as if every little detail had been considered and made as fine as possible. And the bed and the bathtub are worth the price of admission alone. A great great place, highly recommended. |

This is our 5th time staying with Nancy and Buzz in just one year! We use the excuse of visiting our son at Cornell to make the trip out here and relax in Ithaca. This time we swam in the gorges, slid down some waterfalls with 19 and 20 something yr. olds, played tennis (visited the local Lowes for a grill for the son's apartment), ate at the Mahogany Grill (one of our son's favorites) and we are off to play golf and visit a vineyard. We try to do as much as we can when we visit because we CAN! We'll be back when the Stone Quarry House has room for us! Enjoy your stay!

This was our first trip to Ithaca. What a beautiful place! We loved the Stone Quarry House; the apartment is perfect! My husband jokes that I've been in bed the whole trip. : ) The bed was SO comfortable!!! We really enjoyed the gorges and falls. We hiked Ithaca Falls, Taugannock Falls, Robert Treman (Lucifer Falls) and Buttermilk Falls. We took over 400 picutres and will never forget the beauty and awe of the falls and gorges. We were here during "The Ithaca Festival 2006" which was very fun, cool vendors, music and food. We did NOT enjoy the food at Simeons (but good drinks). We really liked A Taste of Thai and Viva Cantina. We toured some of the vineyards and really liked Lucas Vineyards. We were glad there were a lot of sweeter wines up here in Ithaca because we enjoy Riesling. We went to the Ithaca's Farmers Market which we enjoyed. MY husband also really enjoyed Bellwether Cidery. Thank you so much Nancy for the wonderful stay. We will come again!

Thank you so much for sharing your apartment at the Stone Quarry House with us! The grounds are just so beautiful with all the stonework, and the apartment so perfect. We loved the furnishings, the comfortable bed, and the peacefulness that surrounds us here. We came for FYFW at Cornell to see our son after 10 weeks of not having seen him. His brother stayed with him the first night, but came back here for the second with great pleasure. He also appreciated a comfortable sleeper, as well as a place he could sit and do a bit of homework. We will definitely be back, but are just hopeful that you will have a place available for us upon our return. We couldn't have asked for more! Thank you again!

Another fantastic visit to Stone Quarry House comes to its end. It rained for all but one of our days here this time . . . no matter, the Autumn magic was as strong as ever, and the beauty of Central New York was more than evident even through the clouds and rain. The Corning Museum of Glass is well worth the hour it takes to drive. We enjoyed it. Simeons bar downtown has many fine beers to chose from, and good food too.

The Stone Quarry House has given us a very special memory of our first visit to Ithaca. With all of the commotion and emotion involved in sending our son off to his first year at Cornell, the comfy and well appointed environment of the apartment offered a calm haven. What we thought would be close to a week of "letting go", turned out to be a quiet respite and a moment of "coming together" with our boys. Looking forward to many more!

What a beautiful and comforting place. From the environmental and social consciousness to the ultra comfy bedding, it was wonderful. The radio was even tuned to NPR! We came to celebrate a wedding and the apartment provided a great photo op for the groomsmen as they dressed. Many thanks for the gracious hospitality.

A lovely cottage! We leave here well rested and relaxed. We knew it was going to be beautiful, but had not expected the cottage to be furnished to such a high degree of excellence. You've thought of everything and have been wonderful hosts. We loved the seclusion of the cottage and the use of your beautiful grounds (not to mention your BBQ). Our little family has enjoyed our stay immensely- thank you very much.

Thank you for creating alittle slice of heaven in my old college town. This has been my first return to Ithaca since graduationg from IC in 1994. My wife and I loved everything about the Stone Quarry House's cottage. This week marks then years since our first date and we couldn't have picked a more romantic setting. The fireplace, the tub and that amazingly comfortable bed were all perfect, talk about relaxation. We explored the town and saw all of my old haunts, it was very nostalgic, but we returned each evening with glee to our oasis on Quarry Road. Buttermilk Falls was in all of its spring glory and we hiked in near solitude. Wonderful meals at Taste of Thai and John Thomas Steakhouse and plenty of shopping on the Commons. Nancy and Buzz you are amazing hosts and we greatly appreciate the work and thought that goes into your business. Thank you for a magnificent May weekend - and incredible get away - we will be back.

After L.A. and N.Y.C., Ithaca was a calm haven with Stone Quarry House at its centre. We enjoyed the quiet and the opportunity to sleep in late.
The accommodation is first class (the bed is particularly comfortable) and looked after by a very gracious hostess.
Had a lovely peaceful time - jetlag banished. Many Thanks

The description in your brochure and on the phone just doesn't do this stone cottage justice. Every detail in and around the cottage lends itself to the coziness and tranquility you sense as soon as you walk in the front door. After a five hour drive then getting lost in the pouring rain at 11:30 p.m. - what a welcome sight. The quality of the materials used and the skilled craftsmanship used, along with the mood the decor sets, (not to mention the views from each window) make this cottage what each one of us very much needs but very rarely gets to indulge in. Your efforts are very much appreciated and enjoyed - we look forward to future stays while our daughter attends Cornell. Thank you!

We miss Stone Quarry House already--we were very spoiled by the surroundings and by your care. After three weeks of relative luxury there (you'll have to tell me the brand name of and where you bought the mattress and mattress pad in the apartment; I'd love to buy them), it was a shock having to come and clean a big house.

. . . We didn't hang around much. Instead we visited the wonderful parks - Taughannock, Buttermilk Falls (swam in 66 degree water!), Robert Treman and Watkins Glen (awesome). Cayuga Nature Center was a bit dissappointing. Tip: Parking for the State Parks is $7.00 - but the ticket is good at all parks for that day.
We were a little cramped - family of five (ages 4,6, and 9) but still managed to get along. Using the restroom and taking a shower in the same room with the rest of your family is a new experience for us. The privacy screens were put to good use. . . .
I like the four-courner up-lighting.

We have finally settled in for the summer after absorbing our East Coast adventures. It was truly memorable, and your lovely setting added to the enjoyment of the journey. I have since been to Salt lake City and Seattle and am now ready to face the piles of laundry and envelopes of photographs. Thank you for sharing your comfy home with us. I loved the fountain, the bunnies that hopped around me as I lay in the hammock with a good book, and the great sculpture that blessed us from the hilltop. Have a busy summer and restful winter. We had plenty to do, and I hope we will be back someday. we will certainly recommend the Stone Quarry House to our friends.
If you are keeping a list of things to recommend, my own Do Not Miss suggestions would be: -- Watkins Glen gorge trail, plus swimming pool in adjacent park -- Cornell Ornithology Lab -- Ithaca Farmer's Market -- Cornell Art Museum
